Chapter 87: Hunting Trip

The sun ca down, allowing the sky to darken and the full moon to be displayed in all its glory.

Remus's transformation comnced soon after. Thanks to Jas's potion, it went smoothly and without the usual unpleasant sensation as his body morphed and lost control.

The others waited patiently for his changes to end, not taking their eyes off him as his body grew in size and turned into a terrifying werewolf.

Remus, now in his bestial form, let out a soft growl before looking at Jas, Sirius, and Peter.

They had been through this before, so none of them were worried about being attacked.

Remus's eyes soon recovered their usual light, and they all knew he was in full control of his senses.

"You okay there, buddy?" Sirius asked.

Remus could not speak, but he nodded his head.

"Let's go outside then," Jas told them, walking at a brisk pace through the secret tunnel that led back to the tree covering the entrance.

He scanned the area with his eyes to make sure no students were around, not that it was likely for anyone to be out here at this hour of the night.

Remus left the safety of their hideout, quickly followed by Peter and Sirius, who had already transford into their Animagus forms.

"Co here, Peter." Jas knelt down and placed his palm close to the floor so Peter could easily climb up.

He then placed the brown rat on his shoulders before he also began to transform into a majestic silver stag.

Peter managed to stay on top of him by using his little hands to hold onto his fur.

Jas tapped his hooves on the ground a few tis as a signal to depart and then began to run towards the forest.

Sirius and Remus had no trouble keeping up at his current speed, although Jas was aware that he could go many tis faster than this...far beyond what any normal animal could achieve.

They entered the forest, with Jas acting as the guide, running between the trees with extre precision as Peter held on as best he could to his silvery fur.

The Black Forest was massive in size, at least ten tis bigger than the rest of the Hogwarts grounds combined. Watching it from the highest floor of the castle, one could see it stretched into the horizon with no end in sight.

The forest was also magical in nature, and as such, it was ho to countless species of magical beings. So of them were completely harmless, while others should be avoided at all costs.

Jas was fairly familiar with this forest. Although he was nowhere near an expert like Hagrid, he at least knew his way around it.

He also knew he could find so targets for the demonstration he had promised his friends.

The nest of Acromantulas was two miles north of his current position, but he had no plans of going directly there. Aragog, the mother of all these Acromantulas, hadn't done anything that would justify being exterminated.

However, her children were a lot more dangerous and savage.

Usually, the centaurs were the ones who patrolled the area surrounding the nest and eliminated any Acromantula that ventured too far.

Tonight, Jas was going to be performing that task.

"Grrrrr…" Jas could hear the growling coming from Sirius, who was right behind him.

Remus reached his side and made a similar sound.

Jas understood what they ant. His friends were trying to warn him of the danger ahead. They must have caught the scent of so Acromantulas already.

The silver stag shook its horns and hoped Sirius and Remus would understand that he was telling them not to worry.

Jas increased his speed. His sense of sll was not as sharp as theirs, but his eyesight was excellent, even inside this forest in the middle of the night, he could see everything clearly.

Like the three Acromantulas climbing onto so nearby trees.

Peter started to make squeaky noises and pulled at Jas's fur as hard as he could. It was obvious that he had also detected the creatures ahead and was getting worried.

Jas wished he could tell his friend that everything was under control. But soon, there would be no need for that. He just had to show them.

The Acromantulas didn't make a sound as the silver stag approached.

They stayed hidden in the trees and waited for their prey to get close enough before launching their attack.

It was too bad for them… this stag was no prey.

The two horns on the stag's head began to glow and emit sparks of electricity.

This startled Peter, who tried to bury himself in the fur on Jas's back.

Sirius and Remus reacted to this and created so distance between themselves and Jas.

The Acromantulas must have sensed the danger then and attempted to retreat by jumping onto the ground and crawling away.

Sparks traveled across the stag's silver fur and reached his legs.

The distance between him and the Acromantulas was still about thirty yards.

Jas pushed his body a little more… and reached his targets in a fraction of a second.

-Crack-

The sparks on his horns transford into bolts of lightning that imdiately struck their targets.

The three Acromantulas didn't have ti to make a sound of complaint as their bodies were pierced by white bolts of electricity that incinerated them from the inside, killing them instantly.

Jas stood there and waited for a mont, to make sure no other dangers were around, before he reverted to his human form.

"How was it?"

Peter reverted from his rat form. He had just jumped off Jas's back after the Acromantulas were killed.

"What was that?!" He wasn't sure what he was more afraid of, the spiders or the lightning bolts that killed them.

"Whoa!" Sirius arrived at his side. "That was incredible! The deer can shoot lightning?!"

"Yes, I can, and it's and stag…wait." Jas's eyes beca sharp.

Remus growled.

"Stay calm, we have company," Jas said.

They heard the sound of approaching steps.
