Bei Kuang was fast.
In no ti at all, Kang Shaoping’s body was disposed of, leaving no trace behind. The spacious security room returned to its previous state, as if nothing had ever happened. However, the distinct sll of blood lingering in the air was a stark reminder to Lin Xiao that it had, in fact, all happened.

"Ready to go?" Lin Xiao asked with a smile.
Su Qingning bead and nodded.
"Let’s go then. I’m exhausted. Ti to head ho and sleep!"
A blush touched Su Qingning’s pretty face as she gave a soft murmur of assent.
The three of them got into the car. Just as it pulled away from the bar, an SUV silently began to follow them.
At that mont, Shen Jingzhe, who was sitting behind Lin Xiao, gave his shoulder a light, discreet tap.
Lin Xiao chuckled. "I know."
Even without Shen Jingzhe’s warning, he was already aware they were being followed.
Shen Jingzhe said nothing.
Su Qingning asked curiously, "Honey, what do you know?"
"Oh, I just rembered sothing and said it out loud without thinking."
Su Qingning glanced at him. "I thought sothing was wrong!"
Lin Xiao laughed. "Nothing’s wrong. Sit tight, we’re going ho!"
Su Qingning nodded obediently.
Despite being tailed, Lin Xiao wasn’t flustered. He drove at a calm, unhurried pace, and the SUV behind them maintained the sa leisurely speed. When they stopped at a red light, Lin Xiao brought the car to a halt.
Shen Jingzhe suddenly spoke up. "You two go on ahead. I just rembered I have sothing to take care of."
He knew at once it was a lie. This girl was clearly going to deal with the car tailing them.
But Lin Xiao didn’t stop her.
With her level of cultivation, she could deal with them effortlessly.
"Jing Zhe, you have sothing to do? We can go with you!" Su Qingning said quickly. After spending a few days together, she and Shen Jingzhe had grown quite close.
A ripple of warmth spread through Shen Jingzhe’s heart.
"No need. You two go on ho."
Seeing the determination in Shen Jingzhe’s expression, Su Qingning gave a helpless smile. "Alright then. Be careful!"
"I will."
Lin Xiao also added, "Call us if you need anything."
"Got it."
With that, Shen Jingzhe turned and got out of the car. He watched as she walked directly toward the SUV that was following them.
Su Qingning didn’t notice. Her attention was fixed on Lin Xiao, her eyes full of tenderness.
"Honey, there’s a question I’ve always wanted to ask you, but I’m afraid you’ll get angry if I bring it up."
Lin Xiao looked at her, amused and bewildered. How could she even think that? Seeing the expectant look on her face, he smiled. "Silly girl, I wouldn’t get angry even if you cursed out, let alone for asking a question. Go on, what is it?"
Warmth flooded Su Qingning’s heart.
"Okay, I’m asking."
"Ask away."
Su Qingning hesitated for a mont before asking, "What is your relationship with Jing Zhe? To be more precise, why does she listen to you and agree to protect ?"
Lin Xiao grinned. "Simple. She originally ca to kill , but when she found out I wasn’t an easy target, I had her stay and protect you instead."
PFFT!
Su Qingning burst out laughing, her beautiful, peach-blossom eyes instantly brimming with a captivating allure.
He’d never noticed before how incredibly enchanting her smile was.
Lin Xiao laughed with her. "What, you don’t believe ?"
Su Qingning nodded vigorously. "I do, I do!"
Though her words said one thing, her continuous laughter made it clear she didn’t believe a word. But he couldn’t bla her; what he’d said was utterly outlandish.
Lin Xiao chuckled. "Alright, I was bluffing. The truth is, I happened to discover that Jing Zhe’s cultivation was impressive. Since I was worried about your safety, I begged her to protect you, and to my surprise, she actually agreed."
Su Qingning smiled and nodded. "Now *that* sounds more like the truth! I knew right away you were making things up before."
Lin Xiao chuckled sheepishly. "My wife is so clever. You saw right through my bluff!"
Su Qingning huffed coquettishly. "I’m not an idiot. You can’t fool !"
Lin Xiao was chard by her antics. Putting on a show of remorse, he said, "My mistake. I promise I’ll never try to trick you again."
"Hmph. That’s more like it."
"Honey," Lin Xiao suddenly asked with a sly grin, "has your Aunt Flo left yet?"
Su Qingning’s pretty face flushed red. She knew exactly what he was getting at. She shook her head shyly, her voice barely a whisper. "Not so fast. Probably another two days, if everything is normal."
"Ah? Two more days?" Lin Xiao’s face fell with disappointnt.
He was genuinely frustrated. He was desperate to get his cultivation back. He couldn’t stand another day of living in fear like this. But he couldn’t bla Su Qingning. A woman’s period wasn’t sothing she could control.
Seeing his crestfallen look, Su Qingning said guiltily, "Honey, I’m sorry."

That simple apology struck Lin Xiao’s ears like a clap of thunder. He whipped his head around to look at her and saw the genuine apology in her eyes. He quickly reached out and caressed her cheek.
"Silly girl, I’m not angry at all. I’m just a little frustrated, that’s all. Why are you apologizing? You haven’t done anything wrong. Rember, between the two of us, there’s no need for ’thank you’ or ’I’m sorry.’ And besides, if anyone should be saying those things, it should be . Understand?"
Warmth filled Su Qingning’s heart. Her beautiful, peach-blossom eyes instantly grew misty. She felt that Lin Xiao was just too good to her. She was so moved, she wanted to cry.

Warmth flooded his own heart.

They arrived at the villa shortly after. Just as Lin Xiao parked the car, he saw Shen Jingzhe already standing there.

"You’re done with your business already?"

She ignored him and turned to Su Qingning. "Qing Ning, may I have a private word with Lin Xiao?"
"Of course!" Su Qingning replied imdiately.
Shen Jingzhe nodded. "Thank you." Then, she looked at Lin Xiao. "Co with ."
"Sure!" Lin Xiao smiled.
He knew she wanted to talk about the tail.
He followed her toward the pavilion.
