Hearing Dumbledore’s words, Harry fell into deep thought.
He thought of his mother, his father and Sirius. He thought of all the terrible deeds he knew Lord Voldemort had done. A fla seed to leap inside his chest, searing his throat.
“I’d want him finished,” said Harry quietly. “And I’d want to do it.”
“Of course you would!” cried Dumbledore. “You see, the prophecy does not an you have to do anything! But the prophecy caused Lord Voldemort to mark you as his equal. … In other words, you are free to choose your way, quite free to turn your back on the prophecy! But Voldemort continues to set store by the prophecy. He will continue to hunt you, and you will rise up to fight back. So it is indeed inevitable, this is the prophecy…”
“This is the prophecy…” Evan repeated it in a low voice.
In other words, if both parties didn’t care and ignored each other, the prophecy would beco invalid.
If it weren’t for the prophecy, if Voldemort hadn’t killed Harry’s parents and personally chosen him as his equal, what connection could there possibly be between the most evil Dark Lord in history and a student at a Wizarding school?
The answer would be: none. If Voldemort hadn’t fixated on Harry, Harry would just be an ordinary student.
He might have opposed Voldemort because of his parents, like Ron or Neville, but he wouldn’t have been treated specially, wouldn’t have played a pivotal role, and certainly wouldn’t be seen as the Chosen One or be so strongly supported and aided by Dumbledore.
It was the prophecy that made Harry the Chosen One, Voldemort’s destined enemy.
The prophecy had an impact on Voldemort, making him believe it, and thus leading to so many things happening later.
This is the role of a prophecy. It is not a prediction of the future, but a fuse that affects the future. Because the people who hear the prophecy believe that it will happen and has the ability to influence the future, then things are very likely to happen according to the prophecy.
After studying the cause and effect relationship before and after the prophecy, many things seed to beco clear all of a sudden.
Harry beca Voldemort’s enemy because of the prophecy, so what about Evan, who was also Voldemort’s enemy?
He was not the Chosen One, nor was he selected by Voldemort, but he was indeed regarded as an important enemy by Voldemort. However, after several consecutive events, Evan might now be second only to Dumbledore and Harry in Voldemort’s hatred.
What was going on here? Thinking carefully, explaining it through magic, it also seed to co down to a prophecy…
If the prophecy worked the way Dumbledore said, then suddenly things started to make more sense to Evan.
He had no direct connection to Voldemort, yet he appeared in the visions of the ancient Titans, the prophets, the Four Founders of Hogwarts, and the Slytherin vampire. He had heard prophecies about himself from Elaine, Nicolas Flal, and Lady Ravenclaw. These prophecies didn’t ntion Voldemort — but they clearly and unmistakably involved Evan and the evil god.
Evan’s relationship with the evil god was like Harry’s relationship with Voldemort. They were destined enemies.
The difference from Harry and Voldemort’s prophecy was that, at first, neither Evan nor the evil god even knew of the other’s existence. But those who heard the prophecy, those powerful spellcasters capable of altering ti and space, believed there was a connection between them.
Evan traveled through ti to this magical world in order to deal with the threat of the evil god.
He had nothing to do with Voldemort, but because he arrived at just the right mont, he mistakenly believed that he ca for this purpose, and inserted himself in the magical war between Dumbledore, Harry, and Voldemort, which connected all the things together…
Therefore, Evan felt that because of his appearance and what he did, the originally simple things beca more and more troubleso. Everything he did seed aid at solving problems, yet at every critical mont, sothing would go wrong, throwing everything off course.
This was of course, because he was the source of new troubles!
Without his appearance, the course of events between Harry and Voldemort would have followed the original trajectory.
At this mont, he should have been studying the whereabouts of the remaining Horcruxes with Dumbledore.
Due to the appearance and intervention of Evan, things had changed greatly and developed in a more troubleso direction.
The most terrifying thing about Voldemort was not the Horcruxes, but the combination of him and the evil god.
What was the evil god? It never even appeared in the original story.
Of course it would not appear. That was the change brought about by Evan’s ti travel. He used the plot and hints he knew to destroy Voldemort. It seed that he had the advantage of foreknowledge, and for a ti, it looked like he was solving problems and enjoying the convenience that knowledge brought. But in reality, he was intertwining his own troubles into the main storyline of Harry and Voldemort’s battle…
So things that should have been simple and low-stakes beca far more complicated. That was because Evan himself was the complication.
Being a “transmigrator” didn’t just an having the advantage of knowing the plot; it also ca with his own entangled fate.
Evan’s thoughts drifted further and further on this matter, while the conversation between Harry and Dumbledore continued.
“One of us is going to end up killing the other,” said Harry.
“Yes,” said Dumbledore. “Only one of you will survive in the end, but not because of the prophecy. It’s because of your choice. You’ve chosen to fight Voldemort to the end. The love hidden deep within you and the evil that Voldemort represents, between those two, only one can remain. You will win, Harry. I believe it.”
Harry nodded. He understood at last what Dumbledore had been trying to tell him. It was, he thought, the difference between being dragged into the arena to face a battle to the death and walking into the arena with your head held high. So people, perhaps, would say that there was little to choose between the two ways, but Dumbledore knew — and so do I, thought Harry, with a rush of fierce pride, and so did my parents — that there was all the difference in the world…

There was no doubt that the late-night conversation between Evan, Harry, and Dumbledore had been incredibly rewarding for them.
Though it was tiring, it helped them clarify many of their doubts.
What remained now seed relatively simple: as long as Dumbledore made the proper preparations in Azkaban, Evan and the others could follow him there to destroy the final part of the evil god left behind by Slytherin — the brain — and obtain the Twin Serpent Staff and Slytherin’s treasure key.
Then, in the sumr vacation a few months later, or even earlier, they would infiltrate the Gringotts vault and retrieve the Golden Cup.
While destroying that Horcrux, they would follow the clues to the ho of the house-elves and take Hufflepuff’s treasure key.
Finally, they would return to Hogwarts to open the secret treasure left behind by the Four Founders and resolve the magic concerning the evil god.
At that point, they could find a way to remove the Horcrux inside Harry and let him defeat Voldemort…
If nothing unexpected happened, it would be that simple.
