Lin Xiao stood motionless, his expression unchanged. Yet, his gaze toward Bei Kuang held a faint hint of disdain.

Indeed, Lin Xiao’s courage to challenge Bei Kuang didn’t co from his own cultivation but from the dragon within his body. Ever since he devoured that dragon, whenever his masters ganged up to tornt him, no matter how shockingly powerful their cultivation, their attacks would always rebound. Moreover, the higher the opponent’s cultivation, the more vicious the rebound.

Simply put, ever since swallowing that dragon, Lin Xiao’s body had beco like a spring. Later, his Eldest Master gave this miraculous ability a na—Dragon Bodyguard.

Xiao Shixiong watched this scene in utter shock. He couldn’t help but be stunned. Bei Kuang was one of the Dragon Alliance’s top ten experts, his fa already widespread twenty years ago. Yet, unexpectedly, he had just been severely injured by Lin Xiao.

Could it be... that Lin Xiao’s cultivation surpasses even Bei Kuang’s?

Zhou Chengding was even more shocked than Xiao Shixiong. He had assud Bei Kuang could easily kill this stinking beggar in a single move, but he never expected this outco. The one injured was Bei Kuang. H-How is this possible?

But whether Zhou Chengding believed it or not, the truth was laid bare before him.

"Is that all you’ve got?" Lin Xiao asked disdainfully, looking at Bei Kuang.

Bei Kuang snapped back to his senses. He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and stared at Lin Xiao with piercing eyes. "Kid, what exactly is your cultivation realm?"

Lin Xiao shrugged. "Divine Martial Realm. Why? Haven’t you already figured that out?"

"Impossible! Absolutely impossible!" Bei Kuang retorted sharply.

Lin Xiao’s voice turned cold. "Whether it’s possible or not is no longer important. What matters is, are you still going to protect Zhou Chengding?"

"I will protect him! Years ago, I was severely injured and on the verge of death in Jinling City. It was Zhou Chengding who took in and gave food. If I do not repay this debt of kindness, what difference is there between and a beast?" Bei Kuang declared loudly.

Lin Xiao was slightly taken aback. He hadn’t expected this to be the reason Bei Kuang was protecting Zhou Chengding.

Even Zhou Chengding himself was a bit surprised. The person who had saved Bei Kuang back then wasn’t him. To be more precise, he didn’t even know it had happened. It must have been his butler, Ma Datong, who took Bei Kuang in. He never thought Bei Kuang would credit him with this act of kindness. Still, Zhou Chengding didn’t expose the truth. Right now, Bei Kuang was his protective talisman. He was counting on him to kill this stinking beggar, and maybe even get rid of Xiao Shixiong.

"Fine," Lin Xiao nodded. "Since you insist on protecting him, then allow to experience your power once more."

Bei Kuang snorted coldly. "Kid, if you’re determined to seek death, then I’ll grant your wish today!"

Despite his words, Bei Kuang didn’t dare to charge forward recklessly. His qi and blood were still in turmoil, causing him excruciating pain. Furthermore, the feeling Lin Xiao gave off was simply too uncanny.

After a brief standoff, Bei Kuang let out a thunderous roar and lunged at Lin Xiao. His withered fingers shot toward Lin Xiao’s neck like iron pincers.

His plan was crystal clear. Once he grabbed the beggar’s neck, he would snap it instantly.

Lin Xiao recognized Bei Kuang’s ferocity and didn’t dare to be careless. This was no joke. If not for his Dragon Bodyguard, that previous slap would have made his head explode. This old fiend was far more formidable than him.

Just as Bei Kuang’s fingers closed in, Lin Xiao parried the attack, but the man’s hand clamped viciously onto his arm.

CRACK!

A bone-piercing pain shot up from his arm. Lin Xiao retreated like a bolt of lightning, knowing his arm was broken. But Lin Xiao didn’t panic. He took a deep breath, and a warm current suddenly surged from his Dantian. The energy sward to his broken arm, seeming to nd the injury.

In just a few monts, the excruciating pain vanished, and the injured area was healed as if new.

It’s the Dragon Blood, Lin Xiao realized.

When Bei Kuang saw that his attack, while missing Lin Xiao’s neck, had still severely injured his arm, he was filled with ecstatic joy.

He had initially thought the kid’s cultivation was impressive, especially since he’d been able to injure him with the rebound. That’s why he had been so cautious with his last attack, fearing a counter-kill. He never expected to succeed so easily! The battle-hardened Bei Kuang instantly realized he had overestimated the beggar’s cultivation. After all, if the kid were truly stronger than him, his last attack wouldn’t have landed a scratch.

At this realization, Bei Kuang beca incredibly excited. Without another word, he let out a furious roar and lunged at Lin Xiao again. This ti, his speed was even greater, as fast as a phantom.

Lin Xiao’s vision blurred, and in the next instant, Bei Kuang was standing right in front of him. Before Lin Xiao could react, Bei Kuang’s withered fingers had already seized his throat with lightning speed.

Xiao Shixiong’s face turned deathly pale in an instant. His eyes went bloodshot, like those of a thoroughly enraged beast.

"Bei Kuang, let Lin Xiao go! If you have any guts, co at !" Xiao Shixiong roared. As he spoke, he lunged fiercely at Bei Kuang. This was no joke! If anything happened to Lin Xiao, the entire continent of Jiuzhou, perhaps even the whole world, would be shaken to its core!

Seeing this, Zhou Chengding broke into a vicious, triumphant grin. So, after all that, the stinking beggar is just a paper tiger! And here I was, actually thinking he was stronger than Bei Kuang!

Intense pain wracked Lin Xiao’s body, and breathing beca incredibly difficult. Unwilling to give in, he began to struggle, but Bei Kuang suddenly tightened his grip.

CRACK.

It was the sound of bone being crushed under imnse pressure. If the hand gripping my neck squeezes any harder, Lin Xiao knew, I’m dead for sure.

The feeling of suffocation overwheld him; he could almost see the Grim Reaper wielding his scythe. Desperately, he tried to fire the Xuantian Needle he held concealed in his hand.

But just at that critical mont, the sound of sothing slicing through the air cut through the tension. It was a pebble. No bigger than an adult’s fingernail, this unassuming pebble made Bei Kuang react as if he were facing a formidable enemy.

He instantly released Lin Xiao and shot toward Zhou Chengding, because the pebble was aid at him. Bei Kuang had sworn to protect Zhou Chengding, so he couldn’t just stand by and watch him get hurt. Just as the pebble was about to strike Zhou Chengding, Bei Kuang flicked his sleeve and batted it away.

Even so, Zhou Chengding was so frightened he collapsed to the ground, looking at Bei Kuang with an expression of terror.

Bei Kuang paid him no mind. Instead, he called out in a loud voice, "A masterful use of the ’Besiege Wei to Rescue Zhao’ tactic! Which expert is present? Why not show yourself!"

As soon as his voice fell, a young woman dressed in white erged with a leisurely gait.
