First Era, Abyss.
Grey Elf Liliana sat upon the marble-built city walls.
Her legs dangled, swinging idly in the air as her gaze fixed on the scenery outside the City of Wind and Snow.
Outside the city, the seemingly eternal snow storm had vanished at so unknown ti.
What unfolded before her eyes was a bright world, where the distant snow-capped mountains looked sacred and majestic in the brilliant sunlight.
The sound of flowing water reached her ears; nearby lay a lake and a adow, and further in the distance, a forest.
The fragrance of flowers perated the air, and Liliana turned her head to see a sea of pure white flowers swaying by the lakeside.
They were plants Liliana had never seen in the Abyss before.
The bottom of the Abyss was barren and desolate; apart from this island fallen from the Main Material Plane, there was no native life.
Yet, these white flowers had appeared out of nowhere, swaying with the wind and releasing a radiant fragrance.
"All this change..."
"Is it all because of—him?"
Looking at the renewed landscape outside the City of Wind and Snow, Liliana’s mind suddenly recalled the brief glimpse of the human boy asleep upon the Ice-Sealed Throne.
According to the leader, the world surrounding the City of Wind and Snow was a reflection and manifestation of the human boy’s subconscious mind during his slumber.
So, at this very mont.
The scenery manifested by the heart’s reflection had transford from an endless snowstorm to a warm spring day.
Does this also an—
Has the heart’s reflection of the boy on the Ice-Sealed Throne changed as well?
Has he—
Finally awakened?
Such speculation took root uncontrollably in Liliana’s heart.
However, since that day, the Palace of Night at the center of the City of Wind and Snow, where the leader resided, has remained veiled in darkness.
Even though Liliana was restless with curiosity over her speculation, she hadn’t had the chance to enter and verify it.
"Liliana Sister, here’s a bouquet for you, picked from the flower sea outside the city."
Suddenly, a group of Grey Elf Tribe children approached, laughing and playing from outside the city walls, and noticed the daydreaming Elder Liliana perched on the wall. One little grey elf girl giggled and offered Liliana a bouquet of flowers.
Thanks to Liliana’s approachable personality, the children of the Grey Elf Tribe didn’t hold the sa reverential fear towards their elder as other elf tribes’ civilians did, allowing them to mingle freely with Elder Liliana.
"Thank you, Little Tia."
Liliana gracefully extended her hand to receive the unknown white flowers from the grey elf girl nad Tia.
She instinctively raised her hand to pat Little Tia’s head, but saw the little girl step back and make a funny face: "No way, Liliana Sister."
"Mom said if I keep getting my head patted, I won’t grow taller... I’ll be so short, I won’t be able to get married in the future."
With that, she ran off into the city with other Grey Elf Tribe children, laughing rrily.
It was alti in the City of Wind and Snow, smoke rose from household chimneys, signaling the children’s return ho for als.
Liliana sat on the wall, looking at the bouquet of small white flowers in her hand, unconsciously touching her own forehead.
Is there really a saying that getting patted on the head makes you not grow taller?
She suddenly recalled how she seed to have had her head patted by that human when she was little.
Of course, the main head-patter was still Sister Hathaway, who did so every day.
According to Sister Hathaway, that human boy, who was also her ntor, particularly enjoyed patting her head... but unable to challenge that human, she instead directed her playful gestures towards Liliana.
Eventually, forming a complete food chain.
So—
Her height, among Grey Elf Tribe won, indeed wasn’t considered particularly tall.
The subconscious thought made Liliana smile gently.
With a Legendary powerful pro’s control over their body, their physical form could be freely adjusted long ago.
Not only growing a bit taller, but even transforming into a five-ter-tall giant wouldn’t be impossible at a Legendary rank.
However, for most Legendaries, they’d prefer to maintain their original form.
After all, solidifying and recognizing their own image and concept was one way to resist the remnant pollution and madness of the current Main Material Plane.
With these thoughts, Liliana brought the bouquet close to her face.
The petals were delicate and white, and that fresh fragrance instantly filled her nostrils, even making her Legendary-level spiritual power feel refreshed.
For the residents of the Western Continent, even just the simplest farrs and civilians, seeing beautiful flowers in the fields was the most simplistic and ordinary thing.
Nonetheless, for the elves who fell into the abyss along with the Lost Island and never witnessed the world outside the Abyss in their lifeti, even the simplest flowers, even to a Legend like Liliana, beca an unprecedented experience.
Speaking of which... since the surrounding scenery is the manifestation of that human boy’s heart reflection.
