Sheng Tang sat on the couch in the living room watching TV.

Her mother stole a few glances at her, seeing no emotional response, as if she was absorbed by the TV program.

"What great self-control!" Fang ngying thought.

Even Cheng Ruojun couldn’t match this skill.

Sheng Sidong chatted with Grandma for a bit, then ca out of the kitchen and went downstairs.

Sheng Tang and Gu Shiting were watching TV while drinking hot milk, their attitudes indifferent, while Sheng Zong was scratching his head, eager to know what had happened.

He ran to Grandma’s room and leaned against the window to look outside.

Dad and that uncle with the expensive watch were chatting by the car.

Their conversation didn’t seem to be going well.

Dad said a few words and turned to leave, but the uncle grabbed him and wouldn’t let go.

Sheng Zong worried they might fight, afraid Dad wouldn’t be able to win, so he ran downstairs imdiately.

As he was heading out, Fang ngying tried to stop him, "Zong?"

"I’m going to buy so cola." Sheng Zong dashed off.

When he got downstairs, he saw the uncle still holding onto his dad.

"....You’re a father too, can’t you just understand? I just want to see her." the uncle said.

Dad looked troubled.

"Sidong, please, I’m begging you, my brother!" the uncle’s face grew even more sorrowful.

Dad shook off his hand, "I can’t make that decision."

The uncle’s expression changed, and his tone beca malicious, "You’re the pillar of this family, you really can’t make the decision? Sidong, you can’t be this weak..."

Sheng Zong felt very uncomfortable listening to this.

He ran out, "Dad."

The two n stopped talking.

Sheng Sidong patted his son’s head and said to Xu Bingzhi, "You should go ho. It’s New Year, let our family have so peace."

Saying that, he took his son and started walking back.

In the elevator, Sheng Zong asked, "Dad, who is that uncle? Why did he co again?"

Sheng Sidong replied, "An old brother of mine from before."

"What did he want?"

"Academic matters," Sheng Sidong said.

Sheng Zong just said, "Oh," and didn’t ask further, though he was still very curious inside.

When Dad and his brother ca back, Sheng Tang secretly let out a breath of relief.

Grandma went into the kitchen and started busying herself with lunch again.

Mom went to help.

The aroma of the dishes occasionally wafted out from the kitchen, pervading the house, filling it with a warm, hoy atmosphere.

As lunch was about to end, Grandma smiled and said, "We’re going to the countryside tomorrow to visit an old friend. Tangtang, why don’t you take Ting ho today?"

Gu Shiting’s heart skipped a beat.

Did he do sothing wrong?

Why were they driving him away on the second day of the New Year?

He held his chopsticks in a daze, looking at Sheng Tang with a bit of helplessness, hoping for so hint from her.

Sheng Tang smiled slightly, her expression indifferent, "Alright."

Gu Shiting hesitated but said nothing.

"...Didn’t you say Ting was helping you with your math during the break?" Grandma smiled again, "You should go too, don’t let tutoring be delayed. New Year has beco like this, it’ll get even less festive in the future."

The haze over Gu Shiting’s heart instantly cleared away, a golden light shining through.

He couldn’t help but smile.

It turned out to be a false alarm.

"Grandma, I will supervise Tangtang’s studies." Gu Shiting imdiately declared.

Sheng Tang also smiled without objecting.

She knew Grandma didn’t want her to see Xu Bingzhi and that Xu Bingzhi had been persistently pestering lately.

Xu Bingzhi had been doing business abroad, with his company based in New York. Probably because it was New Year, he had so free ti, but not for long.

He would be returning to the United States soon, so he was eager to seize the ti to see Sheng Tang.

Sheng Tang felt no curiosity about Xu Bingzhi at all, even finding him very annoying.

Anyone disturbing her good life now was her enemy!
