Sheng Tang accidentally thought of Gu Shiting, and always felt it was a long ti ago.

So long that she had almost forgotten his appearance, the mories had faded.

But seeing him today, it felt like nothing had changed, he was still the sa, seemingly unchanged.

"Where has he been in these five years, and what has he been doing?"

He did not speak to her, does he resent her? At that ti, he knelt on the ground and begged her not to leave, but did he hate her abandonnt after he beca disheartened?

"Maybe." She thought.

She did not know how long she had been lying there.

Voices ca from the living room.

After a while, soone knocked on the door: "Tangtang, co out to eat."

It was Brother Lin Chuan.

The apartnt where Sheng Tang currently lived belonged to Gu Jiahui. The apartnt was quite large, about two hundred square ters, with four guest rooms. Besides Sheng Tang, there was another resident—Gu Jiahui’s cousin, Cheng Lichuan.

Sheng Tang responded from the room: "I’m not hungry, Brother Lin Chuan, I’m on a diet today."

Gu Jiahui’s lazy and casual voice sounded in the living room: "Don’t bother her, just leave her so snacks for later."

There were always voices outside, and the sound of the TV was on.

Sheng Tang thought of many past events again.

After her grandmother passed away, her mother was despondent for more than half a year before she went back to work at the school library.

She would also talk to Sheng Tang.

After handling the family matters, Sheng Tang indeed moved to the school dormitory.

Their dormitory was a four-person room, but two of them almost never stayed there and would occasionally co back to get sothing, leaving just her and her roommate, Hu Xiang’er.

Hu Xiang’er was outgoing, and she and Sheng Tang hit it off imdiately.

The dormitory environnt was simple, and she and Hu Xiang’er got along particularly well, so Sheng Tang’s university life was bearable.

She also tried to please her head teacher like she did in her previous life.

Her head teacher in the previous life was a particularly strict woman with a strong desire for control. It was not easy to win her favor, but Sheng Tang succeeded.

Sheng Tang knew that people with a strong desire for control could not be pleased by obsequiousness alone; you had to be dependable.

If you did things ticulously and never made mistakes, to soone with a strong desire for control, you were a stable elent, within their control; how could they not like you?

Therefore, Sheng Tang’s smooth path in her previous career was greatly helped by her head teacher.

Her head teacher in this world was gentle but indifferent. She seed to care for everyone but actually didn’t place anyone in her heart.

To please such a person, you had to make her understand that she was the most important person in your life. You couldn’t co off as overly versatile, or else she would think you saw her as dispensable, and she would then treat you likewise.

Because of this, Sheng Tang never got close to other teachers. Even if teachers wanted to help her, she declined, focusing solely on the head teacher.

She knew the head teacher had more connections.

Sure enough, she succeeded again.

Among the entire class, the head teacher liked Sheng Tang the most and was particularly partial to her, even giving her many opportunities.

During her third year, Sheng Tang began to have so performances, mostly extra roles in TV dramas.

She was thriving in school, but things at ho were less ideal.

Although her mother did not scold her, she rarely talked to her. When the two were alone together, it was extrely awkward, as neither knew what to say.

In her fourth year, Sheng Tang returned ho midway once.

Her father was on a business trip, her brother was in college, so only her mother was ho.

Sheng Tang went back to get sothing and suddenly found herself in this situation, not knowing what to do.

Her mother, however, did not return to her room after greeting her like usual. She tried hard to improve their relationship and asked, "Have you eaten?"

Sheng Tang shook her head.

"What do you want to eat?"

"Wontons." Sheng Tang said.
