Chapter 377: Reunification Of Korea
There was another reason why Magnus didn’t head ho this Christmas. It was because he wanted to use it as his cover. It was to fool the world into thinking that he was not at ho, and those who knew about magic would think he was in Hogwarts.
While his real plan was to head to South Korea. He could not wait any more, it was a fact that the Soviet Union was getting weaker, but at the sa ti, China was getting stronger. North Korea was under the influence of China, and if China beca too strong, it would be impossible to bring down the communist dictatorial regi.
In the middle of the holidays, he packed his bag and left for Maynmar first. There, a dictatorship was going on under the military, the country shared its border with Thailand, it was unacceptable that any weak links be left in the entire region. Hence, he needed to dispose of them as well.
Dealing with such small underdeveloped countries and their dictators was very easy for Magnus. They had no real weapons or power to defy him, their reign can only work on the poor civilians.
He arrived there with his Dragon Service team. It was one of the field teams, each such team consists of 2 charms experts, 1 Legilincy expert, 1 transfiguration expert, 1 Potions expert, 1 healer, and 4 hit-wizards. Basically, one team was enough to handle any small nation.
But Magnus decided to help with that, as he would use his staff for practice. They quickly started rounding off all the military Generals, every single one of them got their minds read, out of 67 Generals, about 60 of them were killed for their actions. This made sure that the entire army under the dictator was a headless corpse. Then, they went after the Dictator, the top general. They were not killed, they were caught and would later be trialled democratically.
After that, he went straight to Seoul. Unification of Korea was a good idea, but not at the mont. Why? Well, South Korea itself had a military dictator right now. Its current president, Park Chung-hee, was a military General once, who ruled the country as a de facto military dictator.
After serving for two years as chairman of the military junta, the Supre Council for National Reconstruction, he was elected president in 1963. Seeking to bring South Korea into the developed world, Park began a series of economic policies that brought rapid economic growth and industrialization to the nation that eventually beca known as the Miracle on the Han River. South Korea possessed one of the fastest growing national economies during the 1960s and 1970s as a result.
It was a fact that the man was popular, he was not like other dictators, he was not self-centric and only interested in ruling, he wanted to bring prosperity to his country. However, things had started to change, he was no longer popular, protests were occurring and the president was using the military to silence them.
How was Magnus supposed to make the Northern folks join the south? What if so sort of discriminatory feelings took over them? To do exactly this, he needed to first brainwash the President into giving up his position in the next elections, openly declaring now that this is his last term, and it will stop all the protests.
The prospect of having a reunified Korea was palatable not just to Park Chung-hee but to his entire cabinet. Most of the people who heard about this idea agreed imdiately. Park Chung-hee, anwhile, was happy, because if the reunification happened during his term then he would be immortalised in Korean history.

The na of Dragon Service chief in the region was Lance, he briefed Magnus about everything in private, “Sir, North Korea is perhaps the toughest nut to crack. Unlike other nations, the North Korean dictator has a good grip over its wizarding population. Nearly all wizards are also governnt employees, even serving in their ard forces.
If we want to defeat them, then a magical conflict is inevitable. I recomnd that we bring more people to fight, sir.” Lance advised.
Certainly, if there was going to be a fight involving wizards, then the situation would be different. However, this was the event he was preparing for. If he can’t even bring down a rogue nation like North Korea, then what was the point of his dragon blood, great powers and rlin’s staff?
“We don’t need more people, we need more power. Can we seal off the magical space of the country? I don’t want any wizard to be leaving it when we start.” Magnus asked him.
Lance calculated sothing quickly, “We need 15 more wizards to do it, sir.”
“Good, ask for them then. I will handle the country’s wizards. You folks will handle the muggles. One more thing, kill the Kim Family, do not leave anybody alive.” He ordered.
“The kids as well?” Lance inquired.
Magnus scowled, killing kids was not to his taste, he hated it, but it was important to destroy each and every proof of the Kim Family’s existence. “Obliviate the lives of any kid below the age of 16 and drop them into so random orphanage around the world.”
“Got it, sir.” Lance saluted and left quickly.
Once alone, Magnus took out his satellite phone and called Adrian on a secured line, “Yes, I want you to bring the entire Golden Company to South Korea. The operation is to be completely masked.”
“All of them? There are sixty thousand n, Magnus. What war are you starting?” Adrian asked.
“I’m in South Korea, the two are going to unite. You know, China won’t sit quietly after that, they will try to invade North Korea to reclaim it in the na of their friendship with North Korea. I need n to stop all advances. Bring all the firepower we have.” He ordered.
Adrian seriously agreed to the instructions and things up. Magnus just sighed silently, hoping that he was doing the right thing. China will beco his enemy after what he was about to do, of course, if China agreed, he was ready to make friends again. But the chances of that happening were less.
“I should also talk to the US president, the UK doesn’t have that much political clout yet. I will need as many countries as possible to recognise the reunified Korea as only Korea as soon as the news of the Kim family dying cos.” He planned a few steps ahead and called the US president on a safe line.
His power was well known by a lot of world leaders by now, one of them was Gerald Ford, who was still taking political benefit from how Magnus destroyed the major Mafia from the nation.
After he heard about what Magnus was about to do, he was pretty excited, after all, the Korean war was not a successful war for the United States, because they were not able to stop the division. Only a siege fire was signed, aning that the two Koreas were still in a state of war.
“You give us the signal, I will send the entire Pacific fleet to secure the waters around Korea. The Chinese won’t provoke us in waters, the Soviets are the only problematic folks.” Gerald Ford told Magnus.
But, for this, a plan was already in motion, “Don’t worry, Mr President, I have already devised a plan, you can rest assured, the Soviets won’t be able to do anything in the sea. However, I don’t want the US to take all the achievents for it, it will be 20% you, 80% the UK. I am the one sending n there, after all. I will be the one fighting their wizards.”
Gerald Ford, for a man already nervous that he would never win a second term, was happy for even getting nad. “Acceptable. I wish you luck.”
After this, he prepared the UK for what was to co. It has to be the UK governnt to announce what has happened and how their effort has brought peace to the Korean peninsula, bringing people out of poverty and providing food to those starving. Large ships full of grains and life-saving dicines were already being prepared.
After this whole operation, the real battle would start, it was to make the North Korean population believe that the West is not the enemy, that the South is not the enemy. This can only be done by showing humanity.
