"’White Snake’?" Sheng Tang noticed the new project proposal and showed so interest.
Liu Taofang was full of enthusiasm.
"This project is sothing I’ve wanted to do for a long ti. But as you know, I’ve had a rough few years, and this project’s investnt is significant, so I couldn’t get it started.
Now that the company is supporting , I’m eager to kickstart this project. It’s about Bai Suzhen’s story," Liu Taofang said.
Sheng Tang nodded, "This project is quite good, with a well-known story background. In today’s popular terms, it’s like borrowing an ancient IP."
"Exactly, exactly." Liu Taofang quickly agreed, "That’s exactly the idea."
"What thoughts does Brother Liu have about the project?" Sheng Tang asked.
Liu Taofang glanced at Cai Xiangsheng beside him.
Cai Xiangsheng wasn’t very old, only thirty-six, with a baby face that made him appear even more youthful.
He was also a producer at the company, but he was relatively inexperienced, so the company wouldn’t assign him big projects independently.
Liu Taofang needed bigger films to solidify his status, while Cai Xiangsheng needed the support of a seasoned producer like Liu Taofang.
Thus, the two collaborated and successfully applied for this project from the company.
If it were only Liu Taofang or Cai Xiangsheng, the company would probably be hesitant to start.
Having multiple producers on a film is common.
"Mr. Sheng, our idea is that the story is set a thousand years before the Legend of White Snake, when Bai Suzhen was already a great Snake Demon, Little Qing was just a newly born small snake, and Xu Xian hadn’t appeared yet.
In those tis, the world was filled with celestial energy, and many people were seeking immortality. Creatures like fully-ford demons were prized hunts for many celestial sects," Cai Xiangsheng introduced.
Sheng Tang chid in, "So, the whole story has a fantasy martial arts background?"
"Yes, it’s fantasy martial arts," Cai Xiangsheng said, "Then, Bai Suzhen and her friend Jiuyan hide from the pursuit of celestial sects, fight against evil factions, but eventually discover that Jiuyan is the real big boss.
Bai Suzhen battles Jiuyan for the sake of the common people and righteousness, loses her power, and becos an ordinary white snake, while a shrine to White Immortal is erected among the people, thanking her for protecting a region."
"The story is quite good." Sheng Tang beca sowhat interested.
This story didn’t exist in her world, but much like ’Who Fears the Workplace’, it sounded like a box-office hit, and Sheng Tang wouldn’t mind acting in it.
"Is Jiuyan female?" Sheng Tang asked again.
"No, Jiuyan is male; he’s a nine-tailed fox," Cai Xiangsheng said, "The whole story needs a romantic elent, where Jiuyan and Bai Suzhen have an ambiguous relationship, but it breaks due to differing paths."
Sheng Tang’s eyes lit up, "I like this idea."
Cai Xiangsheng’s eyes brightened even more, "Mr. Sheng, do you think our project can succeed?"
Sheng Tang was taken aback by his reaction.
She quickly realized that Cai Xiangsheng was sowhat superstitious about her.
He believed that any project Sheng Tang endorsed would surely succeed.
This... this misunderstanding was too big, right?
Even Ding Ruifan and his partner seed to think so.
Sheng Tang felt a bit awkward, "Isn’t this the project you guys already favor?"
"Yes, but with your endorsent, we’d be more confident," Liu Taofang added.
Sheng Tang was helpless, rubbing her forehead.
Cai Xiangsheng continued to explain, "We plan to use direct 3D production instead of post-conversion. Oh, and we’re planning to have a CG character, a very cute red fox, to appeal to younger audiences."
