Chapter 410: 【410】Do you believe it or not, I have a pair of fiery eyes.
It must be said that showing weakness is a powerful weapon for won.
With Shi Lin displaying such a pitiful appearance now, contrasted with Tang Feng’s assertiveness, she imdiately evoked sympathy.
Unable to hold back, Hao Yi glared at Tang Feng, “What you just said was a bit much. She’s just a child, what kind of sches could she have?”
Ma Guii nodded in agreent, “Yes, children may do wrong, but it’s usually unintentional, not preditated.”
Wang Jingi stared intently at Tang Feng, “I know my own daughter. She’s a good kid with a pure heart. Don’t project your malice onto others.”
Shi Jinghe, though silent, also firmly sided with his wife and daughter, shooting an angry look at Tang Feng.
...
Tang Feng couldn’t help but laugh and shake his head as he took a few steps forward.
“What are you trying to do? Want to get physical?” Wang Jingi imdiately beca defensive, protecting her daughter behind her.
“Don’t get wrong. I just want to ask her a few questions. Afterwards, you all can judge for yourselves what’s right and what’s wrong,” Tang Feng said, spreading his hands to show he ant no harm.
“That’s your own promise, just ask questions. If you dare to threaten my daughter, I won’t let it slide even if it costs my life,” Wang Jingi threatened before stepping aside.
Tang Feng walked up to Shi Lin with an amused smile, “Would you answer a few questions for ?”
A flash of anger crossed Shi Lin’s eyes, but she eventually nodded, “Okay, you ask.”
Tang Feng stared into her eyes, “Do you believe that I have the eyes of truth and that there’s nothing you’ve done that can escape my sight?”
Shi Lin t his piercing gaze, feeling a bit off balance deep down, but still tried to appear calm, “I don’t.”
Tang Feng smiled and nodded, “Then let ntion a few things you’ve done, and we’ll see if I’m right.”
A smirk curled on Shi Lin’s lips, clearly thinking he was bluffing.
Tang Feng didn’t bother with her reaction and went on, “As far as I know, this isn’t the first ti you’ve stolen, right? The first ti was in seventh grade, when you stole a classmate’s phone. That gave you your first taste of success, and you just couldn’t stop…”
At first, Shi Lin didn’t take it seriously, but as he continued, her expression suddenly changed.
That incident had happened several years ago when many of her classmates owned mobile phones, and she had begged her parents to buy her one.
But her parents insisted that studies ca first and refused to buy her the phone.
Once, a classmate just got a new phone and flaunted it to her.
Then one day, during a break, that girl left her phone on her desk.
Shi Lin, feeling a sudden urge for revenge, hid the girl’s phone.
When the girl couldn’t find her phone, she was almost frantic, and it caused quite a scene for a long ti.
Eventually, even the headmaster got involved, but the search ca to nothing.
And after school, Shi Lin simply threw the phone into the bushes.
It was the first ti she experienced the thrill of stealing sothing.
She found it exciting to see so many people fooled by her.
However, no one had discovered this incident.
And so many years had passed since then.
How could Tang Feng possibly know about it?
Her guile was too shallow; the panic inside her was now evident on her face.
The experienced onlookers could tell just by her expression that Tang Feng was likely right.
Shi Jinghe and Wang Jingi, the husband and wife, looked at their daughter in disbelief.
They hadn’t expected that their forever naive and innocent girl could have done such a thing.
Tang Feng ignored the others and kept his gaze fixed on Shi Lin, “Still not confessing?”
Shi Lin glared back, but remained silent.
“Then I’ll continue.”
Tang Feng didn’t indulge her and continued, “If you just stole, that’d be bad enough, but not malicious. However, you did sothing truly vile at one point.”
Everyone in the room couldn’t help but swallow nervously, curious about what could be described as “vile.”
Tang Feng, still staring into Shi Lin’s eyes, went on, “In eleventh grade, one day in the library, you stole a boy’s headphones, but that boy caught you red-handed. Instead of apologizing, you turned the tables on him, falsely accusing him of harassnt and forcing him to leave school. That’s a truly vicious heart you have there!”
All eyes in the room turned to Shi Lin upon hearing Tang Feng’s story.
Everyone was reluctant to believe that a girl of only seventeen or eighteen could do such a thing.
Caught stealing and not apologizing was one thing, but to then falsely accuse and force soone to leave school?
Could that be the act of a normal person?
They all hoped that Shi Lin would deny it, proving she hadn’t done such a thing.
But at that mont, Shi Lin just stood there, motionless, as if she had admitted to the deed.
Inside, she was drowning in deep fear.
The two things Tang Feng ntioned were secrets buried deep in her heart, ones that outsiders couldn’t possibly know.
Could he really have clairvoyant eyes?
How could that be possible?
But it was the turmoil within that left her montarily forgetting to refute.
anwhile, Shi Jinghe and Wang Jingi, standing aside, were completely stunned.
They knew a bit about the incident.
The school had inford them that their daughter had been harassed by a boy at school, and that the school had dealt with the boy and apologized to them.
They were furious at the ti, and had scolded the boy and his parents severely.
But they never imagined there were so many hidden layers to the story.
So it was their daughter who first stole sothing and then slandered soone else?
Was this still their daughter who, despite being a bit rebellious, they believed to be pure and kind-hearted?
Wang Jingi felt her legs give out, nearly collapsing.
Fortunately, Shi Jinghe was quick to support her, though his own legs felt weak.
After finishing his story, Tang Feng paused for a mont and then turned to look back at Shi Lin.
“Now, aren’t you going to confess honestly?”
