The next day.

Before Natalie Morgan went to work, Felix Finch found her.

She didn’t have to guess to know it was about what had happened in the private room last night.

"Felix, I’m sorry. It’s because of ..."

’I heard Theodore Grant smashed the tables and chairs in the private room last night.’

She was planning to talk to her boss about paying for the damages when she went to work today.

"I’m the one who should be sorry. I never thought Theodore would bring friends like that to give you a hard ti. I wasn’t thinking."

Felix Finch chided himself.

He pushed the glasses up on the bridge of his nose. "Do you need to find you another job?"

"No, it’s fine." ’It’s the sa no matter where I go.’

"I’ll talk to Theodore about this."

Natalie Morgan had no hope for anything from Theodore Grant. She just gave a faint smile.

"By the way, I’m going to Crestview Hospital today," Felix Finch said. "If there’s anything you need to pass on, just let know."

Crestview Hospital was the one in that small town.

Since her mother was admitted, she had only called a few tis and hadn’t found the ti to visit.

"My mom’s illness... Actually, there’s nothing to pass on."

’Under those dical conditions, it was enough for her mother just to stay alive.’

’She couldn’t ask for anything more.’

Felix Finch nodded. "I’ll go see your mother, and I’ll ask the doctor about her condition while I’m there."

"Thank you."

After parting ways with Felix Finch, Natalie Morgan went to work at the restaurant.

Her boss was very kind and didn’t ntion her paying for the damages. He just said Felix Finch had already spoken to him.

As for what had been said, he didn’t elaborate.

Work continued as usual.

At noon, Natalie Morgan was heading ho after her shift.

The mont she stepped out of the restaurant, she saw Theodore Grant’s housekeeper.

"Mrs. Grant." The woman hurried over to her.

Natalie Morgan was slightly stunned. "Ms. Wallace, are... are you here to see ?"

The housekeeper looked awkward. She pressed her lips together, and it took her a long mont to force out the words. "Sir... asked to co find you..."

"To see ...? What is it?"

’Why would Theodore Grant send a servant to find ?’

’Isn’t he the one who’s so good at showing up out of nowhere?’

The housekeeper said, "Mrs. Grant, Miss Lynch is ill. She’s been clamoring for the Osmanthus Balls she used to eat at the Morgan residence, and Sir wants you... to go back and make them for her."

In truth, the housekeeper knew exactly what was going on.

’This was just another way to humiliate her.’

But she was only a servant. Even if she felt it was deeply unfair, it wasn’t her place to say anything.

After speaking, the housekeeper lowered her head.

"They sell Osmanthus Balls everywhere. He could just buy so." Natalie Morgan’s gaze turned cold.

"Sir said... he wants you to..." The housekeeper couldn’t find the courage to continue. "...Mrs. Grant, Sir also said that if you don’t go back and make them, he’ll..."

"He’ll what?"

"He’ll..." The housekeeper glanced up briefly before quickly dropping her gaze again. "...Sir said he’ll have Mr. Thomas Morgan transferred to another hospital."

’Transfer him?’

’Sending him to Unity Hospital wasn’t the end of it?’

’Where would he transfer him now?’

Natalie Morgan clenched her fists tightly.

She closed her eyes.

After a mont, she took a deep breath and relented. "Fine, I’ll go."

Every ti Natalie Morgan stepped into this house, where she had lived for two years, she felt an indescribable sense of suffocation.

Standing outside the door, she took a mont to steady her breathing.

Only then did she follow the housekeeper inside.

From a distance, she saw Wanda Lynch leaning against the sofa, resting.

Wanda happened to lift her eyes and look over at that very mont.

A hand with oxblood-red nails cupped her chin, and she let out a cold laugh.

"So-called Mrs. Grant. What a joke. All it took was one word from and you ca crawling back to do as I say. It just goes to show how much Theodore pampers ."

Her voice was sharp and high, as if she had won a great victory.

Natalie Morgan let out the faintest of scoffs. "If he pampers you so much, why don’t you get him to marry you?"

"It’s only a matter of ti before Theodore marries ." She slowly straightened up, picked up a cherry from the fruit platter, and popped it into her mouth. "Once my leg is healed, I’ll be his most beautiful bride."

"What’s the use of your leg healing? Can you carry on the Grant family line? Or give Theodore a child? You’ll be kicked out sooner or later if you can’t have children."

’The Grant family would never allow sothing like that.’

The corners of Natalie Morgan’s lips curved into a mocking smile.

Wanda Lynch’s face contorted with rage, her weak spot having been struck.

She slamd the fruit platter onto the floor and glared at Natalie Morgan. "Even if I can’t give Theodore children, he still loves the most!"

"Fine. You two can be in love all you want."

Natalie Morgan couldn’t be bothered to watch Wanda Lynch’s hysterical performance.

She followed the housekeeper into the kitchen.

Natalie Morgan quietly chopped ingredients. The housekeeper watched her, wanting to say sothing but swallowing her words.

"Ms. Wallace, if you have sothing to say, just say it. Theodore isn’t ho anyway."

The housekeeper sighed. "Mrs. Grant, I actually think that Sir... still has feelings for you."

Natalie Morgan laughed.

The kitchen knife in her hand paused. She shook her head. "Ms. Wallace, you’ve been with the family for many years. Since Theodore and I got married, you’ve seen how we get along. How could he possibly have feelings for ?"

"But I feel like Sir... doesn’t seem to like Miss Lynch that much either."

Natalie Morgan didn’t know what Theodore Grant was like when he truly loved soone.

But the gentleness and patience that filled his eyes were all for Wanda Lynch; that was a fact.

’You can see love in a person’s eyes.’

"Ms. Wallace, even if he stops loving Wanda Lynch one day, he still won’t love ."

"Mrs. Grant, I still think you and Sir are the most compatible."

In the housekeeper’s eyes, Natalie Morgan was gentle and capable, and she took care of Theodore Grant with ticulous attention to every detail.

Whether it was at the Old Grant Estate or here, she managed everything in perfect order.

Such a woman, especially among the wives of the rich and powerful, was truly hard to find.

Unlike that Wanda Lynch, who was two-faced and ran the servants ragged.

Natalie Morgan just smiled.

’The word "compatible"... it sounded like a joke when used to describe her and Theodore Grant.’

After making the Osmanthus Balls, she had the housekeeper take them out to Wanda Lynch.

"Miss Lynch, your Osmanthus Balls are ready. Please eat them while they’re hot." The housekeeper was perfectly deferential.

Wanda Lynch raised an eyebrow, looking at the housekeeper with displeasure. "Mrs. Wallace, Theodore told Natalie Morgan to co wait on , not just make Osmanthus Balls and leave. Where is she? Tell her to co out."

"Miss Lynch, Sir didn’t say..."

"Hmph..." She slamd her hand on the table. "...Mrs. Wallace, are you trying to talk back to ?"

The housekeeper swallowed her resentnt. "I wouldn’t dare."

"Get Natalie Morgan out here."

Natalie Morgan had already heard Wanda Lynch yelling. She wiped her hands and walked out. "Why are you shouting at Ms. Wallace? It’s your leg that’s hurt, not your hands. You need soone to wait on you just to eat? At this rate, you might as well just die."

"Natalie Morgan, what right do you have to talk to ? In this house, I am the mistress, and you are just a lowly servant."
