Luck’s best weapon was, and always would be, shaless bullshit.
He straightened, forced himself to et her gaze head-on.
"The price is a night with you. That’s it. One night, no strings. You get your artifact, I get... well, I get to sleep with such a high class woman."
For a mont, the wind and the world seed to freeze. Even the cicadas held their breath by his outrageous request.
She stared at him with the look of an assassin considering which part of her victim to eviscerate first.
"I see. You are bolder than you appear," she murmured.
"Most n in your position would beg. You—" she let the word float, as if to taste it—"bargain for a night with ? And you believe you can withstand what that entails?"
Luck barely blinked. "I’m pretty confident in my stamina and performance."
She smiled, slow and incredulous, as if gazing at sothing both revolting and rare.
"I’ve slept with many n in my life...Every one of them fell for my charm and gave everything. Are you really sure you want to test that?"
Luck’s mouth went dry. "With your beauty, I’d say the risk is worth it."
There was a pause. She studied him, reading his face like a page from a forbidden grimoire.
"Flattery is a weapon too," she said, almost to herself. "And I have to admit, you have a good eye."
Luck grinned, though the sweat was pooling at the base of his neck. "I’m only speaking of the truth."
"For your sake, let us hope that is true. Fine, I accept your price. One night—provided you survive it."
She grabbed an old parchnt from her robe and started writing on it with her bare hands. Once she finished, it floated over to him.
It was a contract—neither of them could try to kill the other for a full day. If one broke it, that person would die.
On top of that, once he got what he wanted, she would have the right to ask him for a high-value item.
Luck checked with the system. It said the contract was safe to sign and would actually give him more protection.
But he wasn’t done yet. He also asked the system if the contract would kill him if he moved to another world. It said no, which made him feel more at ease.
After signing, she stepped through the barrier and closed the distance between them. She slled faintly of lavender.
Before he could say a word, she leaned in and kissed him.
’Wait!’ He tried to pull back but she was a delicious poison and already coiling inside his mouth.
Luck gagged, panic surging, but her lips clamped deeper and the taste was dizzying.
He staggered, nearly dropping the contract, and just as the world began to grey out she pulled away, savoring the aftertaste with a slow, luxurious lick of her own lips.
"Young man," she said, voice almost gentle, "I’ll make you fall in love with . Forget about the contract—you’ll be giving everything."
The words slithered into his ear, and for a second he wondered if she hadn’t just spelled them straight into his crown jewel.
"I thought we had to wait until night ti," he remarked, absentmindedly scratching his nose.
"Let’s have so fun until then," With a playful shove, she toppled him to the ground.
Her tongue flicked out of her mouth like a serpent’s, its movent slow and tantalizingly seductive.
Then it forked, impossibly, and one slick vein of it traced up behind his left ear, wet and cool, while the other slithered round his right.
Luck shuddered, the sensation was too much. He wanted to fight back, but his limbs were suddenly heavy and slow, every muscle bristling with unfamiliar hormones.
"Wait... wait... can we do this later?" he moaned, unable to stop the sound.
"You’re already like this, and I’ve only played with your ears... just imagine what’ll happen when I start playing with your ....."
Alicia gripped his lapels and slid herself down, her thighs bracketing his, pressing him to the mossy earth.
With a seductive smile, she rocked her hips, slow at first, then faster, grinding the heat of her body into the growing bulge beneath his pants.
There was nothing magical about it—just the obscene, insistence of her movent, the impossible way her body fit into his grooves like a puzzle.
"Say you love , young man, and I’ll promise to show you heaven every single day."
He bucked once, tried to retake control, but her hands were already pinning his wrists overhead, slender fingers shockingly strong.
"Is this too much for you?. I thought you were a man of stamina."
He tried to say sothing clever but it was like his brain had been turned into a bag of scrambled radio signals, every synapse tripped in a different zip code.
"You like this?" Her hips moved, grinding down with a slow rhythm, the fabric of his jeans grown damp and thin because of her teasing.
It was like she already mapped every nerve in his body in advance. He bit back a groan, but the pleasure spiked back.
Just as he was about to cum again, a shout from the motel slashed through the air.
"STOP!"
It was Neve’s voice, ragged with pain and betrayal.
"Look at you," she purred, undulating her hips with even more precision, "First I took your father, now I will take your lover. Poor daughter... always alone, always lonely"
"No..." Neve stumbled, as if a wire had snapped sowhere inside her, and collapsed to one knee. The air left her body in a soundless gasp.
Her fingers clawed at the grass, not for support, but as though she could tear the pain out by the roots. Tears streaked down her cheeks, each droplet catching the stray light as it fell.
"Neve! Don’t listen to her! You know . You know that’s not—"
"Don’t interrupt," she murmured, not even bothering to look at her stepdaughter. "She needs to hear this. It’s only polite, since you’ve been so generous with your complints earlier. "
She leaned low and whispered into his ear, but every syllable was ant for Neve.
"Let tell you a secret, my dear daughter," Alicia breathed, the words viscous and slow.
"n only want what is dangerous. They crave power—sothing they can’t control, sothing that might kill them if they get too close. Your lover is no different."
She licked the shell of his ear, as if to emphasized the lesson.
"He asked for this. In fact, he begged for it. Maybe he finally realized you couldn’t give him what he needed, so he ca to . But really, what can he expect from an inexperienced girl like you?"
Neve’s throat tightened. Her lips trembled, but no words ca. She couldn’t even bring herself to respond.
Luck strained. "Don’t listen to her! She’s twisting it—"
"Am I?" Alicia crooned, arching her back as her hair spilled forward in a purple curtain.
"Weren’t you the one who asked to sleep with ? You offered the trade—just one night. Or are you pretending you forgot? Because I would bet my life that I’m speaking the truth."
