Wanda Lynch froze, the smile on her face slowly stiffening.

She looked at Weller Kendall, filled with confusion. "You’re not here to pick up? Then what is this about?"

"I’m here to see if you’ve taken anything that doesn’t belong to you."

Weller Kendall walked over to Wanda Lynch’s luggage and began unpacking her things, inspecting them one by one.

Wanda Lynch felt the insult. Ignoring the trouble with her leg, she tried to shove Weller Kendall.

"Weller Kendall, you have so nerve! Aren’t you afraid I’ll tell Theodore you’re bullying ?"

Weller Kendall kicked a suitcase and laughed mockingly. "Wanda Lynch, do you really think Mr. Grant doesn’t know about all the disgusting things you’ve done?"

"The only reason Mr. Grant hasn’t shown up and completely destroyed you is out of consideration for your past relationship. He’s trying to let you save face. Don’t throw it away."

He bent down and picked up the painting titled ’Rembrance’. "Mr. Grant is keeping a running tab of your debts. As for when you’ll have to pay, that depends entirely on his mood."

Weller Kendall turned to leave.

Wanda Lynch glared, blocking his path. "What did I do? Explain yourself."

"If you’re so determined to know, then go find Mr. Grant." Weller Kendall brushed away Wanda Lynch’s outstretched arms. "But don’t say I didn’t warn you. You may live to see him, but you might not live to walk away."

"Are you threatening ?"

’I’ve been by Theodore Grant’s side for so many years. I’m the one he could never forget, the love of his life.’

’He did so much for . He once stood by my side without a second thought.’

’Even if I’d done sothing terrible, he wouldn’t hold it against .’

’Weller Kendall is just bluffing.’

"Weller Kendall, you’re nothing but a dog on Theodore Grant’s leash. Do you really see yourself as his right-hand man? I’m telling you, you’d better show so respect. Otherwise, the day I beco the Young Madam of the Grant Family, you’ll be the first one I take care of."

Weller Kendall raised an eyebrow.

He shook his head with a mocking, contemptuous smile.

Wanda Lynch ended up making a scene at the Grant Group, where she finally saw Theodore Grant for the first ti in ages.

Her eyes were brimming with tears, and her lips trembled as if she had suffered a terrible injustice.

Theodore Grant slowly lifted his gaze, his eyes filled with visible disgust. He pointed at the woman before him and asked Weller Kendall, "What’s going on?"

"Mr. Grant, Miss Lynch feels that I’ve bullied her, so... she has co to ask you to stand up for her."

"Theodore, what’s happening? Why are you kicking out? Where am I supposed to live? Even if I were moving into the Grant Residence, you should at least have soone help move my things, shouldn’t you?"

Wanda Lynch rushed desperately toward Theodore Grant.

He looked up, his gaze as sharp as a blade, daring anyone to approach.

Seeing this, Weller Kendall quickly stepped forward and blocked Wanda Lynch. "Stay right there."

Wanda Lynch shot Weller Kendall a resentful glare before turning back to Theodore Grant. "Theodore, look at Assistant Kendall!" she pleaded pitifully. "This is what he’s like! He ca to my place, tore open my luggage, and spent ages rummaging through everything. He has no respect at all! Theodore, you have to do sothing!"

’Do sothing?’

Theodore Grant’s brow twitched.

Weller Kendall actually laughed.

"Miss Lynch, I suggest you stop embarrassing yourself," Weller Kendall said, his tone laced with impatience. "Mr. Grant is a very busy man and has no ti for you. Please leave."

"I’m not leaving." Wanda Lynch’s eyes were red. She stared at the man before her and said through a sob, "Why are you treating like this? Have you forgotten? We were engaged. The ceremony wasn’t finished, but... we were. What on earth happened?"

"What happened?" Theodore Grant rose slowly from his seat, his gaze as cold as an ice pick. "What happened? Do you really not know?"

Frightened by his dark, bloodshot eyes, Wanda Lynch stumbled back two steps.

"I... I d-don’t know," she stamred.

"Wanda Lynch, are Yulia White’s kidney and heart working well for you?" His expression was grim, his voice like a wind that chilled to the bone.

Wanda Lynch swayed on her feet. "I... I already explained this to you, didn’t I?" she argued weakly.

"An explanation makes it the truth?" Theodore Grant’s dark eyes blazed with a fire that could have swallowed her whole. "Murder, arson, framing another woman, even stabbing yourself... I never realized, Miss Lynch, that you were such a talented actress."

"I... I didn’t! Theodore, you’ve misunderstood! I can explain everything!"

Wanda Lynch reached out to grab Theodore Grant’s arm.

He violently threw her off, his eyes turning bloodshot with fury. "Explain what? That the fire at your house was an accident? That you just ’accidentally’ frad Natalie Morgan as the one who hired the arsonist?"

Wanda Lynch stumbled back several steps before falling heavily to the floor.

Tears stread down her terrified face as the corners of her lips twisted into a bitter, self-mocking smile.

A mont later, she began to laugh.

"So what if you know? That’s right, I orchestrated the whole thing. But... it was you. You chose to believe , not her. Theodore Grant, just admit it. You believed because you love , right?"

"I fucking loved you." Theodore Grant’s hand shot out and seized Wanda Lynch by the throat, hauling her off the floor. His voice was cold and vicious. "And you used my pity for you to play like this?"

Wanda Lynch’s face turned purple. She clawed at Theodore Grant’s powerful hand. "I... COUGH, COUGH... I didn’t... no..."

Theodore Grant was in a blind rage. Fearing he might accidentally kill her, Weller Kendall quickly intervened. "Mr. Grant, don’t dirty your hands."

Theodore Grant tossed her aside like a rag doll.

He took two deep breaths, trying to regain control.

"Wanda Lynch, I’m going to ask you one more thing, and you will give a straight answer."

Wanda Lynch gasped for air, her body trembling like a leaf. She looked at the man, her eyes wide with terror. "Wh-what?"

"That painting... my portrait. Did you paint it?" His lips were a thin, hard line as he stared at her, his voice frigid. "Back then, you claid you did. You knew the exact location where it was painted, what I was wearing, and even the precise ti. Tell . Did you paint it or not?"

A violent tremor ran through Wanda Lynch’s body.

’Back then, Theodore Grant had been searching high and low for the artist. I found him, told him I painted it, and he believed so easily.’

’He was the stupid one.’

’How can he bla for it now?’

She didn’t want to tell the truth, but she was terrified of dying.

"It was..." She took two deep, shaky breaths, trying to calm the panic in her chest. "...What answer do you want to hear?"

"Miss Lynch, this is not the ti to be clever." Weller Kendall pulled her up from the floor, dragged a chair over, and forced her into it. "If you don’t tell Mr. Grant the truth right now, you could disappear from Riverden in the blink of an eye. Your only chance of survival is to be honest, isn’t it?"
