Yvonne Sutton ignored Candice Yates, supporting Stewart Pace as she walked away.

But Candice Yates just had to stir up trouble. "And here I thought Miss Sutton was so pure and chaste. Turns out you et up with strange n in secret, too."

"Hey, if you’re uneducated, don’t try to show off your vocabulary. What do you an ’et up with strange n’? She’s unmarried, I’m unmarried. Can’t we be dating legitimately?" Stewart Pace couldn’t take it anymore and turned to snap back at Candice Yates.

But the mont he turned his head, he recognized her.

"Oh, look who it is. It’s the one who sings that idiotic song, ’My mouth is small, my butt is big, I’m the cutest in the world.’ No wonder you’d say sothing only an idiot would say."

"You!" Candice Yates’s face turned livid with rage.

Stewart Pace pursed his lips. "It really does take all kinds to make a world. You probably don’t understand that, so let put it bluntly: you’re a classless, rude, and brainless moron!"

After speaking, Stewart Pace arched an eyebrow at Yvonne Sutton. "Let’s go."

Yvonne Sutton stifled a laugh and continued to support Stewart Pace as they walked on.

"Mr. Shaw, look! They’re bullying !" Candice Yates whined to Wyatt Shaw.

She didn’t hear Wyatt Shaw say anything, but she heard Candice Yates’s voice chasing after him, "Mr. Shaw, I’m talking to you! Didn’t you hear ?"

"That was The Rhodes Group’s Crown Prince, right? Your ex-husband?" Stewart Pace couldn’t help but ask once the other two were far away.

Yvonne Sutton raised her eyebrows. "I’m surprised you know."

"I go online and follow the gossip too, you know."

"Mm."

Stewart Pace clicked his tongue. "How did he let you beco his ex-wife and make her his current girlfriend? Don’t people develop a more refined palate and eat better and better? How did he go from eating a gourt delicacy to dining on rotten fish and shrimp?"

Yvonne Sutton shot him a look. "Alright, that’s enough. Put away that sharp tongue of yours."

"I’m telling you, to deal with people like Candice Yates, you just have to be nastier than them."

"I can’t bring myself to be nasty."

"I’ll teach you."

"Master."

Stewart Pace nodded with satisfaction, but then a thought struck him and he reconsidered. "Are you calling nasty?"

Yvonne Sutton finally couldn’t hold it in and burst out laughing. Stewart Pace feigned a punch, but the movent made him suck in a sharp breath of pain.

"I need to learn so kung fu. Otherwise, I’m bound to lose out if I run into that brute again."

Yvonne Sutton took Stewart Pace to get X-rays. Fortunately, he hadn’t broken any bones and just needed a few days of rest.

The two of them ca out of the outpatient building. Stewart Pace, limping, still insisted on taking Yvonne Sutton ho.

"I appreciate the thought, really. I’m giving you a few days off. Go rest up and heal," Yvonne Sutton said as she hailed a taxi for him.

Stewart Pace thanked his benevolent and virtuous boss, declaring that he would pledge his undying loyalty from now on.

They bantered back and forth for a bit before Stewart Pace said sothing serious as he was about to get in the car. "You should go stay at the villa. Don’t stay at the clinic. That brute is capable of anything."

After this incident, Yvonne Sutton was scared too.

"I know."

After seeing Stewart Pace off, Yvonne Sutton was about to call a taxi for herself when her phone pinged.

’It’s the middle of the night. Who would be texting now?’

She took out her phone. Seeing it was from Daisy Shaw, she couldn’t help but glance back at the inpatient building behind her before opening the ssage, and was startled.

"Yvonne, by the ti you read this ssage, I’ll already be gone. I’ve been thinking a lot these past few days, but the more I think, the more confused and scared I beco. I need to be alone for a while. I know you all will worry about , so I’ll check in with you every day to let you know I’m safe. I’ll co back when I’ve figured things out."

Only Daisy Shaw could write a text like this, with an opening line that could scare soone to death.

Wyatt Shaw must have rushed to the hospital late at night after learning that Daisy Shaw had disappeared.

She thought for a mont and tried calling him, but his phone was off.

Yvonne Sutton sighed softly and walked toward the inpatient building.

Just as she got off the elevator, she saw Wyatt Shaw leaning against the windowsill, smoking. His expression was cold and grim, while Candice Yates was touching up her makeup.

"Honestly, what is his mother thinking, pulling a disappearing act for no reason? Now everyone’s up and dealing with this ss so late at night. If you ask , we should just ignore her. She’s a grown woman; she won’t actually go missing. She’ll probably just co back tomorrow."

Wyatt Shaw let out a cold scoff. He straightened up, turned to Candice Yates, and snatched the lipstick from her hand. Then, he roughly sared several lines across her lips with it.

Candice Yates had wanted to resist, but seeing Wyatt Shaw’s dark expression, she realized she had said the wrong thing. She didn’t dare speak or move.

Wyatt Shaw drew a few more lines, admiring his handiwork for a mont, then shoved the lipstick back into Candice Yates’s hand.

"Rember this. From now on, when you’re with , talk less. Pretend you’re a mute."

After saying this, Wyatt Shaw took another drag from his cigarette and pressed the still-lit butt into Candice Yates’s handbag. It burned a hole in the bag, releasing a foul sll.

Candice Yates shuddered and quickly lowered her head.

"Get lost!"

Hearing this, Candice Yates hastily turned and walked toward the elevators. As she turned, she saw Yvonne Sutton and shot her a vicious glare.

’It’s not like I’m the one who pissed her off. Why is she glaring at ?’ Yvonne Sutton was speechless.

After Candice Yates left, Yvonne Sutton took a deep breath and walked over to Wyatt Shaw.

His back was to her. Hearing footsteps, he must have thought Candice Yates had co back.

"Are you fucking looking to die?"

The mont he turned and saw Yvonne Sutton, the furious look on his face froze. He quickly turned his head away and took several deep breaths.

"You... what are you doing here?"

Yvonne Sutton took out her phone and showed him the ssage from Daisy Shaw.

After reading it, Wyatt Shaw let out a long sigh of relief.

"She’s still so willful."

Yvonne Sutton didn’t see it that way. "Your mother told that her own mother had this sa disease. She watched her mother go through chemotherapy, radiation, intubation, and ergency treatnts, only to pass away in agony in the end. She’s just scared. Scared of repeating her mother’s experience. Give her so ti. Let her first accept the fact that she’s sick, and then she can face it with a positive attitude."

Wyatt Shaw handed the phone back to Yvonne Sutton. "I haven’t been doing a good enough job lately."

"Sotis, there are things you can only do for yourself."

Wyatt Shaw looked at Yvonne Sutton, his eyes full of longing, yet he was trying his best to restrain it.

"Can... can you help ?"

Yvonne Sutton nodded. "Of course."

"Help persuade her to accept the treatnt. I don’t want to lose another family mber... either of you."

Yvonne Sutton fell silent. ’The family he ntioned included .’

"I will," she said.

After parting ways with Wyatt Shaw, Yvonne Sutton returned to the villa.

The villa was empty and felt a bit cold. She didn’t linger on the first floor, heading straight for the master bedroom on the second floor.

The bed in the bedroom was neatly made, but since no one had lived here for a long ti, the sheets needed to be changed.

She stuffed the old sheets into the washing machine and went to the bathroom to wash up. When she opened the cabinet next to the mirror, Yvonne Sutton froze for a mont.

Before, only her toothbrush and cup had been here. Now, there was a blue one next to hers.

’Soone has been staying in my house?’

At this thought, Yvonne Sutton quickly turned on all the lights in the villa and checked every single room. Finally, she found a bag of frozen dumplings in the refrigerator.

Dumplings with filling mixed, dough kneaded, and wrappers folded by Wyatt Shaw—one of a kind in this world.
