Aiden Sinclair had promised he would let Nina Walsh go after a while. With no other choice, Nina could only stay at Cloudcrest Manor.
Aiden Sinclair had confiscated her phone. The manor’s periter was under 24-hour surveillance, and without Aiden’s permission, she couldn’t leave.
She didn’t know if Aiden’s promise was trustworthy, but she was certain of one thing—Aiden Sinclair was holding her prisoner at Cloudcrest Manor.
At eleven in the morning, the autumn sun was bright and brilliant. The osmanthus blossoms in the manor’s garden were in full bloom, their sweet fragrance wafting everywhere.
Aiden Sinclair had gone to the office. Mrs. Lane went upstairs to check on Nina Walsh.
The bedroom door was ajar. She knocked lightly. "Mrs. Sinclair, I’m coming in."
Mrs. Lane stepped inside. Heavy curtains blocked out the sunlight, leaving the room dark and gloomy.
"Mrs. Sinclair, the weather is lovely today. The osmanthus in the garden has blood. Let open the window so you can sll them."
Mrs. Lane slowly pulled back one layer of the curtains. The room gradually brightened, but not to the point of being blinding.
A breeze carrying the sweet scent of osmanthus drifted in with the sunlight, instantly filling the room with an autumn atmosphere.
Nina Walsh lay on the bed, still in yesterday’s pajamas. Her once radiant and captivating face was now ashen, like a flower beaten down by rain. Her once lively eyes were like a pool of stagnant water, staring blankly at so distant point.
Mrs. Lane’s heart ached just looking at her. "Mrs. Sinclair, are you hungry? The young master said you like scallion oil noodles. I’ve had the kitchen prepare them. Would you like to get up and have so?"
"Don’t call Mrs. Sinclair. I’m not his wife. His wife is Clara Jacobs," Nina Walsh muttered, her eyes wide open.
Mrs. Lane went along with her wishes. "Miss Walsh, you don’t know yet? The young master has already called off the engagent with Ms. Jacobs. It was the madam who liked Ms. Jacobs; the young master never liked her at all. Miss Walsh, the truth is, you’ve always been the one in the young master’s heart. You’re the only one he’s ever brought to this manor. Last ti..."
"Get out!"
Nina Walsh closed her eyes, turned over, and lay with her back to Mrs. Lane.
Mrs. Lane sighed softly and quietly left the bedroom.

At the Sinclair family’s old residence, Russell Sinclair was seated in a chair, while Sophia Sawyer sat on a nearby sofa.
Aiden Sinclair and Julian Sinclair stood in a corner of the living room, facing off against each other.
Russell Sinclair said, "We can’t contain the public opinion outside. The way I see it, we might as well just have Julian marry Clara Jacobs."
"No!"
The word had barely been spoken when two voices objected in unison.
Julian Sinclair objected because he didn’t like Clara Jacobs. The mont he spoke, he earned a sharp, scolding glare from Russell Sinclair.
The other person to object was Sophia Sawyer.
Russell Sinclair looked at Sophia Sawyer, his expression extrely displeased. "Why not? The Jacobs Family has already agreed. Why are you objecting?"
Julian Sinclair and Clara Jacobs had already slept together. If Julian were to marry her, he could at least earn a reputation for being responsible and dependable.
Besides, Aiden Sinclair had taken half of the Sinclair Group. Julian needed more support, like that from Clark Jacobs and his company.
Sophia Sawyer was stunned. ’The Jacobs Family actually agreed.’
"Everyone in Crestfall knows Clara Jacobs calls ’Mother’ and is Aiden’s fiancée. How can we explain her suddenly becoming Julian’s wife?"
Speaking of Aiden Sinclair, Russell Sinclair seethed with anger. While Julian was certainly at fault, it was an ironclad fact that Aiden had deliberately sched to seize the Sinclair family’s assets.
"Then does your son still want to marry her? If he’s willing, fine, let him have her."
Sophia Sawyer actually took him seriously and imdiately turned to Aiden Sinclair. "Aiden Sinclair, Mother likes Clara. You marry her! This isn’t the old days; a girl’s virginity isn’t that important anymore."
Aiden Sinclair’s sharp eyebrows twitched slightly. Suppressing his displeasure, he pulled a small red booklet from the inner breast pocket of his suit.
"Apologies, but I’m already married."
Sophia Sawyer shot to her feet. "When did you get married?"
Looking at Sophia Sawyer’s furious and flustered face, for so reason, Aiden Sinclair felt a sliver of malicious glee.
He said slowly, "Two years ago."

After leaving the old residence, Aiden Sinclair went to the office. He needed to take over the Sinclair Group’s assets and absorb them all into the Aethel Group to expand his own empire.
Aiden Sinclair walked with a brisk, confident stride, exuding an air of high-spirited success. The faint smile on his lips never faded.
Even Jay Keane was infected by his mood. "Mr. Sinclair, you’ve defeated Julian Sinclair, and Aethel has vaulted to beco the largest company in Crestfall. Companies from all over the city are approaching us for partnerships. You have no idea, Mr. Sinclair, everyone in the company is celebrating with you. Look at them, strutting around proud as peacocks."
Aiden Sinclair’s lips curled up. "That’s not why I’m happy."
"Then what is it?" Jay Keane’s curiosity was piqued. ’What could possibly be better than reaching the pinnacle of his career?’
Aiden Sinclair grinned from ear to ear. "I’m going to be a father. Twins—a boy and a girl!"
Jay Keane froze on the spot, unable to process it for a long mont. ’What does he an, he’s going to be a father?’
"Oh! Oh, oh!" Once he understood, he also beca incoherently excited.
"Miss Walsh’s babies are safe! That’s wonderful!"
Thinking about all the twists and turns between Nina Walsh and Aiden Sinclair, and what Nina had been through, those two children were certainly resilient. It was truly a miracle.
"Jay, go find so books on child-rearing," Aiden Sinclair ordered. Although they had maids and a maternity nurse at ho, Aiden wanted to take care of Nina personally.
"Yes, Mr. Sinclair. I’ll go look for them right now."
Just as Jay Keane opened the door to leave the office, Clara Jacobs burst in.
"Mr. Sinclair, we couldn’t stop Ms. Jacobs," a young secretary said, looking troubled.
Aiden Sinclair spoke. "Let her in."
Clara Jacobs rushed up to Aiden Sinclair in a few strides and demanded, "Aiden Sinclair, who did you marry? Was it that Nina Walsh?"
Aiden Sinclair replied, "Yes. Nina Walsh is my wife."
Clara Jacobs froze. ’It really is Nina Walsh.’
"You’re lying! Didn’t you say your marriage certificate was fake?" As she spoke, she realized. "You lied to . You’ve been lying to from the very beginning?"
Clara Jacobs swayed, clutching her head in her hands as her brow furrowed deeply.
"Why? Don’t you like ? You wrote so many love letters, you confessed your love to , you pursued for so many years... was it all a lie?"
"I didn’t write those love letters."
Clara Jacobs’s pupils constricted. She stared intently at Aiden Sinclair. "What did you say?"
Aiden Sinclair cut straight to the point. "From beginning to end, I have never liked you. I didn’t write the love letters, and I wasn’t the one who pursued you back then. If you want the truth, go ho and ask Clark Jacobs."
"You’re lying! I don’t believe you! Aiden, you can’t do this to ! The whole world saw how good you were to ! You love , right?"
Clara Jacobs refused to believe Aiden Sinclair’s words. She ran forward to grab his arm, only to see revulsion in his eyes.
He flung her hand off, ruthlessly pushing her away, his words leaving no room for sentint. "No. I have never loved you."
Clara Jacobs stumbled back. Suddenly, it all started to make sense.
"Aiden Sinclair, you’ve been using from the very beginning, haven’t you?"
"You were deliberately good to , you deliberately let everyone see you dote on , all to provoke Julian Sinclair and make him want to possess , so you could achieve your goal of taking over the Sinclair Group, right?"
