Chapter 304: [304] Just want to ask you for a favor_1
By the ti Tang Feng and the two others returned to the main hall on the first floor, the foie gras and caviar they had ordered earlier were already on the table.
However, Sally hadn’t touched a bite, sitting there as if on pins and needles.
Upon seeing Tang Feng return, she imdiately stood up in a panic, “Mr. Tang… Detective Tang…”
“Why aren’t you eating? Does it not suit your taste?” Tang Feng pointed at the top-tier al on the table.
“No, I…” Sally bit her lip, “Mr. Tang, I really have nothing to do with their affairs.”
“I admit, I’m a bit materialistic, love to hang onto wealthy n, but I’ve never done anything heinous. You must see the truth…”
Tang Feng was wondering what was going on with her and when he heard her concerns, he suddenly laughed, “I didn’t say I was going to catch you. If you haven’t done anything wrong, what is there to be afraid of?”
Only when Sally heard what he said did she break into a relieved smile, “As long as you don’t catch , then… then are you still going to co over to my place to watch a movie tonight?”
The smile on Tang Feng’s face froze instantly, and he hurriedly looked towards Lu Keke.
Sure enough, he saw a look of contempt on Lu Keke’s face, clearly a misunderstanding.
“Ahem, don’t listen to her nonsense, I was just joking with her…”
“That’s your private affair; no need to explain it to . I can see very clearly what kind of person you are,” Lu Keke said, not bothering to hide her sarcasm.
Tang Feng felt her misunderstanding of him was deepening; he was even more wronged than Dou E.
“Alright, let’s not talk about this now. Sit down and have sothing to eat; these dishes are quite expensive.” He invited Lu Keke to join them at the table.
“No, thanks. Such expensive dishes are beyond my ans,” Lu Keke said dismissively, putting on an unapproachable air.
“This guy ordered an extra portion, and he can’t finish it by himself. It would be a waste to throw it away, so consider it as helping him out by taking so off his hands,” Tang Feng suggested.
Tang Feng pointed to Qi Tiande’s table. The guy had ordered two portions to spite him.
Qi Tiande also warmly invited her, “Yes, yes, after all, it’s Qin Lishen’s money; it’s a waste not to spend it.”
Unable to refuse, Lu Keke reluctantly sat down next to Tang Feng.
Qi Tiande had the waiter bring over the dishes from that table to theirs.
Only then did the four of them begin to eat.
It had to be said that you get what you pay for.
Although the al was excessively expensive, it indeed was a top-notch indulgence.
On the surface, the four appeared happy and harmonious, but each had their own thoughts.
Sally was lanting her bad luck, having co up empty-handed in trying to snag a wealthy partner.
Qi Tiande, on the other hand, was uneasy; fearing Tang Feng might betray him and that Qin Lishen might seek revenge.
As for Tang Feng and Lu Keke, they were considering the next steps in their plan.
By the ti dinner was over, it was already past eight in the evening.
Qi Tiande and Sally tactfully left first.
Lu Keke was also ready to leave, but was stopped by Tang Feng, “The night is long and full of dreams; it’s better if we act tonight.”
Lu Keke imdiately took it seriously, “You an Qi Tiande is likely to snitch?”
“I don’t know if he’ll snitch, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.”
“Alright, what’s your plan?”
“I’m planning to…”
…
Zhang Fuchun was a small business owner in Zhonghai who ran a leather factory and had a modest fortune.
He didn’t have many hobbies – not fond of drinking or won, but he loved to gamble.
However, he disliked underground casinos, thinking them too risky and easy to be cheated.
He preferred private gambling circles instead.
Half a year ago, he fortuitously t Fan Ziqiu, who introduced him to a private gambling circle.
The people who ca to this gambling circle were prominent figures in Zhonghai, all introduced to the circle by mutual connections, so there was less chicanery involved.
These private gambling events were held every Saturday night.
Today was another Saturday, and he drove his rcedes E300 to Mantianxing Billiard Hall as usual.
The billiard hall belonged to a friend of Fan Ziqiu and served as their secret base.
After parking his car outside the billiard hall, he ran off to a corner to relieve himself.
As the night breeze blew, he couldn’t help shivering, zipping up his pants and preparing to walk into the billiard hall.
Just then, a dark figure suddenly sprang out from the side, pressing sothing against his waist. The cold sensation sent chills down his spine.
“Don’t move, or I’ll kill you if you scream,” the figure threatened in a deliberately low and hoarse voice.
Zhang Fuchun’s back stiffened, and his bladder, just emptied, seed to fill with the urge to urinate again.
“Hero, let’s talk this over; I have plenty of money – you tell how much you want,” he said, raising his hands cautiously above his head, seeking to negotiate.
Hiding out here in the dead of night was mostly about robbery, he thought.
He might lack anything else, but he had money.
Problems that could be solved with money were not big problems.
Contrary to his expectations, however, the figure wasn’t there for the money, “Who told you I want money?”
Zhang Fuchun shivered again.
He wasn’t particularly handso; it was unlikely the figure was there for more nefarious reasons.
With money and lust out of the equation, could it be a matter of life and death?
“Big brother, who sent you? What did they offer you? I can give you double… no, triple. Just let live, and I’ll give you anything you want,” Zhang Fuchun pleaded, thinking the figure was a hitman sent by one of his many enemies, already beginning to despair.
But what the figure said next took him by surprise yet again, “I don’t want your life; I just need a favor.”
“A favor? What favor?” Zhang Fuchun was full of confusion.
“Take to your private gambling circle and say I’m a good friend of yours.” The figure made an odd request.
Zhang Fuchun paused for a mont but then quickly agreed, “I thought it was sothing serious; that’s a trivial matter. Hero, put the gun away first, let’s talk.”
“Gun? I don’t have a gun,” replied the figure.
The figure removed the object from his waist.
Zhang Fuchun turned to look, and it turned out to be an ice pop. No wonder it felt so cold.
A surge of anger at being tricked welled up inside him.
Looking up, he saw a very handso face with a bright smile that was especially glaring in the dark of the night.
“Hello, my na is Tang Feng.”
