Venzula Empire Academy.

5th Residential District.

Kailen Darkhaven’s Villa.

"From now, I need to choose missions that can hasten my speed to get on the Heavenly Fate rankings," Kailen thought as he scratched his chin.

He scrolled through the list of missions. One mission caught his attention.

[Mission description: The signals of a small Venzula Empire outpost on a star, right at the northern borders of the Venzula Empire, have gone completely dark.

Mission: Covertly investigate the cause of this occurrence and report this to the Venzula Empire Academy Intelligence Agency.

Mission requirents: Rank 4 novice stage transcendent

"This won’t be a bad idea," Kailen decided. He would take on this mission.

"As for Xesla..." A glint of coldness flashed through Kailen’s eyes. After this, he lded with the void and disappeared.

Xesla Lee stared at the picture of Damien and her and sighed. "I can’t believe he’s really gone."

The expression in her eyes shifted from one of pain to that of coldness. "It’s ti to initiate the plan, since he has left the academy. I want to personally torture him in his final monts."

Kailen was currently in a spaceship headed towards the empire outpost at the northern border of the empire. He passed across several stars and uninhabited planets.

Suddenly, Kailen squinted his eyes. He disappeared from the spaceship. The spaceship disappeared into his secret realm. Kailen was currently floating in outer space.

"You can co out now."

Several figures appeared around him. They were all cloaked in black robes. All of them were rank 5 novice stage transcendents.

"Kailen Darkhaven. No hard feelings. Just doing our job," a tall human, the presud leader of the 12 assassins, said.

Kailen chuckled. "Xesla Lee must really hold in high esteem. To send 12 rank 5 novice stage transcendents after a re rank 4 novice stage transcendent like ."

The leader of the assassins shrugged. "I suppose she considered other factors, such as you anticipating she will try to assassinate you."

"So," Kailen replied, "she made sure to go all out. After all, even if I manage to secure the help of soone, there’s no way several rank 5 novice stage transcendents will line up for , right?"

"Exactly," the leader of the assassins replied.

Kailen smirked. So easy to predict. "Why are you still hiding, Xesla?"

At this mont, Xesla Lee appeared, confidently floating near the assassins she had hired to kill Kailen Darkhaven. "How does it feel to be on the dying side?" she spoke coldly to Kailen. She could not wait to torture him gruesoly before he died. This bastard killed her brother. Who could bla her for such hatred against him, regardless of whether or not her brother was at fault.

Kailen spoke. "Lotus."

At this mont, 30 rank 5 novice stage transcendents appeared. Leading them was the founder of the Lotus Assassin Syndicate, Lotus.

Kailen had contacted them prior to leaving the academy. He had anticipated everything that just happened. Had it been soone like the crown prince pulling off sothing like what Xesla was trying to do, he would not have bothered to contact Lotus. Because, he knew no matter how much the Lotus Assassin Syndicate valued him, there was no way they would get in the middle of an altercation between the crown prince and soone, even if it were Kailen. This was why he had manipulated the crown prince by using the crown prince’s pride against him, in order to buy ti to grow stronger, and eliminate the crown prince in the death arenas in so ti to co.

However, Xesla was not the crown prince. Involving themselves in an altercation between Kailen and soone like her was not risky. So, when Kailen contacted Lotus, and gave her the gist of the situation, she rounded up the exact number of powerhouses Kailen requested, including herself. They had been covertly following the spaceship since Kailen left the academy, laying in wait for the appearance of Xesla and her assassins.

When Lotus and company appeared, terror flashed through the eyes of Xesla and the assassins she had brought with her.

"Shit... all this while, he anticipated everything. We were not hunting him. He was hunting us," the leader of the assassins spoke. This fellow had been in lead of the situation this whole ti. He had anticipated everything and made preparations adequately. What a terrifying fellow.

"Shit, shit, shit... " one of the assassins spoke, shaking. How were they supposed to deal with 30 rank 5 novice stage transcendents? They were completely outnumbered.

Xesla Lee was completely shocked as she chuckled madly. She was unwilling to accept the outco... How was this possible? No... she was not going to die. Her brother... she had to avenge him...

"No... no... this is impossible," her eyes revealed a deranged glint.

Kailen looked at her. This lady was losing it for real. He shrugged. "Whatever you want to believe."

Xesla looked into Kailen Darkhaven’s calm eyes. She rembered what her brother told her before she died. "Don’t offend this person... it could get you killed."At that ti, the desire for revenge had clouded her mind. Now... she understood what her brother was trying to tell her.

With Kailen Darkhaven, it was not just a matter of combat prowess. He had a very scheming and manipulative mind. Soone like that was very terrifying to deal with, always several moves ahead and unpredictable. You would never know what they had up their sleeves.

"You bitch!" the assassin leader yelled at her, completely furious. "This was not the intel you gave us! You said he would be alone. And even if he would not be alone, there was no way he could amass the power of several rank 5 novice stage transcendents."

Xesla could not reply. She was currently having a ntal breakdown. She could not even hear what the fellow was saying.

The assassin leader glanced at the group of 30 rank 5 novice stage transcendents surrounding them and sighed. There was no way out of this situation. They could only apologize and see if it could get them out of this situation. If an apology did not work, they would try their best to run away. It was better than staying here and getting themselves killed.

"Mr. Darkhaven. It was all a misunderstanding. Please, if you forgive us and pardon us, we will be on our way," the leader of the assassins said as he looked at Xesla. "As for her, please, feel free to do with her as you will."

Kailen’s gaze was calm. It was as if he was completely unbothered. When he stared at Xesla, she shuddered.

"What do you want us to do with them?" Lotus ignored them and asked Kailen.

"Naturally, delete them," Kailen replied. "As for that lady, I need to use her to send a ssage. Kindly leave her head intact."

Xesla felt like she had just sunk into an abyss. How would she face her brother in the afterlife, if there were one? Also, why did she have to offend Kailen Darkhaven...

"Please... I will do anything..." Her survival instincts kicked in as she started begging Kailen.

Kailen completely ignored her.

As for the assassin leader, when he heard what Kailen said to Lotus, he sighed and gestured to his people to try to use their principles to at least try to escape. An attempt at trying to escape, even if it could prove futile, was better than just waiting and watching themselves be slaughtered.

As for Lotus, she nodded to Kailen after he answered her.

She ordered her subordinates, "Kill them all. But leave the head of the centaur intact."

"Yes, ma’am," the Lotus Assassin Syndicate higher-ups replied to Lotus.

They charged towards the assassins Xesla brought and unleashed terrifying principle attacks, causing so celestial bodies in the nearby vicinity to be flattened into rubble. The assassins working for Xesla tried to use principle attacks to block the attacks and escape. However, the numbers of those from Kailen’s side overwheld them and killed them all.

Xesla felt like she was in an abyss, completely shocked with how things had turned out. "I should kill myself then." This was the most dignified thing she could do for herself. She could not let Kailen Darkhaven kill her. She had to rob him of that chance.

However, before she moved, a wind blade, a principle attack from one of the powerhouses of the Lotus Assassin Syndicate, sliced across her neck and several other parts of her body in a swift mont. Only her head was left intact. Every other part of her body was completely destroyed. The head floated in space. An expression of shock, fear, and resignation was on the face of the head.

Kailen waved his hand. The head disappeared into his secret realm.

"Thank you, Lotus." Kailen turned to Lotus.

"Take care, Guest Elder," Lotus replied warmly.

"Sure." Kailen nodded.

"Let’s go." After this, Lotus and her subordinates turned into phantoms and disappeared as if they had never been here, leaving Kailen and only the dead bodies of the assassins Xesla had brought with her, floating in the void.

"I could really use a shower," Kailen sighed. His spaceship appeared. He entered it, and it bolted off.
