Trauma treatnt had always been a cornerstone of the traditional Defense Against the Dark Arts curriculum. Even though the course's na had been changed, William had no intention of removing this essential component from his lessons.
In the past, considering that seventh-year students were expected to participate in internships, he had converted the first three lessons into preparatory courses tailored to internship requirents. This approach allowed students to be introduced to knowledge beyond what they encountered at school.
However, in light of current circumstances, teaching students trauma care and ergency survival techniques seed equally critical. While banning two professors from performing a play over re speculation might be excessive, no one could fault William for taking proactive steps to ensure his students could protect themselves.
The only issue is that the students won't be very enthusiastic about this. While I had planned ahead, I'm still not fully prepared to switch the lesson topic on short notice; William thought, observing the students' reactions.
It was evident that their engagent level was much lower than it had been in the previous lesson, this was unavoidable. William wasn't a seasoned professor who could effortlessly teach a class without constantly referencing his notes.
Halfway through the lecture, the students' attention began to wane noticeably. Left with no choice, William set aside his prepared teaching materials and decided to lighten the mood with a joke.
"Everyone seems a bit unmotivated. Well, that's understandable. But I can't exactly injure one of you and have the rest practice treating them, can I? How about this instead; You fight each other, and we'll pick the student with the most visually interesting injury for treatnt. The more severe the injury, the more points you'll earn."
"Professor, shouldn't the points go to the opponent?"
"Exactly, exactly! Points could also be awarded based on the quality of the treatnt!"
In an instant, the previously drowsy students perked up and began chiming in energetically. As they spoke, they stood up, pulled out their wands, and started maneuvering desks and chairs to the edges of the classroom.
William stood there, dumbfounded by their adept movents. I was just joking to liven things up. What are you all doing? Are you really this eager to take action?
However, he wasn't one to spoil the fun. The curriculum already included duel practice, and advancing the schedule wasn't a big deal. Seeing their enthusiasm, he decided to go with the flow and switch the lesson from theory to practice.
Crossing his arms with a smile, William watched the students quickly rearrange the classroom. Once they were finished, he addressed them with a grin.
"Those who started moving first, good initiative! You each get one point. Now, help restore the classroom when we're done. Everyone else, follow . I've just prepared a classroom for dueling practice yesterday."
(?_?)
Leaving behind a few stunned students to tidy up the room, William led the rest to the practice classroom he had set up the previous day. It was better equipped with protective asures and stocked with potions, ensuring that even if the students got into trouble, things wouldn't spiral out of control.
Since being cursed, William had spent considerable ti mastering healing and restorative spells. After coming to Hogwarts, he dedicated a significant portion of his efforts to this area. To put it bluntly, even if one of these students broke a leg, William could handle it smoothly; At least ensuring that the injury wouldn't worsen during transport or that they wouldn't miss the critical window for treatnt.
"All right, let's wait for the remaining students to join us. In the anti, let's set up the dueling equipnt. I'm sure none of you would enjoy collapsing onto a bare floor."
William waved his hands energetically, directing the increasingly enthusiastic students to prepare the training equipnt, even though he didn't believe anything major would happen during the lesson.
To be honest, for injuries serious enough to require ergency treatnt to occur, the students would have to go all out, which William had no intention of encouraging. He had carefully avoided pairing students from rival houses to ensure no deep-seated grudges would lead to real harm.
If anyone does manage to sustain an injury that severe, so be it. At least here, I can supervise. Every year, students end up in the Hospital Wing because they go too far in private duels. I might as well keep an eye on things; he thought.
Wands were far more dangerous than swords. Training people to duel with swords required preparation for bleeding, and expecting no bloodshed during wizard duels was simply unrealistic. Hogwarts' Hospital Wing wasn't equipped for inpatient care just for show—its expertise was built on more than theoretical knowledge from textbooks.

It didn't take long for the students left behind to clean the classroom to join the others in the dueling room. At William's instruction, they quickly organized themselves into teams.
"All right, based on the registration order, each pair will duel. Stop attacking as soon as I call ti. Victory will be determined if your opponent is disard or knocked down. Dark Arts is strictly prohibited—any use will result in imdiate detention," William declared.
He had banned most offensive spells outright, there was no choice. Too many Dark Arts caused permanent injuries.
Even with such restrictions, the students were clearly having fun. Most classes didn't allow dueling between students, and dueling on school grounds usually resulted in detention or point deductions. This class's popularity largely stemd from the opportunity for students to engage in magical combat openly and without fear of punishnt.
By the ti the final two pairs were up, the most serious issue William had dealt with was a student who knew how to cast a curse effectively but hadn't learned the counter-curse. For this, William had deducted two points.
"Next pair, get ready," William announced lazily.
His original lesson had been about the injuries caused by various spells. The students had been initially excited about the topic, but now? Not a single drop of blood had been spilled. These seventh-years, stressed about their looming job prospects, seed to treat this as a chance to blow off steam.
Fine, let them have their fun. I'll bring in so rabbits next ti. They need practical experience in treatnt anyway. I rushed this lesson, so I'll let them off the hook for now; he thought.
But the sudden tension in the room told William that this wasn't going to be just another lighthearted duel. He glanced at the roster again and realized the issue. This pair included one Slytherin and one Gryffindor.
"Prepare yourselves, and rember the rules! Dark Arts is strictly forbidden!" William reiterated firmly, bracing himself for what might follow.
If I see any high-powered spells, I'll separate them imdiately. Be ready with a Shield Charm and a Disarming Spell; he thought, focusing intently on the pair.
The two students drew their wands quickly, their movents accompanied by the collective held breath of the watching crowd.
The simultaneous appearance of shimring shields earned an internal nod of approval from William. However, as the duel progressed to the next spell, his eyes widened.
Wait, that kid—no way!
In an instant, William cast a Bubble-Head Charm on himself. A large, foul-slling dungbomb flew through the air at alarming speed, hitting the opposing student squarely.
The stench spread quickly through the room. For a mont, the victim stood frozen, clutching the exploded dungbomb. Then, abandoning all reason and even his wand, he charged forward, ready to settle things the Muggle way.
The already narrow dueling area was crossed in an instant, and to William's astonishnt, the two students began wrestling each other.
Where are the curses? The Disarming Spells? Are you two even wizards?
William glanced up at the ceiling, then decided not to call for a stop just yet.
