Sheng Tang lay on the edge of Gu Shiting’s bed, looking at him with a smile in her eyes.
It seed as if his persistence for twelve minutes was an extraordinary achievent.
Any man who was so srized by the girl he loved would feel deeply satisfied, and Gu Shiting was no exception.
"Tangtang," he called her softly, as if in a dream.
Sheng Tang held his hand, "I’m here."
"Co up here," he said.
Sheng Tang hesitated for a mont, then took off her shoes and lay down beside him.
His hands were weak, nearly drained of his spirit, and he held her waist softly, trying to draw her closer.
Understanding his intention, Sheng Tang moved a bit closer to him.
He inhaled the faint fragrance of her hair, the pleasant scent left by her shampoo.
Gu Shiting didn’t want to move at all and fell into a deep sleep.
Sheng Tang dared not move either. Seeing his even breathing, she too felt tired, and fell asleep alongside him.
Mrs. Gu and Mr. Gu quietly ca upstairs to take a look. Seeing them sleeping so peacefully together, they silently retreated.
"Is it better this ti?" Mrs. Gu asked her husband.
Mr. Gu shook his head slightly.
Doctor Sun said the outco this ti was not ideal.
There was a small night light in the room, it wasn’t completely dark. The young master only lasted twelve minutes, indicating the situation was worse than they had imagined.
"... If you really want to cure him completely, dication is still necessary," Doctor Sun said, "Oh, by the way, recently a research institute in Switzerland has developed a new device to treat ntal ailnts. If the clinical feedback is good, we can consider letting Ting try it."
Hope rose again in Mrs. Gu’s heart.
She nodded, "We’ll discuss it when the ti cos."
Sheng Tang woke up after half an hour.
When she awoke, Gu Shiting was still asleep beside her. His face, pale from his illness, now had a bit of color; sleep had given him a good rejuvenation.
She quietly got out of bed.
Doctor Sun hadn’t left yet; he was in Mr. Gu’s study.
The study was on the west side of the first floor, near the back garden, with a large osmanthus tree outside the window.
Sheng Tang knocked and entered.
"... Earlier, we were in the attic watching fireworks. The room was dark, but his reaction was fine," Sheng Tang said, "Can we adjust the night light to be a bit brighter?"
She felt that Gu Shiting’s reaction today was because the overall environnt was too dark.
The small night light provided only a tiny spot of light. They were sitting on the sofa, and the light didn’t reach them, so all Gu Shiting could see was darkness.
In the room, there were no windows, making it even darker than night.
"Even at night, there’s always so light; it’s not truly pitch-black," Sheng Tang said again.
Doctor Sun smiled, always maintaining a kind attitude, "I understand your aning. But Ting’s situation is a fear of darkness. If we adjust the night light to be brighter, the test becos aningless for him."
Sheng Tang was silent for two seconds.
She looked at Doctor Sun with clear eyes, "Actually, you have already told us that this thod has little hope, haven’t you?"
Doctor Sun nodded.
He tried to explain to Sheng Tang what exactly was wrong with Gu Shiting.
But Sheng Tang understood.
A ntal disorder is not a simple phobia. It’s like depression, which is caused by neuroendocrine issues, not sothing that can be cured by rely saying "be happy" or "take it easy."
Gu Shiting was the sa now.
He needed dication.
Doctor Sun and the Gu family husband and wife thought Sheng Tang was going to say sothing: to give up such attempts or to have Gu Shiting use dication.
But Sheng Tang didn’t say anything.
She simply stood up and said to them, "I’ll go check the kitchen..."
"Check the kitchen for what?" Mrs. Gu asked curiously.
