Sheng Tang took a look; it was Gu Shiting.
She answered it.
On the other end, Gu Shiting’s voice sounded very forlorn: "Did you sing?"
"Yeah."
Jiang Baocu looked at her curiously. Since the two were close, she could hear a bit of the voice from the phone. She recognized it as a pleasant-sounding male voice.
Sheng Tang didn’t have many close male friends.
"...I went to the library. I didn’t go to the auditorium." Gu Shiting sounded quite regretful.
The last ti he had gone to the auditorium unexpectedly was because he knew Sheng Tang was receiving an award for her poetry, and he wanted to see her accept it.
This ti, Sheng Tang wasn’t originally scheduled to perform.
Gu Shiting missed it, and he felt really bad about it.
"It’s okay. I sang very roughly." Sheng Tang said.
"Can you co to my house for dinner tomorrow?" Gu Shiting asked.
Sheng Tang nodded.
After hanging up, Jiang Baocu nosily asked who it was.
Sheng Tang smiled. "A friend."
"What kind of friend?"
"Senior, Gu Shiting, from third year." Sheng Tang said.
Jiang Baocu: "..."
She rolled her eyes and said Sheng Tang was being unkind. If she didn’t want to say, she could just not say it. Why lie to her on purpose?
Sheng Tang burst into laughter.
"...Honestly, Gu Shiting treats you differently." Jiang Baocu said. "Rember last ti he fixed your clothes for you?"
"Yeah, I feel like it’s not ordinary either." Sheng Tang said.
Jiang Baocu: "..."
Don’t be so narcissistic, Sheng Tang. I can’t continue this conversation with you. Aren’t you supposed to vehently deny it and let tease you a bit?
Compared to Sheng Tang, Jiang Baocu wasn’t a match in thick-skinnedness. She gave up, not daring to tease Sheng Tang again.
They were about to finish their drinks when a few more students walked into the dessert shop.
They were all wearing Huishi High School uniforms.
One of them, tall and noticeable in the crowd, wore glasses and had a scholarly air. He was Gu Jiahui from the student council.
Jiang Baocu liked Gu Jiahui very much, and her face turned slightly red instantly: "See? Senior Brother Gu."
Sheng Tang glanced up and imdiately t Gu Jiahui’s gaze.
Gu Jiahui, that guy, knew all sorts of secrets but still pretended to be gentle and innocent, like an overly disguised snake.
Sheng Tang felt inexplicably wary of him.
She rarely feared anyone, especially a student so young.
Gu Jiahui gave her a very bad feeling, very deep and sinister.
Yet Jiang Baocu thought he was gentle and polite, like a guy in a comic book.
"Hello." Gu Jiahui walked over and deliberately sat next to Sheng Tang, talking to Jiang Baocu, "Are you feeling better?"
Jiang Baocu’s face turned slightly red: "I’m fine now, thank you for your concern, Senior Brother."
"It’s good that you’re okay." Gu Jiahui smiled.
Jiang Baocu rembered her excuse for a stomach upset, and now she felt a bit embarrassed eating dessert.
Gu Jiahui seed unaware of this and didn’t ask more questions.
He was always just right, never making anyone feel uncomfortable.
After greeting Jiang Baocu, he slightly turned to Sheng Tang: "That song, it was really good. Just now, as we were leaving, the principal was saying we should have soone sing it and make it our school song."
"Really?" Jiang Baocu was overjoyed.
Sheng Tang’s expression was unchanged: "Will the school pay royalties?"
Jiang Baocu: "...."
In the face of such an honor, Sheng Tang was thinking about royalties. Jiang Baocu was at a loss for words.
Gu Jiahui smiled: "They definitely will. Huishi is rich; you know that, Sheng Tang."
He seed to imply sothing.
Jiang Baocu didn’t understand.
Sheng Tang pretended to be casual: "I’ve won many awards before. Indeed, Huishi is very generous with money."
Jiang Baocu suddenly realized.
