Because of Evan’s information, Ginny suddenly beca very upset and was thinking of new ways to drive Fleur away.
Before they could co up with anything to discuss, the door was pushed open again and Mrs. Weasley popped her head in.
“Ginny,” she whispered, “co downstairs and help with the lunch.”
“I’m talking to this lot!” said Ginny, outraged.
“Now!” said Mrs. Weasley, and withdrew.
“She only wants there so she doesn’t have to be alone with Phlegm!” said Ginny crossly.
She swung her long red hair around in a very good imitation of Fleur and pranced across the room with her arms held aloft like a ballerina.
“You lot had better co down quickly too,” she said as she left.
“I really don’t know why she’s so prejudiced against Fleur,” said Ron absentmindedly.
“Because she’s turned you into this,” Hermione replied angrily. “If Lavender…”
Evan really didn’t want to talk about love topics. They had no say in who Bill would marry in the end. Moreover, he felt that although Fleur had many shortcomings, she was not as bad as Hermione and Ginny thought. However, girls’ perspectives and directions on looking at a person were obviously different from boys’.
They simply didn’t like Fleur and wished Bill would marry soone else.
On this topic, Evan, Harry and Ron together were no match for either Hermione or Ginny.
“By the way, Hermione, how have you been contacting Elaine?” Evan asked, changing the subject. “When will she co back from Norway? Will she co to the Burrow? Do we need to write a letter to inform her?”
“Better write one just in case,” said Hermione. “In her last letter, she only ntioned that she’d be back before school starts, which is in a few days. But I doubt she’ll co to the Burrow. The Ministry is keeping this place under close surveillance. Even though the Ministry has dropped their charges, being a vampire is still a sensitive issue. Many people still believe they were working with Voldemort and planned those attacks. Elaine and Caresius don’t trust the Ministry either…”
“No one can trust the Ministry of Magic. They can’t get anything right,” Evan took out so parchnt to write a letter to Elaine.
“Exactly, just look at the current situation — it’s getting worse every day,” Ron agreed. “Wizards are afraid to show their faces, scared they’ll be targeted by Death Eaters. I never knew there were so many Dark wizards around. Diagon Alley has gotten much quieter, but Fred and George’s shop is doing unbelievably well.”
“We heard Mrs. Weasley talk about them last night, and she said they have got a real flair for business,” said Harry.
“That’s an understatent,” said Ron. “They’re raking in Galleons! I can’t wait to see the place. By the way, Evan, do you know what their store looks like?”
“I don’t know. I haven’t been to Diagon Alley for a long ti,” said Evan as he wrote to Elaine, informing her that he was back in England and asking when she’d return. “I originally wanted to hand over Sirius’s shop to them for managent, but Fred said that the upstairs there was a newspaper office and it was not suitable for a joke shop, so he and George rented a shop outside and designed it according to their own ideas. By the way, they are also willing to help showcase the new broomstick…”
The broomstick Starcatcher, the result of last sumr’s hard work, was still in the product display stage and hadn’t been made available for sale.
Evan hadn’t had ti to oversee the production of these brooms, and now was not the right ti to be thinking about brooms.
“The shop must be amazing; otherwise there wouldn’t be so many people visiting. To be honest, we haven’t been to Diagon Alley this year,” said Ron longingly. “Mum says Dad’s got to be there for extra security and he’s been really busy at work, I don’t know if he’ll have ti.”
“Dumbledore said that we can go to Diagon Alley in a few days, and people from the Ministry of Magic will accompany us the whole ti…”
“Really? This arrangent is simply amazing!”
“If Elaine can co back by then, we can et in Diagon Alley.”
As Evan spoke, he handed the letter to Hermione, asking her to check it over.
He didn’t say much in it. After all, owl post was not very safe and the contents might be leaked.
“By the way, how’s Percy?” asked Harry. “Is he talking to your mum and dad again?”
“Nope,” said Ron, shaking his head.
“But he knows your dad was right all along now about Voldemort being back —”
“People find it far easier to forgive others for being wrong than being right,” said Hermione, adding a few words on the letter and handing it back to Evan.
“Sounds like the sort of ntal thing Dumbledore would say.”
“He’s going to be giving and Evan private lessons this year,” said Harry conversationally.
Hearing this, Ron choked on his bit of toast.
“He’s going to give you and Evan lessons?” he said in disbelief.
“Yes, that’s what he told . It was in your broom shed last night,” said Harry, turning to look at Evan. “Do you know what this is about? Is it related to the prophecy?”
At that ti in Dumbledore’s office, both Evan and Harry had heard the prophecy in the prophecy orb.
Knowing that Voldemort had chosen Harry, they were destined to be rivals, and only one person would be surviving in the end.
“It is indeed related to the prophecy,” said Evan after thinking for a while.
“Wait, what’s the content of the prophecy?” Ron couldn’t help asking, “You…”
Before he could finish his words, Hermione stopped him, “Shh!”
After Dumbledore’s frank conversation that day, Evan did not tell anyone about the prophecy and the content of the conversation he had heard, not even to Hermione. After all, these things were related to Harry and concerned his life and death.
It was Harry’s choice whether to tell it or not.
Ron, Hermione, Elaine and all the other people who knew what happened that night seed to have reached so kind of agreent and tacitly did not ask about it, and so it had remained unspoken until today…
“It’s nothing, actually. There have been a lot of speculations about the prophecy, and so of them are correct,” said Harry, taking a deep breath. “From the prophecy, it looks like I’m the one who’s got to finish off Voldemort. … At least, it said neither of us could live while the other survives.”
No one spoke; Hermione and Ron seed to be digesting what Harry had just said.
“So that’s what the prophecy said — you’re the one to defeat Voldemort, Harry,” Ron said slowly. “That’s why Dumbledore wants to teach you, to train you in more magic so you can defeat him.”
“Not just , but Evan as well, and I don’t know what exactly he’s going to teach us.”
“Apart from magic, he’s mainly going to help us understand Voldemort’s past and how to defeat him,” said Evan. “Actually, when Hermione and I were away from Hogwarts, Dumbledore ntioned this to and hinted that he intended to give the two of us private lessons.”
He stood up, intending to ask Hedwig to deliver the letter, but he noticed that the dead vole on the floor was gone.
Hedwig was quietly perched in her cage, probably having taken care of it after returning last night.
After all, being an owl, she had no habit of wasting food.
