Her heart burst with joy.
No, it was more than that. Su Qingning felt an electric current surge through her, leaving her tingling and numb. But one thing was certain: she was elated, more so than she had ever been before. This feeling excited her even more than when she received the acceptance letter from her dream university years ago.
She tried desperately to rein in her emotions, not wanting Lin Xiao to see how ecstatic a single sentence could make her. But despite her efforts, her slightly trembling body betrayed her.
"Hmph, smooth talker!" Su Qingning said with feigned annoyance.
Looking at her stunningly beautiful face and listening to her sowhat coquettish tone, Lin Xiao smiled. "Alright, let’s talk about sothing serious."

"Do you want to take back the Su Corporation?" Lin Xiao asked seriously.
Su Qingning’s face, which had just been flushed with excitent, instantly turned as cold as ice.
Yes, Su Qingning was furious. She felt as though a bucket of icy water had been dumped over her, chilling her from head to toe. She couldn’t believe that right after she had refused Chu Xiangxue, Lin Xiao would start acting as her lobbyist. She didn’t know if he was genuinely trying to help her or if he was just looking for an excuse to divorce her. In any case, she was livid.
"What, did Chu Xiangxue send you to persuade ?" Su Qingning asked, her voice dripping with ice.
Lin Xiao was baffled. He looked at Su Qingning, completely puzzled. "What do you an? Chu Xiangxue offered to help you get the Su Corporation back?"
"Stop playing dumb. I’ll tell you right now, I don’t need it. Yes, I want the Su Corporation back, but I want to do it with my own abilities, fair and square, not by relying on outside help. If you dare bring this up again, don’t bla for turning on you," Su Qingning said coldly.

Lin Xiao froze for a mont, then broke into a smile. "Of course, I am. Just say the word, and I guarantee I’ll have everything sorted out for you. Forget about a re Su Corporation—even if you wanted the entirety of Jinling City, I could get it for you!"
Su Qingning gave Lin Xiao a bewitching roll of her eyes. This guy’s boasts are getting more and more outrageous.
"Hmph, then go and get it," she challenged.
"No problem. I’ll give it to you as a gift when we get divorced!" Lin Xiao declared emphatically.
Su Qingning said irritably, "It’s a good thing bragging isn’t a cri, or you’d spend the rest of your life in jail!"
Of course, she didn’t believe a word he said. Give her the whole of Jinling City? Even a three-year-old wouldn’t fall for such a ridiculous lie, let alone her.
Her response made Lin Xiao chuckle. He never knew Su Qingning had a sense of humor.
Seeing him laughing so freely, she shot him a fierce glare.
"So, what’s for dinner tonight?" Lin Xiao asked with a smile.
"Hmph, I have no appetite!"
"But I’m craving hotpot."
"Then go eat it. I’m not stopping you!"
"But I want you to co with !"
"I’m not going!" Su Qingning flatly refused.
"Fine, then I’ll find another girl to go with!"
"Go! Go on, hurry up and find one!"
"As you command," Lin Xiao said with a cheeky grin. With that, he turned and left.
Su Qingning looked as if she wanted to say more, but Lin Xiao had already walked out of her office. The mont the door clicked shut, her mood soured even further.
The jerk. I’m his wife, after all. How could he side with an outsider against ?
The thought only made her angrier.
"Hmph! Go eat with whoever you want, I’m not angry at all! I hope you get an upset stomach, and don’t even think about asking to take care of you if you get sick!" she muttered.
Still fuming, Su Qingning kicked the leg of the desk, only to hiss as she drew in a sharp breath of cold air from the pain. Her beautiful, peach-blossom eyes instantly turned red as she felt incredibly wronged.
Lin Xiao had just left the bar when he received a call from Shao i’er.
"Stinky Daddy, I’ve got the intel!"
"That fast?" Lin Xiao was genuinely surprised. The Su Corporation was a major company, after all. He was impressed by how quickly Shao i’er had gathered the information.
Shao i’er said proudly, "Of course! When it cos to your affairs, Stinky Daddy, I wouldn’t dare slack off!"
Lin Xiao smiled. "You did a great job with this. I’ll give you credit for it."
Shao i’er was instantly thrilled. "Really? Stinky Daddy, in that case, since I worked so hard, how about you reward with a French kiss?"
"In your dreams. Now, tell , what’s the situation with the Su Corporation?"
"Hmph, Stinky Daddy, you’re so biased! Your heart is only big enough for the Lady Boss!"

Shao i’er imdiately backed down. "Alright, alright, I’ll stop ssing around. The Su Corporation is in dire straits. Its once promising real estate and cultural tourism sectors have both t their Waterloo, thanks to that pig-brained Su Daonong. The entire group is now drowning in debt and probably won’t last much longer."
Shao i’er paused for a mont before changing her tone.
"However, the good news is that the Lady Boss’s father had the foresight to acquire a few excellent plots of land back when he was alive. Those plots are worth a fortune now. The bad news is, Su Daonong has already used them as collateral."
Lin Xiao felt an urge to curse. A company that was such a ss would probably go bankrupt even if Su Qingning managed to get it back.
"Stinky Daddy, should we destroy the Su Corporation or take it back?" Shao i’er asked.
"Let’s just wait and see for now," Lin Xiao said wearily.
"Okay, I’ll do as you say, Stinky Daddy. Well, now that the serious business is out of the way, let’s chat about more romantic things!"
Lin Xiao laughed dismissively. "Chat about what? Get serious. Keep a close eye on the Su Corporation’s every move and report to imdiately if anything happens."
"Stinky Daddy, if you want the horse to run, you have to feed it so grass first! That’s the only way I’ll have the motivation to serve you!"

"How about we make a deal?" Shao i’er said with a cheerful giggle.
