He pointed toward a tall figure among the Nekoma players.

With gray hair and a foreign look, the boy stood out. During their match with Nekoma earlier, he was one of the main reasons Karasuno couldn't win.

Standing close to 2 ters tall, he was a force to be reckoned with.

But from his movents, it was clear that he lacked refined technique.

Still, if even Fukurodani would have trouble facing Nekoma with him on the court...

"Huh?"

Kuroo turned his head to check.

"Oh, you an Lev?"

"He's a first-year—Lev Haiba. Half-Russian, half-Japanese."

"He wasn't with us during Golden Week training?"

Daichi was a little surprised.

"A guy that tall… you didn't bring him?"

"It wasn't that we didn't bring him."

Kuroo scratched his head.

"Lev only started playing volleyball in high school."

"Back then, during the Golden Week camp, he was still basically a beginner."

"Only our starting lineup and official substitutes ca that ti."

"A beginner back then…"

But judging from today's match, no one would have guessed that.

While his fundantals were clearly still lacking, his natural talent and athleticism were staggering.

Everyone from Karasuno exchanged looks.

His future potential was enormous.

While they were still discussing, the match between Fukurodani and Shinzen ended.

As expected, Fukurodani won.

"Eh? So that's Karasuno? The ones who beat Shiratorizawa and made it to Nationals?"

Bokuto stood in the rest area, yawning.

"They look pretty ordinary."

Shinzen's setter nodded in agreent.

"They don't seem as strong as the rumors made them out to be."

"Weren't they supposed to have an attacker who rivals Ushiwaka? Was that all just hype?"

"How could a team like that beat Shiratorizawa?!"

"Hold on now," said Fukurodani's setter, Akaashi Keiji, wiping his sweat with a towel.

"I heard from Kuroo earlier that three of Karasuno's key players didn't co today."

"That includes their ace."

"So don't underestimate them."

"Hmm… I hope you're right," said another.

"If they're really that weak, it'd be a letdown if they got knocked out early."

---

As the sun began to set, the day's intense training matches were coming to a close.

Daichi and the others had just finished a round of fish dives as punishnt.

Though Karasuno had improved significantly since the Miyagi Prefecture qualifiers...

Facing these powerhouse schools from other regions made it painfully clear:

Without Akira, they still lacked attacking power.

Among the participating teams—

Fukurodani is one of Tokyo's three representatives.

Ubugawa is one of Kanagawa's top two teams.

And Karasuno is Miyagi's sole representative.

Out of the group, Karasuno had the poorest results.

Just as the final match of the day was about to begin...

Hinata and Kageyama finally arrived from Miyagi!

*Clunk!*

The gym doors swung open from the outside.

"Nice! The training's not over yet!!"

"Perfect timing!!"

Saeko—Tanaka's older sister—stood in the doorway with a wide grin.

"Big sis!!"

Nishinoya bead at her in admiration.

Behind her, Hinata and Kageyama stumbled in, panting heavily from the run.

Just before the last match began, they had made it to Nekoma High!

---

"Nice serve!"

Karasuno's final training match was against their long-ti rival—Nekoma!

*Smack!*

Thanks to Lev's presence, Inuoka had been substituted out.

"Whoa!"

"That last spike was insane!"

Bokuto said in amazent as he and other players watched from the sidelines.

"That quick attack! It was so fast, there was no ti to react!"

"Yeah," added a player from Ubugawa.

"But that tall first-year from Nekoma is really tough!"

"Give him a few more rounds, and I bet he'll catch that quick!"

"You're right," agreed Akaashi.

"He gave us a lot of trouble during our match."

"He's tall, athletic, and has incredible instincts! What a ridiculous talent."

"But…"

"Karasuno's in danger."

Shinzen's captain, Kogure, crossed his arms and sighed.

"If Nekoma shuts down that strange quick attack of theirs, how else are they going to score?"

"Didn't Nekoma say they played Karasuno all day during Golden Week and couldn't win a single match?"

"This team doesn't seem as strong as the rumors claid."
