Chapter 219: Too Naive

Jas pretended not to notice anything and continued walking.

For a mont, he considered flying over the alley, leaving those people behind and proceeding directly to the Leaky Cauldron since they weren't going to attack him in a more public place.

But then a more devious idea occurred to him.

There was one particular ingredient he could obtain right now if he played his cards right.

'I was planning on looking for so deserving victims later on, but… this could save ti.' Of course, it would depend on who they were and the nature of their intentions.

With this in mind, Jas changed his route and went to a more open area inside Knockturn Alley while keeping track of his followers.

'Six? No… maybe eight.' They weren't very good at hiding their movents, aning that they were very inexperienced.

Jas was sure that this had nothing to do with the bounty that the Rosier House had placed on him, as that one went away after he destroyed that family.

But then again, soone else could have done the sa after all.

A couple more minutes passed, and Jas found an appropriate place before stopping. Then he reached into his robes and pulled sothing out.

"What is he doing?" one of the pursuers whispered to his partners. They were all hiding on the nearest corner, taking turns to peek at Jas.

They were all dressed in different types of clothing but the one thing they had in common was the white masks covering their faces.

"Shh! Be quiet. What if he hears us?" another one said.

"Impossible, we are too far away."

"Hey, he took sothing from his robes!"

"A portkey perhaps?"

They looked at each other with worry reflected in their eyes. None of them wanted to let their chance go away.

"We can't let him escape."

"I agree. This may be the only opportunity to get in the Dark Lord's good side. Maybe we can even join the inner circle."

"Okay," the oldest one in the group decided to take charge. "You three will run directly at him and distract him so he can't escape. The rest of us will go around the narrow passages and surround him. Then we all attack together."

"Do we have to kill him?"

"Ehm… I believe it would be better if we can bring him alive."

With a plan in mind, these new Death Eaters decided to begin their assault imdiately, as they were worried that Jas would activate a portkey and get away.

However, what Jas was doing had nothing to do with escaping.

What he had pulled out of his robes was a miniaturized cauldron, which he promptly placed on the ground and enlarged until it was twice as big as himself.

Just then, three of the followers revealed their presence while running directly at him and shouting his na.

"Potter!"

"You are dead!"

Jas turned to glance at them and imdiately recognized the masks.

'So they are Death Eaters after all… that makes things easier for .'

He carefully observed their movents. By the way they were performing full wand motions and chanting their spells out loud, Jas guessed these boys were even more inexperienced than he first expected; he wouldn't be surprised if they were boys and girls who had just graduated from school.

This didn't really change much. Jas was not willing to show rcy to anyone who chose to follow Voldemort.

At the end of the day, the Dark Lord was nothing but a symptom of a major problem this country had. But his followers were the true disease that had to be eliminated.

His attackers finally finished their spells: two stunners and one paralyzing charm.

Jas rely deflected them with the back of his hand after coating it with a thin layer of protection.

Even with the masks, he could see how shocked the three boys were.

'These people… had no idea what they were getting into,' Jas realized.

"You are all new graduates, but not from Hogwarts, aren't you?" At this point, there wouldn't be anyone in that school who would think an attack like that had a chance of working against him. But if they ca from a different part of the country, that would make more sense.

They didn't answer his question and instead looked at each other, wondering what to do next.

"Were you trying to make ti for the rest of your friends to surround ?" Jas asked. "Well, that didn't work."

This surprised the three boys again.

"What?!"

"How did you know t—"

"Shut up!"

Jas shook his head. 'Where did Voldemort find these guys?' It was likely that he had recruited the rest from the other schools in Britain.

Not counting Hogwarts, there were three of them. Their level of education could not compare, but then again, they didn't have the funding that Hogwarts did, so their standard for graduation was much lower, making it very difficult for their students even to pass their O.W.L.s ...forget about N.E.W.T.s.

"It's okay, I can wait." Jas snapped his fingers, and the three boys heard the sound of glass breaking at their feet.

None of them noticed when Jas had placed that vial on the floor, but the mont it broke, a grey smoke erged quickly, covering their bodies.

And before they could escape, the boys found that they could no longer move or control their bodies in any way. They had beco completely paralysed, except for their eyes.

"Now!"

A loud shout was then heard, and the next instant five more individuals erged from different locations.

So ca from the road on the other side, while a couple of them had managed to climb onto the roofs of the nearby houses and jumped down from there.

"Johs? rlin, are they okay?"

"What did you do to them?!" They were distracted for a mont when they saw the state their companions were in.

"Silence!" The leader took charge and pointed his wand at Jas. "Surrender your wand, Potter. You have no chance to escape!"

Jas glanced back at him. "Escape? No… I have other plans for you." Black flas ford in the palm of his left hand.
