Third person POV
She raised her delicate hand and pointed upward, discreetly indicating the ceiling.
"These eting rooms have caras. Everything was recorded. In fact, I’m the one who could threaten you with a lawsuit."
Just hearing that made Leo take a step back. He swallowed hard, his whole body flooded with emotions too tangled to describe.
He knew it was true, but he still tried to maintain his composure. A cold sweat ran down his neck, betraying his insecurity.
Lee Hua then walked towards him, her heels echoing like hamr blows in the silence. With each step, Leo felt his confidence crumble a little more.
His eyes betrayed him, revealing his insecurity and true nature. He was just a weakling who didn’t know what to do when surrounded.
When she finally stopped in front of him, so close that he could feel the soft perfu mixed with the invisible threat in her gaze, the world seed to shrink.
She stared at him with such absolute coldness that Leo’s heart raced as if it were about to explode.
Her lips curled into a cold, cruel, but almost imperceptible smile.
"But, even if you were right, Leo," she whispered, her voice low but sharp as a blade, "I would still win the case. I would destroy you. Because, in the end..."
She leaned in even closer, approaching him almost as if daring him to react. Her arrogant eyes seed to pierce the man’s soul.
"...you are nothing but an irrelevant insect. All the power you think you have is just laughable in my eyes."
Leo’s legs gave way, and for an instant he thought he might faint. The pride that had inflad him minutes ago was now nothing but ashes.
Lee Hua straightened up, adjusting her coat with the sa calm as soone closing a book. She had already lost interest in that guy.
Leo, terrified, recoiled. He mumbled sothing unintelligible and, defeated, took a few steps back, moving away from the scene.
Frustrated, frightened, and completely humiliated, he left the eting room.
That said, Lee Hua was not finished with her work. She said she would destroy Leo for Liam, and therefore, she would do it absolutely.
Or rather, she would send soone to do it, after all, her ti needed to be dedicated to more important things.
She had no interest in continuing to fight against soone who had already given up. It wasn’t fun at all.
"By the way, what was this bet you ntioned?" She turned to Liam, who was considerably more interesting at the mont.
"Well..." the boy quickly explained the succession issue between Vanessa and Leo. He omitted much of the past between the two, not knowing if Vanessa wanted other people to know about it.
But he still said that Leo would clearly be the chosen one and that all of that was just a way for him to humiliate his younger sister. And, finally, he explained about the bet that whoever won the contract would be the successor.
"Oh! So you’re going to get the inheritance, congratulations," Lee Hua clapped her hands softly while looking at Vanessa.
The woman just sighed in response. "I doubt my brother will keep his word. Besides, ultimately, this is my father’s decision, not his."
"I see..." Lee Hua ran her hand through her hair, wrapping her index finger around her silky strands, while thinking a little.
A devilish smile spread across her lips, after all, she had several fun ideas on how to deal with the case.
"I hate lies, you know?" She comnted in a childish tone. "And I hate even more people who go back on their word," again, her tone was absolutely innocent.
"Don’t you think this is absurd!" Lee Hua continued speaking. "I believe a person should be punished for doing such a thing."
Lee Hua finally looked in the direction of her bodyguard and even a brief exchange of glances was enough for him to understand what her instructions were.
Being the competent employee he was, the man gave an imdiate response:
"Don’t worry, I’ll handle this perfectly. You can leave everything to ."
"Very good," she smiled in response, then turned her gaze to Vanessa. "Wait and relax, I believe your father will call soon to talk about the inheritance and family business."
Vanessa swallowed hard, Lee Hua could be quite scary sotis. And it was difficult to reconcile her cute monts with her sadistic monts. She always seed to be an instant away from trying to end her life.
"Now, I can rent him for myself," Lee Hua pointed to Liam, while looking at Vanessa.
"Rent?"
"Yes, he told he’s your employee, didn’t he?" She blinked innocently. "Therefore, I wanted to sign a contract to have him working with only temporarily."
With an excited smile, Lee Hua continued her explanation:
"Don’t worry, it will only be for the duration of the cruise. Besides, I’ll pay well and in return, one of my employees can do his functions."
"How well would you pay?" Vanessa asked.
"Hey! Wait, are you really thinking of selling ?!" Liam protested. "Besides, shouldn’t my opinion be taken into account?"
"Indeed, that could be a problem..." Lee Hua sighed, then approached Liam, leaning towards him. "Don’t you want to work with ?" She bit the boy’s ear. "I can pay very well, and not just with money."
"Co to think of it, you owe ," Vanessa comnted in a light tone, rembering how he beca her employee in the first place.
"How much is it?" Lee Hua quickly asked, and Vanessa showed her a slightly inflated price. "That’s cheap, I can pay it without any problem," the girl replied imdiately.
"Wait, didn’t you already leave that behind?" Liam complained.
In response, Vanessa leaned closer and whispered in his ear.
"Co on, don’t waste the chance to make a network with a rich and young beauty. Isn’t your specialty seducing this kind of girl?"
"What do you think I am?" Liam asked.
Vanessa blew softly against his ear.
"A big, sexy stud. Besides, she’s already interested in you. Just go claim her."
"But she’s crazy. You know what they say, never stick your dick in crazy."
"I’m sure you can fix her."
And with that, the contract was signed.
