Gu Shiting struggled for a long ti; finally, he steeled himself and decided to go out for a walk tomorrow.
The weekend sky was clear, the azure firmant resembling a pristine jade, without a single cloud.
The sunshine was warm, enveloping him in a golden halo.
Gu Shiting wore sweatpants and sneakers, along with a rather thin long-sleeved T-shirt. He carried a branded baseball jacket in his hand.
He called Sheng Tang, and Sheng Tang agreed.
"Going out?" his father asked him.
Gu Shiting nodded, "I’ve arranged with Tangtang."
After he left, his father stood on the steps at their ho’s front door, looking for quite a long ti.
Then, Mr. Gu said to the newly awakened Mrs. Gu, "It’s been ten years. Ting has only ever gone to school when he went out. He’s locked himself at ho every day, refusing to see anyone or socialize. And today, he’s going to the park to play."
Mrs. Gu gently held her husband’s hand, "I know, dawn has broken, everything is about to get better."
Mr. Gu nodded emphatically.
Gu Shiting’s car waited at the entrance of Sheng Tang’s residential area.
Sheng Tang told her parents she was going out, and her mother asked, "Have you finished your howork?"
"I’ll do it when I get back tonight."
Her grandmother spoke up for Sheng Tang, "Going out for a walk on the weekend—staying at ho is the least promising thing to do."
Sheng Tang quickly had breakfast, and as she was leaving, her grandmother stuffed two hundred yuan into her hand.
"If you eat outside, don’t let your classmate pay," her grandmother said to her. "You shouldn’t be stingy, otherwise people won’t want to play with you."
Sheng Tang smiled sweetly and kissed her grandmother on the cheek, "Thank you, Grandma. I’ll be filial to you forever!"
Her grandmother also smiled.
As Sheng Tang was about to leave, she received a long voice ssage.
It was from Song Chen.
Sheng Tang went to the restroom to check and listened to Song Chen saying, "Today’s outing is on Doctor Sun’s advice. He hopes Sheng Tang can take the young master to a crowded place, even walking for half an hour would be a success."
After listening, Sheng Tang was about to reply when she received another voice ssage.
Song Chen said, "This is the young master’s first ti going sowhere other than school in ten years."
Sheng Tang: "..."
Ten years of only going to school and back ho every day? That’s too pitiful, isn’t it?
Given the Gu Family’s financial resources, even if Gu Shiting wanted to go to heaven, they could get a rocket, yet they were helpless against his illness; it’s really sad.
No wonder they rely so heavily on Sheng Tang.
Sheng Tang felt a bit sorry for Gu Shiting.
He had such a distinguished background and exceptional looks, but was plagued by such a severe illness.
His illness was different from physical diseases; it couldn’t be detected by instrunts, removed by surgical knives, and dicines could only suppress his bodily functions.
He lived so powerlessly.
"Sigh!" Sheng Tang sighed heavily.
She rummaged through her things, took out a pair of sunglasses, put them in her bag, and sent an emoji to Song Chen, before heading out.
As she descended the stairs, her mother was also ready, planning to send her brother to his tutoring class.
Her brother wasn’t good at English and needed extra classes on weekends.
At the entrance of her residential area, Sheng Tang saw Gu Shiting’s car; she already recognized the license plate.
Gu Shiting got out of the car.
He sowhat awkwardly opened the car door for Sheng Tang.
As Sheng Tang got in, her mother’s car just exited the area.
Her brother saw Sheng Tang and shouted, "Mom, it’s sister; sister is there!"
As the car door closed, her mother only had ti to see her profile but confird it was Sheng Tang due to the body shape and the clothes she wore—it couldn’t be mistaken.
Gu Shiting closed the car door properly, then got in.
Both her mother and brother saw him.
Her brother almost dropped his jaw in shock.
Her mother was also bewildered.
