But Akira, being soone who's highly skilled at using that tool-out move, obviously wasn't going to let Bokuto pull it off so easily!

Instead, he countered with a clever hand-retraction maneuver—causing Bokuto to hit the ball out of bounds all on his own!

Even though everyone understood what had happened, they still couldn't help but laugh a little.

Feeling all the eyes on him, Bokuto once again clutched his head in despair.

When everyone on Fukurodani saw his reaction, their hearts sank a little.

"Akashi!"

"

"I'm a useless ace!"

Seeing him squat on the ground looking so defeated, the rest of the Fukurodani team sighed again.

"He's finally hit the slump…"

"We all knew it was coming, but every ti I see it, I still want to go over there and kick him."

"But this ti… it's too early!"

"We haven't even hit 10 points yet!"

...

"All right, Bokuto."

"I won't set to you for the ti being."

Akashi sighed.

Even though he was the most reliable player on Fukurodani, he was still their captain—and dealing with Bokuto was like managing a permanent man-child.

He was just as dramatic in his sulking as he was in everything else.

"Huh?"

Bokuto, still squatting, looked up in confusion.

Before he could respond, Akashi continued.

"So…"

"While I'm not setting to you, just calm yourself down, Bokuto."

From experience, Akashi knew this was the fastest and most effective way to bring Bokuto out of his slump mode.

If he had comforted Bokuto by saying "you'll definitely score next ti," and kept feeding him sets, there was about a 90% chance he'd ss up again on the next spike.

And those errors wouldn't be pretty—off the net, long out-of-bounds, maybe even a total whiff.

Worse, every mistake would only deepen Bokuto's slump.

And that was far harder to fix.

The referee's whistle blew, and the ga resud!

Without Bokuto in the offense, Fukurodani switched up their attack strategy—becoming more diverse and unpredictable.

Back-row spikes, quick middle attacks, multiple players joining the offense…

Even though Karasuno had anticipated sothing like this, they were still surprised by what they saw.

Originally, they thought Fukurodani without Bokuto would be significantly weaker.

But what they hadn't expected was—

The rest of the team wasn't dragged down by Bokuto's absence. In fact, their montum surged!

They weren't relying on their ace anymore—they stood up themselves!

The whole team was fired up.

But even with that fighting spirit, Fukurodani gradually began to fall behind.

Compared to Bokuto's explosive attacks, the rest of the team's offense was easier to read—and Akira's blocking made scoring incredibly difficult.

anwhile, Akira's own spikes were proving nearly impossible for Fukurodani to handle.

They were a real nightmare.

Whether they tried to block or dig from the back row, the mont the ball made contact with Akira's hit, it would deflect off at an angle or bounce violently.

After a while, the Fukurodani players didn't even want to touch the ball anymore—

It was too frustrating…

"This situation's exactly like that kid said!"

On the sidelines, Nekomata-sensei chuckled.

Watching the overwheld Fukurodani team, everyone on Nekoma turned to glance at Kenma again.

Akira's attack was giving Fukurodani a headache, and the match was nearing its end—and they still hadn't adjusted to his playing style.

"Heh… when Bokuto gets back in the ga, I have to tease him about this," Kuroo said with a sly grin.

"Barely got any sets this whole ga!"

"But… knowing Akashi's personality, he's probably about to toss to him again," Yaku said hesitantly beside him.

He pointed at Bokuto, who was now scanning the court, clearly itching to get back in the ga.

"Looks like Bokuto's almost out of slump mode."

"If they let him carry that mood into the next match, he'll be even harder to deal with."

"Oh?"

Kuroo blinked in surprise.

Sure enough, Akashi's eyes had started to drift toward Bokuto.

Looked like he was planning to feed him another toss soon.

In truth, Bokuto—even in a normal state—was incredibly strong.

It's just… he tended to focus on weird things and fall into random bouts of despair…

Boom!

Asahi's spike was successfully received by Fukurodani!

Karasuno's front row watched Akashi closely, eyes locked on his movent.

What kind of set was he going to go for now?
