Sheng Tang went downstairs and quickly brought back a friend.
The girl was tall and slender, holding a huge basket.
Sheng Tang followed behind, also carrying one.
Professor Sheng and his wife, along with the grandmother, looked over and hurriedly invited the girl to sit inside.
There was no barrier between the Sheng Family’s dining room and living room; the dining room was just slightly more inward. Gu Shiting was eating with his back to the door, he turned his head to glance.
He didn’t recognize her, she wasn’t soone he was wary of, and he wasn’t interested, so he continued eating.
Sheng Tang introduced her to his parents: "This is Li Ye, she used to be in our class but later transferred to another."
His parents rembered Li Ye.
Sheng Tang had once ntioned that a girl at school was being teased by classmates and almost hurt soone, it was Sheng Tang reciting a poem that awakened her.
Later, Sheng Tang also had Gu Shiting’s people intervene to keep the girl at school.
The tall, slender girl in front of them was that girl, Li Ye.
"Hello."
"Hello, Uncle and Aunt, hello, Grandma." Li Ye politely greeted, mistaking Sheng Tang’s grandmother for his grandmother.
Sheng Tang invited her to sit on the sofa.
Li Ye was a bit nervous, she said to Professor Sheng and his wife: "My relatives from the countryside sent so local eggs, my parents asked to bring them to Sheng Tang."
Everyone looked at the two big baskets placed by the door.
From the looks of it, there were about one to two hundred eggs.
"Your parents are too kind!" Fang ngying said, "Nowadays, real local eggs are hard to co by, why bother sending them here?"
"It’s the least we could do." Li Ye said, "If it weren’t for Sheng Tang, I might have been expelled from school. Our family rembers this, we haven’t had a chance to thank Sheng Tang, it’s been weighing on our minds."
Last night, Li Ye suddenly called, and Sheng Tang didn’t recognize her voice at first.
When she was in class, she wasn’t particularly close with Li Ye, and later she switched classes.
She asked for Sheng Tang’s ho address, saying she wanted to visit Sheng Tang and had sothing to discuss.

Li Ye continued to express her thanks repeatedly.
Gu Shiting didn’t turn around; he just listened to the girl, feeling sweet inside.
His Tangtang was the best, and the kindest.
Her small act saved soone’s future, and they were still grateful to her to this day.
Li Ye wasn’t great with words, she kept saying thank you over and over, then stood up to leave.
The Sheng Family tried their best to keep her for lunch.
Li Ye said: "This afternoon, my family is going to the countryside to visit my grandparents, I have to hurry back."
"How can you leave without having lunch?" Grandma insisted she stayed, "It’s not urgent right now."
Sheng Tang saw Li Ye’s unease.
Li Ye was probably giving a gift for the first ti in her life and wasn’t good at interacting with elders, she was now quite uncomfortable.
Sheng Tang empathized with her: "Grandma, it’s near the end of the year, everyone is busy. Once school starts, I will invite classmates over on weekends, and I’ll invite Li Ye then."
She then said to Li Ye, "Lunch is essential, once school starts, I’ll invite Jiang Baocu and so other girls over, you’ll have to co too. My grandma’s cooking is especially delicious, it’d be a sha not to try it."
Li Ye visibly relaxed.
She eagerly nodded: "I will definitely co."
If she had to eat alone with the Sheng Family, she might not even be able to hold her chopsticks steady.
But with many girl classmates, she wouldn’t be as nervous; Sheng Tang’s suggestion suited her perfectly.
Sheng Tang escorted her to the neighborhood entrance, watching her get into a taxi before returning ho.
Grandma and mom had already put the eggs in the kitchen.
"Local eggs are great, nutritious and delicious, and they don’t make you gain weight. Ting will be lucky." Grandma smiled.
Gu Shiting smiled.
He felt very fortunate indeed.
At the Sheng Family, he felt at ho; the first night he slept exceptionally well.
