The five of them stayed up together on New Year’s Eve.

The sound of mahjong diluted any elegance. Though the atmosphere was a bit tacky, it was filled with the joy of New Year’s.

Gu Jiahui probably hadn’t played much mahjong, as he wasn’t familiar with the rules.

Gu Shiting and Zhou Yu didn’t target him, letting him learn slowly, while Sheng Tang provided him with so guidance on the side.

Gu Jiahui was quite clever on his own.

In about twenty minutes, he almost understood the rules and even started winning money.

Qin Lin was having the worst luck.

Zhou Yu wasn’t much better; he couldn’t calculate the cards well, so he couldn’t help Qin Lin.

"Ting, enough is enough!" Zhou Yu protested, "Why do you keep targeting Qin Lin?"

Sheng Tang glared at him, "Who’s targeting him? It’s his own bad luck and lousy card skills, and you have the nerve to bla Ting?"

Zhou Yu: "..."

As a result of his protest, Gu Shiting targeted Qin Lin and also dealt with Zhou Yu.

Zhou Yu was getting defeated badly too.

Watching this, Gu Jiahui couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow; Sheng Tang felt like he wanted to laugh but held it in.

Gu Jiahui trying not to laugh seed lively, no longer appearing so mature for a man of his age.

By eleven o’clock, Gu Jiahui already knew how to play, and the ga table was dominated by him and Gu Shiting. The over a thousand yuan in front of Zhou Yu and Qin Lin quickly disappeared.

"Damn, are you playing cards or committing robbery?" Qin Lin exclaid angrily.

Sheng Tang burst out laughing.

Gu Shiting also smiled, "I’ll treat you all to a al tomorrow."

"I want to go to a revolving restaurant, otherwise I won’t get my thousand back," Qin Lin said.

Sheng Tang giggled.

She threw sunflower seeds at Qin Lin, "Can’t take losing, Young Master Qin! What’s a thousand? You used to get extorted by little punks for more than that and didn’t seem to mind. So dramatic!"

Qin Lin: "..."

This junior sister really ought to be thrown to the dogs!

Amidst laughter and chatter, even Gu Jiahui occasionally chid in with a word or two.

Gu Shiting wouldn’t let Sheng Tang be unhappy on New Year’s Eve, so he was particularly polite to Gu Jiahui, without any provoking behavior.

He showed goodwill first, and as Gu Jiahui was a guest, he naturally reciprocated cordially.

When the clock struck twelve, the New Year’s Eve Gala served as background sound, the hosts announced the ti, officially marking the transition to a new year.

At this mont, Gu Shiting did sothing unexpected to everyone.

He pulled her close with one hand, "Happy New Year, Tangtang, may you continue to shine brightly this year."

Gu Jiahui: "..."

Qin Lin was full of inner drama, thinking it was about to turn into a showdown.

But to his disappointnt, Gu Jiahui just turned his head and continued shuffling the cards.

Sheng Tang felt a bit unnatural as well.

Gu Shiting, on the other hand, was in a good mood.

Sheng Tang stood up.

When she rose, her arm bumped into Gu Jiahui, making him glance her way.

eting his gaze, Sheng Tang felt slightly uncomfortable again.

"The movie ’White Snake’ is showing; let’s go watch it," she suggested, "We can sleep after."

"Don’t want to go; I heard it’s terrible," Qin Lin teased Sheng Tang.

Sheng Tang: "Just pretend you’re boosting its ticket sales! Are you going or not?"

"Yes," Gu Shiting responded first.

Gu Jiahui also said, "I want to see how bad it really is."

"Let’s go, let’s go," Brother Zhou stood up as well.

Qin Lin was the only one unwilling to go.

Sheng Tang teased him further, "Why don’t you stay and watch the house then?"

"Go away!" Qin Lin’s hands itched, wanting to hit her.

When leaving to grab their coats, Qin Lin intentionally tripped Sheng Tang. Sheng Tang started a playful fight with him, and they wrestled all the way to the elevator.

Gu Jiahui was watching in a daze.

Sheng Tang thought Gu Jiahui was shrewd, and Gu Jiahui thought Sheng Tang was deep-minded.

All of a sudden, she seed like a little girl, playfully fighting with Qin Lin, which amazed Gu Jiahui.

He had never seen Sheng Tang so lively before.

Her liveliness made her appear more endearing.

He sighed inwardly. No matter how great, she’s not ant for him; Sheng Tang was destined not to belong to him.
