Instead of feeling intimidated in a small space with a guy built like a brick house and glaring down at her, Keira tried to arch her eyebrow to look nonchalant, when said eyebrow didn’t arch up, she continued with her unimpressed expression and tied the last of her laces up. "You do know these are the girls changing rooms."

Kodi didn’t respond. The silence grew thick with tension, and she finally leaned back against the locker and stared at him. "What do you want?" Keira asked sternly, hoping her voice would snap him out of whatever fury he seed to be in.

When he didn’t reply, Keira scoffed. "Unlike so, I don’t have ti to play gas." She grabbed her bag and started to round Kodi’s shoulder.

"I’m not done," Kodi growled, yanking her shoulder strap back.

Keira fell back into the lockers, her bag dropping to the floor, and glared up at him.

Who the F does he think he is?

"I AM."

Kodi slamd his fist into the lockers beside her head. "No, you’re not." His eyes dropped to her lips and for a mont Keira thought incredulously that he might try and kiss her.

Whether that was the case or not, she wasn’t putting up with his bad temper.

"Ya know… I’m getting tired of putting up with your shitty attitude." Keira placed her hands on his shoulders and kneed him in the gut. He buckled down onto one knee, and Keira kneed him in the face.

Or tried to!

Before said knee hit him in the face, Kodi blocked it, his reflexes much sharper than hers. Grabbing her leg, he hoisted it over his shoulder, bringing himself dangerously close to her groin the entire ti, their eyes locked in a heated debate. Kodi winked as the end of her skirt touched his chin, his proximity and heat sending a flush of frustration and desire through her.

She tried to twist her captured leg free, using the locker for leverage, but Kodi anticipated her move. With amusent and mischief glittering in those mismatched eyes, he shifted his grip, rose to his feet and pulled her leg higher, forcing her into an uncomfortable splits position and to hop slightly on her other foot.

Keira gasped at the position and tried to shove him away quickly, but Kodi was faster.

He caught her wrists and pinned them above her head against the locker. His body pressed against hers, and with one leg in the air, it was too fricken close. She felt… everything, and she was pretty certain he could feel how he affected her, too.

He is infuriating! And in her own ssed up mind, this was ridiculously hot at the sa ti.

The problem was, this guy wasn’t normal. He had so grudge against her. This was him probably toying with her. It was clear from the intense look in his eyes, burning with hatred and sothing else she couldn’t quite decipher.

The air was charged with frustration, annoyance and challenge, and maybe, just maybe, sothing else that Keira didn’t want to think about right now—that would be too confusing to add to this mix. Her heart was already racing from the undeniable attraction.

"What now, huh?" Keira challenged, holding his gaze and ignoring how good he slled.

Kodi’s gaze lowered to her lips then moved lower. Keira glanced down, wondering if he could see her bra but it was covered. Yet, her ribbon wasn’t tied up, and the top two buttons undone, leaving part of her collarbone exposed. With his free hand, Kodi rubbed his thumb over a spot on her neck, glaring at the area.

With a satisfied hum, his gaze flicked back up to et Keira’s. "What did mummy and daddy have to say about this, hmmm?"

Keira’s mouth dropped open, realising what Kodi had just done. She’d been covering the hickey with concealer and foundation. Although it was partially covered by her uniform, it would still show without make-up, revealing what the mark was, or it might raise questions about soone possibly being her mate.

"How’d you… Ugh. Don’t you have better things to do with your ti?" She hissed, her silver gaze glinting sharply like that of two blades in the burning light. "Keep acting like this, and I’ll begin to think you’re actually obsessed with ."

"Of course you would. You’re the centre of everyone’s attention, a princess. Why wouldn’t a low life like

not beco obsessed with you?" His voice dripped with sarcasm.

Keira narrowed her eyes.

"You know." Keira leaned forward so their noses almost touched, her gaze now sultry. Kodi’s eyes widened slightly from the change in attitude, looking for once off guard. It almost made Keira smirk in delight, but she held her own, dropping her voice to a smooth whisper. "I’d believe you, but your body tells

otherwise."

With that, she nudged her hips forward slightly, allowing his hardness to press against her for that fleeting mont before she relaxed.

Kodi scoffed, a mocking smile on his lips. "You’re hot… and your soaked pussy is against . It’s nothing more than a physical response," he said sharply, his eyes frosty to make his point clear. Her cheeks flushed again.

Keira didn’t try to take it to heart, but it still stung to hear him say it was only a physical response, like having the urge to go to the toilet. Like it was nothing.

Why did this matter, though?! It shouldn’t! This lunatic had her trapped against a locker! And for what?

"So… you trapped

in here to what… Prove to everyone that I have a hickey? Is this another way to defa ?" It actually hurt the more she spoke.

A woman’s reputation is everything, and once tarnished, it is hard to restore. Kodi had despised her from the beginning. He was also smart, using others to do his bidding.

He knew how important a woman’s reputation was. Even if she was a Cross and for a while that na could outshine any wrongdoing or rebellious behaviour she might have.

"No," Kodi breathed, croaking slightly like he was struggling to speak. Keira t his gaze again and inhaled sharply when she saw the amber glow in his eyes. She wasn’t just looking at Kodi anymore—she was staring into the soul of his wolf. What was happening? Why was his wolf erging now? "I wanted everyone to see…"

His thumb stroked the side of her neck softly, almost tickling her and sending shivers down her spine.

Keira’s mouth went dry from the intensity of his gaze, the firm grip of his hand pinning her wrists above her, and his heated body pressed against her core. His lips hovered near her throat, a low rumble vibrating in his chest, resonating through her, pulling a gasp from her lips as the intoxicating scent of smoky cedarwood enveloped her senses.

This was so confusing.

She could barely make out his wolf’s words, lost within the deep, primal growl. "That you’re taken. That you’re-"

A thunderous blast shook the ground, the impact reverberating through their bodies. Keira and Kodi’s eyes widened, the tension breaking. Before they could react, another explosion erupted, this ti closer to where they were.
