The gown will take three months before it’s ready.
Sheng Tang isn’t in a hurry; she has no major events in the next three months.
For the opening ceremony of "White Snake," she doesn’t need a gown. Once she joins the crew, she’ll push away other comrcial activities, and she can attend in dresses from lesser-known brands.
She can wait.
After leaving the studio, Sheng Tang and Gu Shiyan went shopping, buying quite a few ready-to-wear outfits from famous brands.
These are all for daily wear, and Gu Shiyan often buys a lot since she never wears the sa outfit twice.
Sheng Tang used to be the sa.
However, in the previous tiline, female stars could auction off clothes worn once, donating the money to charities, solving wardrobe issues while earning a good reputation.
Sheng Tang was curious about how Gu Shiyan handled it, so she asked her specifically.
Gu Shiyan: "I also auction so off, mainly the haute couture gowns. I have a charity foundation that supports dical aid in remote rural areas, and it doesn’t accept external donations; it’s funded entirely by auction proceeds.
Besides auctions, I have quite a few friends in the business circle. Many of them have their own companies with a lot of models or minor celebrities. I gift so dresses or daily outfits to their companies as part of their wardrobe.
Of course, when I’m filming modern dramas, I sotis bring along clothes I’ve worn a few tis, and after shooting, I donate them to the crew."
Sheng Tang exclaid: "Not a bit wasted!"
Gu Shiyan laughed: "Our family is in business; being shrewd is in our bones, isn’t it?"
Sheng Tang: "..."
Miss Gu is the type of person who, if you give her a bamboo stick, she’ll climb higher, utterly shaless.
Sheng Tang was amused by her.
Song Chen was used to his wife’s self-praise.
But, as Gu Shiyan ntioned, the Gu Family mbers are no fools. They’re kind to their own, but indeed very shrewd with outsiders.
Gu Shiyan is very wealthy and generous but never gives off the vibe of being taken advantage of.
She conducts herself with great discretion.
"I plan to handle it the sa way in the future," Sheng Tang said with a smile, "learning from Sister Feifei."
Song Chen chid in: "You can also do so charity work. Establishing your own charitable organization is better, leaving it to professionals to manage."
"I have that plan," Sheng Tang said. "The film ’Genius Girl’ focuses on a genius girl with a disability, and I want to address the educational issues of disabled children, planning to set up a similar foundation.
Like Sister Feifei, I don’t intend to open it up for public donations. I’ll support its operations with my own earnings and other inco."
"That’s the right approach," Song Chen said. "Value your reputation, and don’t turn charity into a business, since you are actresses, not businesspeople. It’s better for your reputation this way."
Sheng Tang nodded.
They chatted casually as they shopped.
It wasn’t until after 9 PM that they went to a restaurant for dinner.
Upon entering the restaurant, Sheng Tang sensed the presence of caras and whispered sothing to Gu Shiyan.
Gu Shiyan smiled and said to Sheng Tang: "No worries, just paparazzi following us, simply smile."
Sheng Tang agreed.
Later, as they left the restaurant, there were more paparazzi taking pictures from the shadows.
Song Chen purposely walked beside Gu Shiyan.
Gu Shiyan linked her arm through her husband’s while holding Sheng Tang’s hand, smiling brightly.
Sheng Tang listened intently to Gu Shiyan, her face adorned with a radiant smile.
She knew how to smile for the caras to appear her best.
