"What’s so great about Miss Shen? She may be beautiful but her body is so frail. Can she withstand the young master’s rough handling?"

"Ah, be gentle."

The man cursed softly.

"Of course she’s better than you. You threw yourself at while she is the one I plan to marry. How can you compare?"

"My grandmother is going to propose after today. It’s almost certain the marriage will be agreed upon."

Shen Hua imdiately withdrew her foot.

Yan Mi: "Are you alright?"

Shen Hua with an expressionless face: "They might not be cold, but I certainly am."

As she spoke, she picked up a rock and threw it hard towards the source of the noise.

A ’snap’ sound echoed as the rock hit its target precisely, followed by panic and cries of pain.

Yan Mi wanted to stop her but ultimately failed to do so.

"Let’s leave quickly."

"I’m not the one engaging in indecent acts. If they’re not afraid of being exposed, what do I have to fear?"

Shen Hua sneered: "I’d like to see who dares to set their sights on ."

In just a few days, the number of won who ca to inquire about Shen Hua was not small. Were they attracted to her? No, what they were interested in was the Marquis Yangling Mansion.

Shen Hua was also quite bothered by this.

She was about to head over there when her wrist was suddenly tightened, and in the blink of an eye, she was pulled into a fake rock formation.

"Stay here, and don’t co out."

Xie Xun instructed her and Yan Mi, then handed the lantern in his hand to Shen Hua before heading out.

As a man, it was most appropriate for him to deal with this situation.

The rock had hit ng Zhi’s forehead, quickly swelling up into a large lump. He was so scared that everything went dark before his eyes, and he collapsed.

Underneath him was a maid from the Yongchang Marquis Mansion, her complexion paled as she frantically started to look for her clothes in panic.

Xie Xun had excellent hearing; even in the pitch dark without any light around, he was able to stop precisely a yard away from ng Zhi.

"Co out."

Xie Xun added another line.

"Put on your clothes and co out."

How could ng Zhi go out? He didn’t even have ti to look for his clothes and ran away in a panic.

A ’whoosh’ sound followed, as a sharp gust of wind whistled from behind him.

The triangular arrowhead, with barbs and blood grooves, pierced straight into ng Zhi’s hairline.

ng Zhi: !!!

Xie Xun: "It’s obscene. If a girl happened to see this, it would be trouble."

Hearing the noise outside, Shen Hua was confused.

She was in a very bad mood right now!

Why should a girl listen to a stranger’s orders?

Turning around, she followed the faint light of the lantern and saw Yan Mi’s stunned expression.

Yan Mi was silent.

Shen Hua waved her hand in front of Yan Mi’s face.

"What are you thinking about?"

Yan Mi ca back to her senses.

It wasn’t distressing for her when her elders decided to betroth her to the Wei Family, nor when her closest kin used her.

She was born as Lady Yan’s daughter, and the Yan Family never shortchanged her in terms of food and clothing. She ought to repay them for the ten years of luxurious life.

But after hearing Xie Xun’s voice, for a brief mont, she felt extrely uncomfortable. It was as though sothing was crawling in her chest, gnawing away all her rationality.

Yan Mi took a deep breath.

She t Shen Hua’s eyes.

It was very difficult for her to say it word by word.

"It’s Heir Xie from Duke Fu’s Mansion."

Shen Hua: !!!

She unconsciously clenched the lantern in her hand. A hint of joy managed to break through the restraint in her brows.

"He’s back?"

"He returned the day before yesterday."

The smile on Shen Hua’s face beca slightly stiff.

Then why wasn’t she inford? Cui Yun hadn’t even ntioned this matter to her.

Shen Hua saw Yan Mi nod slightly.

She looked towards Yingwu.

Yingwu silently turned away to nibble on a chicken leg.

The excited girl began to scrabble at the edge of the rockery, ready to poke her head out.

It was pitch dark, but she could hear footsteps approaching from far away.

Shen Hua lifted the red lantern, waiting for the person to walk closer, then she could vaguely make out the familiar figure.

It’s Cui Yun.

Shen Hua was surprised, "Why have you co as well?"

Cui Yun seed indifferent to the commotion elsewhere.

"Sister-in-law said you haven’t taken your dicine."

Shen Hua slled the familiar bitter scent of the dicine in the air. She fell silent for a mont, then reluctantly withdrew her head back in.

Cui Yun said calmly, "I brought it especially for you."

"Drink it."

Shen Hua pursed her lips.

She said, "Give it to Yingwu, I’ll drink it later."

Cui Yun naturally didn’t believe her.

"You’re planning to pour it away."

Shen Hua: ...No need to say it out loud.

"If you pour the dicine into the rose pot again, not only will your illness not improve, I’m afraid the roses will be watered to death by you."

Shen Hua: ...

It’s just a rose bush after all!

"Roses are difficult to keep alive, they are also known as the ’sick beauty.’ Maybe drinking so dicine will actually make them stronger and healthier."

Shen Yangyang has good intentions too!

Cui Yun: "So, you sympathize with it then?"

The girl protested mightily, "I’m going to eat later."

"The dicine should be taken before als."

"After drinking it, I won’t be able to eat anything else."

Cui Yun’s gaze drifted downward, his brow bone exquisitely crafted.

"Then eat after you feel hungry."

His voice was laced with a faint chill, under the twilight, his eyes showing no fluctuation or brightness.

"Three doses of dicine a day, morning and noon, you’ve poured both away."

Yan Mi listened to the conversation between the two with difficulty. The heart that had been beating chaotically at the sight of Xie Xun was gradually calming down.

Seeing Shen Hua’s reluctance, she quickly spoke up to coax her.

"You need to take care of your own body."

Shen Hua raised her little face, muttering softly, "What’s there to care about."

Cui Yun massaged his forehead.

Cui Rong also used to avoid taking dicine like this. He had to be taught a lesson to behave. He originally thought that Shen Hua would cooperate with the doctor’s advice in this regard.

He was mistaken.

Yan Mi: "Marquis is holding the dicine looking for you; if you don’t care, he cares."

Shen Hua’s breathing hitched.

Her determination to stand firm against Cui Yun collapsed in an instant, shattering to pieces. Unwillingly, she slowly moved towards the entrance of the cave.

An indescribable emotion took root like a sprout, as if carefully nurtured, it could grow into a rose that would never wither, the best to keep alive.

It seems she’s always been like this, ridiculously petulant, yet always moved by a few sincere words of care.

Miss Shen deserves to be gently cherished by the world.

Cui Yun seed to have long grasped Shen Hua’s soft but stubborn temperant. He did not refute a single word Yan Mi had just said.

Shen Hua lifted her chin slightly: "Isn’t the dicine cold by now?"

"It’s still warm."

On such a cold day, Cui Yun couldn’t have just brewed it and co looking for her, could he? Isn’t he afraid of getting scalded?

Cui Yun: "So, will you drink it?"

Shen Hua maintained her deanor.

She pinched her throat, suppressing the smile on the corner of her mouth. If she had a tail, it would surely be wagging frantically at this mont.

"Since you’ve said so, I should give my cousin so face."

The noise here, Xie Xun heard every bit of it clearly.

He felt sowhat absurd.

Even ng Zhi would find it difficult to accept.

He was not even surprised, only a bit calculative.

So while he was shivering here, they were over there flirting?

Xie Xun’s expression turned cold and hard.

Then, he overheard a conversation behind him.

"Heir Xie is back, why didn’t my cousin tell ?"

"Didn’t he inform you?"

"Hmm!" It was an affirmative tone.

Cui Yun sighed softly: "Probably too busy, must have forgotten."

Shen Hua expressed her understanding of him.
