Lin Xiao chuckled. "Wang Shicheng?"

"That’s right, it’s !" the voice on the other end snarled.

Lin Xiao’s smile twisted into a disdainful smirk. "Alright, I’ll rember what you said. Since you’re so keen on courting death, here’s so friendly advice: go enjoy a few good als, because the ti you have left is running out. I’ll be in Jinhai City to deal with your Wang Family very soon!"

"You little punk, I dare you to co to Jinhai City!"

"Don’t worry. As soon as I’m free in a couple of days, I’ll co looking for you."

"I’ll be waiting!"

Wang Shicheng angrily hung up, and Lin Xiao sneered.

If I hadn’t already promised Su Qingning I’d visit her grandfather’s house today, I’d take Bei Kuang straight to the Wang Family right now. But there’s no rush. After all, dealing with the Wang Family is even easier than swatting an ant. Besides, finding an ant these days isn’t so simple, whereas the Wang Family is just sitting there in Jinhai City.

Not long after he hung up, his phone rang again. This ti, it was Xue Chongshan, the head of the Xue Family.

Lin Xiao answered it.

"Master, there’s trouble!" Xue Chongshan said in a grave tone.

"What is it?"

"All of the Wang Family’s core mbers returned yesterday. Wang Shicheng has put the word out that he’ll spare no expense to have you killed!"

Lin Xiao found this amusing. "I know."

"Master, you... you aren’t worried?"

"Worried my ass! What’s there to be worried about?" Lin Xiao said with utter contempt.

Hearing Lin Xiao’s words, the anxiety in Xue Chongshan’s heart instantly vanished. He chuckled and said, "Master, your courage is truly extraordinary. Now, I’m more grateful than ever that I didn’t continue to oppose you back then!"

"Which makes you a smart man."

Being praised by Lin Xiao made Xue Chongshan feel a bit embarrassed. "Master, I’ll get back to my work then. Call anyti if you need anything!"

"I will. In fact, I’ll be heading to Jinhai City in the next couple of days."

"To deal with the Wang Family?"

"Exactly."

A shiver went down Xue Chongshan’s spine. "Master, I will await your grand arrival in Jinhai City!"

"Alright, I’ll get in touch with you when I get there."

"Understood!"

They both hung up.

Just then, Su Qingning ca downstairs, having changed her clothes. A well-tailored black dress perfectly accentuated her stunning figure and set off her fair skin, making it look almost snow-white. The entire look was one of nobility and elegance.

When Su Qingning saw Lin Xiao staring at her, her cheeks flushed. "Husband, why are you looking at like that?"

"Because you’re beautiful," Lin Xiao said with a warm smile.

A sweet sensation blood in Su Qingning’s heart. To be called beautiful by the man you love... that must be every girl’s dream.

Her initial shyness gave way to a playful mood. She walked over to Lin Xiao with a smile, then lifted the hem of her dress and spun in a circle. The motion was a little too forceful, revealing her fair, slender calves.

Though it was just a glimpse, Lin Xiao’s breath caught in his throat. He didn’t just see her calves; he saw the high heels she wore and her delicate, fair feet. The very first ti they had been intimate in the hotel, Lin Xiao had taken a particular liking to her feet. They were so pink and tender, and he had spent a good while playing with them. Seeing them again today, how could he not be excited?

Su Qingning spun a few more tis until she grew dizzy, staggering and nearly falling over. With lightning-fast reflexes, Lin Xiao caught her and pulled her into his arms. Their eyes t, and Su Qingning’s pretty face blushed. Lin Xiao couldn’t hold back any longer and quickly pecked a kiss on her crimson lips.

Su Qingning’s face turned an even deeper shade of red, a flush spreading all the way to the tips of her pink ears.

"Hey, you two, when are we leaving?"

Just as they were locked in an affectionate gaze, a discordant voice cut through the air. It was Shen Jingzhe, of course. Mortified, Su Qingning buried her head deep in Lin Xiao’s chest.

They arrived at Su Qingning’s grandparents’ house a little after ten. Her grandparents were overjoyed to see Lin Xiao. Putting everything else aside, the re fact that he had saved her grandfather’s life was enough for them to hold him in high regard.

In fact, it wasn’t just her grandparents; even Su Qingning’s mother’s attitude toward Lin Xiao had undergone a complete transformation. She couldn’t ignore how well he treated her daughter. Humans have feelings, after all. When soone was treating her daughter so well, it would be unreasonable for her to keep finding fault.

After so simple pleasantries, Lin Xiao got straight to the point. "Grandpa, Grandma, I think since we’re celebrating, we should do it in style. We can have the al at Chunyu Pavilion. I’ll handle all the arrangents, how about it?"

Su Qingning’s grandfather smiled. "My boy, I appreciate the kind thought, but I was thinking we could just have a simple family al right here at ho. Co to think of it, since you and Qing Ning got married, we haven’t even had a proper sit-down al together."

"Grandpa, that’s my fault. I’ll do better."

"Silly boy, it hasn’t been easy for you either. I know Qing Ning’s mother has given you a hard ti."

Su Qingning’s mother imdiately looked away, ashad.

Lin Xiao smiled. "My mother-in-law was just afraid of Qing Ning getting hurt. She’s the apple of her eye, after all. To be honest, if I had a daughter, I wouldn’t want to see her suffer, either."

His words deeply moved Su Qingning’s grandparents, her mother, and even Su Qingning herself. Her grandfather smiled warmly and said, "You’re a good kid. From the first mont I saw you in the hospital, I knew you were a good person. Qing Ning is blessed to have married you!"

"Careful, Grandpa, or you’ll make arrogant!"

His remark made everyone burst into laughter, with Su Qingning’s laugh being the most joyous of all. Because this is my husband.

After chatting for a while, it was almost ti for lunch. Lin Xiao suggested they eat out, but her grandparents didn’t want the hassle, so he dropped the idea. However, he insisted that he would be in charge of cooking lunch. Su Qingning’s mother tried to argue, but she was no match for Lin Xiao’s insistence.

Once he had claid the task, Lin Xiao called He Yonghong, the butler of Hidden Dragon Villa, and asked him to have so ingredients delivered. When He Yonghong received the call, he was thrilled and promised to get them there right away. Opportunities to serve Lin Xiao were rare, and he certainly didn’t want to miss this one.

Not long after he hung up, Lin Xiao’s phone rang again. This ti, the call was from Shao i’er.

"Stinky dad, do you have ti for lunch?" Her voice was as sultry as ever.

"What’s up?"

"I want to introduce you to a friend!"

"No ti."

"Oh, don’t be like that, stinky dad," Shao i’er cooed. "Actually, I was hoping you could help with sothing."

"What is it?" Lin Xiao asked.
