Shao i’er pouted. "You’re awful, Stinky Dad! I’m not talking about that kind of chasing. I an I’m literally being pursued!"
Lin Xiao sobered. "What do you an?"
"I’m on the highway right now. A car has been tailing ever since I left Jinling City. I didn’t notice at first, but after I caught a glimpse of it in my rearview mirror, I ran a few checks. Sure enough, they’re tracking !"
"Where are you now?" Lin Xiao asked quickly.
"I’m about to get off the highway!"
"Alright, I’ve got it. I’ll wait for you at the highway exit!"
Hearing Lin Xiao’s words, Shao i’er’s frantic heart was instantly filled with a profound sense of security. Frankly, as the daughter of the wealthiest family in Jinhai City, Shao i’er was much braver than the average girl. But that didn’t an she could remain calm and composed when faced with danger. "Shao i’er is being followed on her way to Jinhai City. I’m going to pick her up," Lin Xiao said candidly, not wanting to hide anything from Su Qingning.
"Being followed?" Chu Xiangxue frowned slightly.
Lin Xiao nodded.
"Who would be so daring as to tail Shao i’er?" Chu Xiangxue asked, puzzled.
"I don’t know. I’m going to go get her. You two stay put."
Chu Xiangxue nodded, but Su Qingning’s eyes were filled with worry as she looked at Lin Xiao.
"Be careful!"
Lin Xiao gave her a reassuring look. "Don’t worry. I’ll pick her up and co right back. Just wait for , okay?"
A warmth spread through Su Qingning’s heart, and she nodded obediently.
Lin Xiao departed swiftly.
As he drove toward the highway exit, Lin Xiao mulled over Shao i’er’s situation. Although I still don’t know who’s following her, one thing is certain: they’re no ordinary people. After all, Shao i’er cos from an extrely impressive background. The average person wouldn’t dare to tail her.
He arrived smoothly at the highway exit. Before the car had even co to a full stop, Shao i’er called again.
"Stinky Dad, I’m almost there! Have you arrived?"
"I’m already here," Lin Xiao replied.
Warmth filled Shao i’er’s heart. "Thank you, Stinky Dad."
"Let’s skip the thanks. Are they still following you?"
"Yes, and they’re even closer now."
"Good. Once you’re off the highway, drive straight to Chu Xiangxue’s villa."
These words left Shao i’er sowhat confused. "Stinky Dad, aren’t you supposed to pick up at the exit?"
"I am, but I want to find out who has the audacity to follow you!"
"What are you planning to do, Stinky Dad?" Shao i’er asked curiously.
"Don’t worry about that. Just drive to Chu Xiangxue’s villa. I’ll contact you after I’ve dealt with this."
"Alright then. Be careful, Stinky Dad!"
"Got it!"
With that, they hung up.
A short while later, Lin Xiao saw Shao i’er’s car exit the highway. She also spotted his car parked by the side of the road. As she drove past his car, Shao i’er saw him inside. She shot him a flirtatious smile and blew a kiss through the air.
This vixen... Lin Xiao thought, sowhat speechless. Just then, he spotted a van exiting the highway in his rearview mirror. It began to leisurely follow Shao i’er’s car.
Just as the van was about to pass him, Lin Xiao wrenched the steering wheel, slamming his car into its front end.
CRUNCH!
He expected the collision to stop them, but the van didn’t even slow down. Instead, it accelerated after Shao i’er.
Lin Xiao sneered and floored the accelerator. His car shot forward, crashing violently into the van again.
CRASH!
The fierce impact wrecked the van and sent it flipping onto its side on the road. Had this been on the highway, its occupants would have been killed instantly.
In contrast, the Cullinan ca to a steady stop. Luxury cars really are built solid.
Soon, four thuggish-looking, burly n crawled out of the vehicle. Lin Xiao got out of his car at an unhurried pace.
When the four burly n saw Lin Xiao, they were all stunned. They clearly hadn’t expected a multi-million dollar car to be driven by soone who looked like a beggar.
"You damn beggar, what the hell is wrong with your driving?!" one of the burly n bellowed, his eyes glaring at Lin Xiao like daggers.
Lin Xiao feigned a terrified expression. "Sirs, I’m so sorry! It’s all my fault. I’m willing to pay for the damages!"
Hearing the offer of money, the eyes of all four n lit up.
"One hundred thousand!" the sa man declared arrogantly.
"Boss, one hundred thousand is a bit steep," Lin Xiao said. "How about this? We can get in my car and have a nice chat about it."
"Fuck it, fine! Let’s go!" the sa burly man snapped.
He must be their leader, Lin Xiao concluded.
He led the four n into the Cullinan. The four acted like kids in a candy store, looking everywhere and touching everything.
"Who sent you?" Lin Xiao suddenly asked.
The four n froze, exchanging suspicious glances.
"Kid, what do you an?" their leader asked in a cold voice.
Lin Xiao smiled. "You followed Shao i’er all the way from Jinling City to Jinhai City. Don’t tell you were just overco with lust."
A jolt of shock went through the four n. Their gazes on Lin Xiao grew sharper and more sinister.
"Kid, I still don’t know what the hell you’re talking about. Hurry up and pay, or don’t bla us for what happens next!"
"What happens next?" Lin Xiao asked, a playful look in his eyes. "What exactly do you plan to do?"
"Hah! I’ll tell you straight, we’re all desperados. If you’re looking to die, we don’t mind spilling a little more blood. We’ve done it plenty of tis before!"
"Is that so? What a coincidence. I’ve killed quite a few people myself."
As soon as he said that, the four thuggish n froze. But a second later, thunderous laughter erupted from inside the car.
