Ciel looked at the Troll Communication Charm that Quirrell had left on the parchnt years ago. His expression showed amazent. This spell wasn't particularly complex, but its principles were completely different from any spells he had encountered.
Rather than focusing on the use of magical power, it emphasised ntal strength. It seed to be a spell created based on ntal magic fundantals like Occluncy and Legilincy.
"However, unlike the Legilincy Charm, which reads others' mories, this Troll Communication Charm concentrates one's ntal power through magic and infuses it into another's mind to achieve the purpose of dialogue and communication within their mind. It might even directly control the target through ntal manipulation!"
His eyes blazed with excitent. This was sowhat similar to the Imperius Curse among the Unforgivables. What Quirrell now used to control troll movents might be this very Troll Communication Charm.
But monts later, he realised sothing crucial. Quirrell, who hadn't graduated yet at the ti, naturally couldn't have created sothing comparable to the Imperius Curse, much less boldly published it in a paper. Otherwise, forget about getting a Hogwarts teaching position later... he'd probably have been thrown into Azkaban long ago!
The Troll Communication Charm's ideals were lofty, but reality was harsh. The reason was simple. The key to the Imperius Curse's successful control of targets was clearly written in the original story. After being hit by the Imperius Curse, there would be a blissful, floating sensation of comfort. The controlled target would therefore relax their ntal defences and obey the caster's commands.
But the Troll Communication Charm wasn't so sophisticated. Its principle was direct contact through ntal power to achieve dialogue, communication, and even control. This required ensuring the caster and communication target had vast differences in ntal strength. Otherwise, it would be easy to lose control of the situation.
This extre demand for ntal power made the Troll Communication Charm unusable on normal humans. It only worked relatively well on trolls. Even current Quirrell would find controlling trolls quite taxing.
Otherwise, in the original story, when Harry broke through the Philosopher's Stone obstacles, he shouldn't have seen just an unconscious troll but rather a troll completely devoted to Quirrell. Therefore, the Troll Communication Charm could at best be called an ingenious creation... alluring in prospect but impossible for normal people to achieve.
But his eyes grew brighter and brighter. Normal people's ntal power was limited, far from reaching the threshold needed for the Troll Communication Charm to work in other situations. But he could enhance his ntal power by harvesting Chizpurfle grass.
If ntal power reached Platinum or even Diamond tier, would it be possible to completely control trolls or even affect human minds? Going even further, when reaching Epic or Legendary tiers, might the Troll Communication Charm have effects comparable to or even surpassing the Imperius Curse when used on wizards?
This spell wasn't classified as an Unforgivable Curse. That would make it his exclusive "Imperius Curse", usable at will without worrying about the troubles associated with Unforgivable Curses.
Additionally, even without considering this spell's potential as an Unforgivable Curse, its characteristic of concentrating ntal power was quite worthy of study for him. With sufficient mastery of the Troll Communication Charm, Occluncy could also benefit trendously. Even the depth of his flow states might increase further.
Thoughts swirled through his mind before settling into calm. No amount of thinking was better than actually trying it. He drew his wand, holding it before his brow with the tip lightly touching his forehead. His Occluncy mastery activated... mind serene, spirit focused, concentrated to the extre.
Then his left index finger touched his temple, forming a triangular closed circuit. The wand then pointed outward. "Corde Animarum!"
He imdiately felt his ntal power beco more concentrated than before, almost taking physical form as it surged through his wand. On the system panel, new text ford in the abilities section:
[Troll Communication Charm (Bronze Tier)]!
His eyes showed understanding. "It's because of my Occluncy mastery. Indeed, Occluncy is the foundation for many ntal magics. Building this foundation makes learning ntal magic twice as effective, even allowing one to achieve considerable mastery right from the start, as I just did."
While casting the Troll Communication Charm, he also observed that the lustre on the Occluncy text brightened slightly. He was actually closer to the Silver tier by a tiny margin. Though the progress wasn't as fast as the combat training with Snape, it was much faster than his solo practice.
His expression showed pure joy. Snape couldn't spend so much ntal energy every day conducting Legilincy combat with him... he'd only agreed to once a week. He had originally thought advancing his Occluncy to the Silver tier would take considerable ti.
But now, the Troll Communication technique offered a way to accelerate progress significantly. The tiline for Occluncy advancing to Silver tier could probably be moved up substantially. He had experienced these benefits extensively and needed no further explanation.
After exhaling softly, his face showed deep satisfaction. Quirrell's paper had brought him substantial gains. Now he could return to Sprout Island and ask the trolls what was really happening in the Forbidden Forest.
Then he left the library and quickly returned to Sprout Island via Portkey. He approached one of the trolls lounging peacefully. The troll was crouching near the field planted with Chizpurfle grass, using its large hands to grasp at the air, trying to catch more of the Chizpurfle grass's distinctive scent.
Clearly, life on the island was much more relaxed than in the Forbidden Forest. The trolls even went to play in the sea regularly. The ocean had washed away their perpetual stench.
Seeing him approach, the troll showed a genuinely happy expression and grabbed a handful of air, trying to let him sll the pleasant aroma too. He also smiled, gesturing gently.
"I'm going to cast a spell on you. It won't harm you... it will just make our communication much smoother. Relax your mind. Do you understand?"
The troll looked at him with blank confusion. Such complex language was still too difficult for it to understand completely. But its eyes were full of worship and absolute trust. It beat its chest proudly.
"Gronnak! Gronnak! King!"
He sighed softly. Then he waved his wand with practised precision. "Corde Animarum!"
ntal power flowed through his wand like substantial matter, entering the troll's mind smoothly. Throughout the process, he didn't even encounter the resistance from the troll that Quirrell had ntioned must be carefully handled in his paper. It went far more smoothly than imaginable.
A wonderful sensation arose in his heart. He could now communicate ntally with the troll directly. Not through words or gestures, but directly transmitting information through ntal contact. Each ntal fluctuation contained far more direct information than language could convey. This efficiency was far superior to before.
He enquired of this troll ntally: "Recently, troll settlents in the Forbidden Forest have been gathering toward the sa place. Do you know why this is happening? Is it a priest? Do you know if troll priests exist in the Forbidden Forest?"
The troll's mind imdiately produced strong fluctuations. Then a vivid scene from mory unfolded before him like a movie. Seeing the contents of the scene, his pupils contracted sharply with shock.
In the centre of the scene was an obviously aged troll, holding a primitive staff made from beech wood, bones, and animal hair. A crowd of dark trolls was prostrating reverently before this old troll, and the troll he was communicating with was among them.
However, this was clearly from many years ago. This now-adult troll had been young then, naively joining the other trolls in prostration. Sothing like instinctive calling seed to co from deep within, making it obey all of the old troll's arrangents without question.
Seeing this remarkable scene, he took a deep breath. Undoubtedly, that old troll was the troll priest Quirrell had theorised about in his paper. The staff it held... could it actually be a crude, self-made wand?! The troll priest indeed possessed genuine magical abilities!
Then he saw in the troll's mory that the troll priest struck its staff hard against the ground and chanted ancient incantations with surprising eloquence. Instantly, flas as substantial as matter rolled and surged dramatically, transforming into various vivid images... troll mythological legends brought to life.
"We are descendants of the noble Titan Giants. Our lineage carries the bloodline of the Fla Titan, Fire God, and Smith God Hephaestus. Supre glory flows through our veins..."
The old troll priest rambled on about these grandiose matters with surprising articulation. The trolls below looked completely bewildered, making confused grunting sounds. The troll priest's voice stopped abruptly, clearly frustrated.
Its eyes were full of profound desolation as it sighed deeply, seemingly feeling infinite sadness and helplessness about the tribe's tragic decline.
Then it shook its massive head wearily. "Forget it. If you can't understand, so be it. The day when the prophesied Troll King, the Unburnt, the Inheritor of Titan Giants appears draws ever closer. Offer your blood... co, try, all of you."
He watched this scene with growing amazent. The flas used by this troll priest made him feel rolling heat waves even through the mory. It seed to be a special fla, no less powerful than the dreaded Fiendfyre.
And the troll priest actually claid their tribe's bloodline ca from Hephaestus... the Fire God and Forge God from ancient Greek legend? If true, it was truly tragic beyond words. As the god of forging and sculpture, Hephaestus possessed craftsmanship beyond all worldly artisans. His alchemical mastery was also unparalleled in the world.
Who would have thought his descendants had beco trolls wandering Hogwarts' Forbidden Forest? No wonder the troll priest's gaze was so desolate and sorrowful.
But what was this prophecy the troll priest ntioned... the so-called Troll King, Unburnt, Inheritor of Titan Giants? The original Harry Potter never ntioned any of this fascinating content.
While he pondered these revelations, a brilliant point of firelight interrupted his thoughts completely. In the troll priest's weathered hand, a ball of fire was dancing hypnotically. When seeing this object clearly, his expression suddenly beca extrely amazed and excited.
This point of firelight was clearly... a seed? A seed that was entirely crimson red, like concentrated flas! Just seeing it in the scene, he could feel its ancient, incredibly powerful aura radiating outward.
This seed still retained considerable vitality after all these years. Not only that, but its tier was probably far beyond all the ancient plants he had encountered except the World Tree root. Even the Whomping Willow, which could provide Epic-tier rewards, was vastly inferior compared to this magnificent seed.
His gaze instantly beca fervent with desire. "This is... a Mythical-tier seed?!"
