Wendy Winters was stunned for a mont. She slowly turned and saw Mrs. Reed, her lips imdiately pressing into a tight line.

Mrs. Reed’s face was already livid, and her fists were clenched. But she didn’t want to lose face in front of Yvonne Sutton, so she gritted her teeth and said, "You. Go back."

Wendy Winters didn’t dare say another word. She shot Yvonne Sutton a hateful glare, then quickly turned and went back inside.

Mrs. Reed had Ms. Young go inside as well, then turned to Yvonne Sutton.

"So you knew all along that the baby in Wendy Winters’s belly wasn’t Vincent’s?"

Yvonne Sutton let out a breath. "What if I knew, and what if I didn’t?"

"If you knew, you should have told sooner! Then I never would have let Vincent marry her! Even if... even if he had married you in the end!"

"Ha." ’The way this family’s minds work is really sothing else.’

"I know you still love Vincent. It was an eight-year relationship, after all."

"What nonsense are you talking about?"

"But you need to control yourself. You’re the Rhodes Family’s daughter-in-law now. You have to consider the reputation of both the Rhodes Family and the Reed Family. Of course, since you love Vincent, you could also lend him a hand."

Yvonne Sutton frowned. ’What on earth is she talking about?’

"The joint project between the Rhodes Group and the Reed Group has run into a lot of problems. It’s giving Vincent a huge headache. You just need to say a word to Wyatt Shaw, tell him not to be so serious about it, and the collaboration will go much more smoothly."

"Mrs. Reed, did you co here after drinking?" Yvonne Sutton asked.

"What do you an?"

"Because if you weren’t drunk, how could you say sothing so utterly shaless?"

Mrs. Reed’s expression darkened. "If you’re going to have this attitude, I’ll make Vincent cut ties with you completely!"

"I don’t think you’re drunk. I think there’s sothing wrong with your head. He and I cut ties a long ti ago! And please, tell him to stop calling from different numbers. I block every single one. If this continues, I’m going to report him for harassnt!"

After saying her piece, Yvonne Sutton turned and walked into the courtyard.

"Don’t think you can be so smug just because you married Wyatt Shaw and latched onto a powerful connection! That branch you’re on isn’t stable. Sooner or later, you’ll co falling down!" Mrs. Reed shouted after her.

Yvonne Sutton ignored her and went straight into the house.

’They all said the day would co when I’d be crying. But why should I cry? Even if Wyatt Shaw and I don’t make it to the end, the feelings from this ti and the happiness he’s given are real. That alone makes it worth it.’

’At first, I didn’t actually regret my eight years with Vincent Reed. If they hadn’t disgusted ti and ti again, I could have rembered many good things. But now, I refuse to even think about it.’

After dinner, Yvonne Sutton watched so TV, had a video call with Wyatt Shaw, and then made a cup of coffee and went upstairs. She was thinking of getting so air on the second-floor terrace, but just as she sat down, she saw Vincent Reed sitting on the steps of the house opposite hers, taking long, deep drags from a cigarette.

Loud arguing was coming from inside. Since the door was open, she could hear so of it from where she was.

Just then, Mrs. Reed stord out. She tripped coming down the steps, nearly falling to the ground. After steadying herself, she yelled at Vincent Reed, "Either you divorce her, or you make her get rid of that child! There is no third option!"

Vincent Reed rubbed his forehead. "This is between the two of us. Can you please let us handle it ourselves?"

"Have you lost your mind? Are we supposed to hand over the Reed Family business to so bastard child?!"

"Mom!"

Mrs. Reed stomped her foot in fury. "To think I used to find her so obedient and sensible! I even kept trying to set you two up! I... I could just slap myself right now!"

"And you! She cheated on you, and you’re still defending her? Do you love her so much that you’re willing to throw away all your dignity?"

Vincent Reed shot to his feet, threw the cigarette in his hand to the ground, and stomped on it viciously.

"It’s not like I’m dead set on inheriting the Reed Family business!"

"You... what did you say?"

"Besides, it’s not like you don’t know that Dad has an illegitimate son."

Mrs. Reed looked like she was about to faint from anger. Fortunately, Ms. Young ca out just then and quickly supported her.

"Young Master, saying that is like stabbing a knife into your mother’s heart. Please don’t talk like that."

"I... I really raised him for nothing. What hope do I have left now?" Mrs. Reed burst into angry tears.

Fearing she would get even more agitated, Ms. Young quickly helped her walk away.

Vincent Reed turned and kicked the wall behind him fiercely. A thought occurred to him, and he looked back toward the second floor of the house opposite his. He saw Yvonne Sutton just as she was drawing the curtains, not looking at him.

The next morning, she went for a run around the neighborhood, then picked up a bouquet of roses from her doorstep. It felt like the kind of start that would make for a good day. But just as she reached her front door, she ran into Wendy Winters and Vincent Reed.

Wendy Winters was seeing Vincent Reed off to work. She was even wearing an apron, looking just like a typical wife. But the two of them seed a bit stiff. Especially upon seeing Yvonne, Wendy Winters deliberately kissed Vincent Reed, but he didn’t respond.

Not wanting them to ruin her mood, Yvonne quickened her pace, went ho, and closed the door. Then, she arranged her good mood in a vase.

After breakfast, Yvonne Sutton changed her clothes and had a video call with Wyatt Shaw as she walked downstairs.

"Yeah, I’m going to swing by the old house today. What about you?"

"I’m heading to the Rhodes Group’s hot spring resort today. I’m going alone on my motorcycle. The performance over there hasn’t been great, so I’m going to pose as a guest and find out why."

"Can’t you just sit in your office and listen to your subordinates’ reports?"

"They’re not even confident in the things they’re reporting."

"Well, you have to take so cool photos of you on your motorcycle, and then send the absolute coolest one."

"Just one? I won’t be able to choose. I look cool in every single one."

Yvonne Sutton went to the old house. She first cleared the weeds in the yard, then sat outside the door, looking at the old building. It was filled with her childhood. Even without a father, her mother had given her more than enough love.

"Yvonne, you’re back?" The auntie who ran the neighborhood convenience store greeted her.

Yvonne Sutton nodded. "Where are you off to?"

"Oh, it’s your Auntie Zhang from inside. She’s sick, so I’m going to the hospital to visit her." The neighbor auntie walked past, then turned back to chat a bit more. "They say it’s breast cancer. By the ti she was diagnosed at the hospital, it was already late-stage. They say it doesn’t look good, that she might not have long."

"I see." Yvonne Sutton rembered Auntie Zhang. She had even eaten the flatbreads she used to make.

"I had breast cancer too, you know. It’s been twenty years now. Back then, I didn’t have many symptoms, just a little pain. I ntioned it to your mom, and she insisted on dragging inside to feel it, then imdiately told to go to the hospital. Sure enough, that’s what it was. But since we caught it early, I was fine after the surgery."

Bringing this up, the neighbor auntie couldn’t help but add, "Your mom was a truly good person. Everyone in this neighborhood loved her. Anyone with a headache or a fever would co ask her for advice, and she always greeted them with a smile."

The neighbor auntie left with a wistful expression. Yvonne Sutton continued to look at the old house, thinking about the bits and pieces of the past. Suddenly, an idea ca to her.

She stood up and looked at the old district. Most of the residents here were elderly, along with so young people who weren’t very well-off. For them, getting sick and going to the hospital for a check-up was too ti-consuming and expensive. Because of this, illnesses sotis went untreated for too long.

’What if I opened a gynecology clinic here?’

She imdiately told Wyatt Shaw her idea, asking for his opinion.

"Don’t ask for my opinion. Just tell what you’re doing. Because whatever you decide, I will always support you."

Yvonne Sutton generously blew him a kiss through the screen, which made him protest that it didn’t count and that she had to give him a real one when he got ho.
