Eyes of The Great Sage [Superior] [Passive]

# See through the very fabric of the world, increasing the INT stat by 50% during active usage.

'Active usage? The sa as Eyes of the Healer, right?' Michael questioned, marveling at the effects of the skill.

Yes, however, these will mostly be enabled passively, unlike the previous eyes. Do take note: the world you see whenever you use it like an active skill could strain your eyes. It's best to only use it for a short mont during battle.

'If that's the case, then why do I feel fine?'

Do you? You've been wobbling for the past two hours, and the city is already right in front of you. You should probably get so rest instead.

'Wobbling...?' he thought and tried to subconsciously see it, but was unable to.

'Are you lying to ?'

Just ask that little group of yours, whom you lost about half an hour ago.

At the system's remark, Michael imdiately turned his head back, and to his surprise, they were truly gone.

It was probably too late to catch up to them now—well, unless he flew. But the distance was not that far anymore, and he was sure they would catch up shortly.

Since they were no longer right next to him, he decided to summon his wings and fly upwards, heading directly for the city.

In just a few minutes, he finally arrived. The city looked nearly identical to the one he had been in before, but this one seed to have fewer districts.

There were four large estates, ones that looked exactly like the escort guild's, just a little smaller.

From this distance, he was able to spot a few people sparring in those estates, each wearing different-colored daoist robes that had a tiny emblem on their backs.

'Are those the martial sects?' Michael inquired with interest as he made his way down and into the city.

Yeah, they are a rowdy bunch and likely won't be as welcoming as the escort guild. I'd say, be ready to fight people at every corner.

'Really? It's that bad here?' he expressed in surprise, opening his map out of habit.

Despite what the system said, there were fewer red dots than he had expected. Instead, it was mostly dominated by yellow and a few green.

But the green ones were likely children or won who had never even fought soone before.

Michael decided to stroll around instead. He still had to wait for his group to arrive, and going to the escort guild's branch without the client would not be the greatest look.

With only a bit of money left, he headed toward what appeared to be a restaurant—one that was not too fancy but definitely did not co off as ordinary either.

That, coupled with the fact that most of the people inside were red dots, was quite alarming. However, he couldn't help his curiosity.

The restaurant seed to consist of three floors, each housing fewer people than the last. But Michael noticed that the higher the floor, the stronger the people were.

At the very top, he could even feel the presence of multiple Tier 3's and soone a tad bit stronger.

It was hard to tell if that person was Tier 4 or at the upper stage of Tier 3, but regardless, if they fought, he'd be in trouble.

Especially since he was a bit winded.

Michael walked up to the receptionist with a soft smile. "Could I get a table?"

Without even answering, he was handed a note with the numbers "2F 14S" written on it.

He assud it referred to the floor and table number. With a nod, he began walking upwards and sat down in the only open seat available.

However, the mont he did, Michael was finally able to catch the murmuring of the people around him.

It seed as though they were talking, and he could definitely hear so words, but he couldn't exactly make out what they were saying.

'System? Is this so sort of array as well?'

Not exactly. They are using sound waves to speak. They have their own frequency or sothing. I can understand them—they are simply talking about random stuff and missions.

'Hmm... Can I intercept them too?' Michael thought and stared directly at one person who had been actively talking all this ti.

Since he had no brilliant ideas, he simply infused mana into his ears, and slowly, the words were starting to make sense, as if all of them were coming together.

However, just as he thought he was making progress, the man stopped speaking for a mont, and Michael was unable to hear anything anymore.

'That sort of worked?' he exclaid with a sigh, waiting for his ears to heal back up again.

There was a limit to this ability. Since he had pushed it past its limits and lost concentration, he obviously paid the price.

But before he could try again, the chair to his right was pulled, and there sat so sort of girl who appeared just slightly older than him—perhaps around Astraea's age.

She didn't even shoot him a glance, rely looking off into the distance, her eyes contrasting with the blue sky shining down from the side.

What caught his attention, however, was her strength. She was at the sa stage as him, just a little bit weaker.

The calluses on her hands told a different story altogether, but since he already had soone in his mind, he would not inspect her further.

However, as he turned his attention away from her, she suddenly spoke.

"Why are you in this place?"

Michael glanced back at her for a mont before replying in a bland tone, seemingly trying to end the conversation before it started. "I'm hungry—heard this place is good."

"This place is good?" She chuckled before continuing. "You must've heard it from the wrong people—this is like a tiger's den."

"I see." Michael nodded back and ignored her before turning his gaze away. He could see a waiter moving around, serving the people.

Since there was no nu, he assud his turn would eventually co.

Discover exclusive tales at empire

Soon, it did, as the waiter approached and plopped down the nu.

However, despite his expectations, the content of the nu was not what he had expected.

'System...? This doesn't look like a nu.' Michael furrowed his brows, staring at the images. They were those that seemingly described ways of killing soone.

Tiger's den indeed. They are selling assassination services. Public execution, covert assassination, the killing of an influential person—they seem to have it all.

'And this place is right out in the open?' He flipped through the pages, having the system translate one by one.

It's out in the open, but not everyone can enter. You waltzed in like so confident idiot thinking it's a restaurant, so they simply thought you were here for their services.

'Looks like it.' Michael continued flipping through the pages with a frown. The amount of detail they had put into this "nu" was not sothing he was expecting.

There were types of killings he had not even imagined, yet they were proudly described here.

"Got anything you like?" the woman by his side suddenly spoke in a teasing voice, which he simply ignored.

'Well, I guess I'm not getting anything to eat here.' With those thoughts, he closed the nu and stood up, heading toward the stairs leading to the first floor.

However, a burly man, one who had been sitting nearby, suddenly stood up and blocked his path.

"Where do you think you are going?" he said with a scoff, looking down on Michael.

'Here we go again...'
