The pack was bustling like it had been for so ti now. Davian had been staying with them for a while now, but he felt out of place. Being on his lands, where sobody else ruled and lived in the mansion that he once helped build with his bare hands, was a lot to get his mind over.

He didn’t care for ruling over Silver Crescent, but these halls, these lands, were plagued by the ghosts of his mories. He was the remaining living Cross from that century, and he hadn’t been back to the mansion until Cassius forced him to help him from that tomb. Now Davian was a never ageing statue of flawlessness.

That was sothing he knew humans would crave after, to always remain to look young and healthy. That was why the existence of vampires was quite a dangerous thing. Many would seek them out to be changed into beings that could no longer venture into the light. That wasn’t his problem, though.

Davian honestly couldn’t understand humans’ obsession with ageing and never dying. It took away the beauty of life. To feel such passion, anger, and sadness, the thrills and lows of life in such a short ti but to also do everything they could in the ti that they had- that was beautiful.

Growing old with the one they loved, seeing their children grow up and creating families of their own, and then pouring their wisdom into their grandchildren was absolutely precious.

It was a gift.

Cassius and his mother took the gift of ageing away from him.

Although he’d road the earth in endless loathing of himself and the cris he’d committed, it was only now he was back, t others, and saw the world of creatures now changing so abruptly around him that he didn’t feel the need to stay around. He’d been under Cassius’ thumb for so long, and although he liked watching his old pack’s progress, he didn’t want to loiter around.

He wanted to see the world. Again.

This ti though, Davian felt more comfortable in his skin and knew he would not go around killing a bunch of innocents.

"You know, the first ti I t you.. I didn’t think you were such a loner."

Davian stopped walking. He’d left his room in the pack house, which again felt strange being in the guest room, and he went for a walk in the light, drizzling rain. It seed this she-wolf was doing the sa. He glanced around, searching for Es.

It had beco a small ga between them. The rogue was mischievous and used to sneak up on people. Now, Es couldn’t do that with many people in the pack, but Davian had beco a ’regular’ from his frequent walks as he lost himself to the mories of a past long gone.

Davian heard the slightest of sounds, a step nobody besides those like himself and Gabriel and Cassius could hear. At the last minute, he flipped his head up and reached for Es, catching her mid-air before throwing her to the side. It wasn’t gentle, but the girl didn’t care. She was a born fighter.

Es rolled across the forest floor, the leaves crinkling under her tiny body before she swiftly leapt to her feet and sheathed the dagger she always kept on her. It was like a precious, favourite toy to a child, but in this case, Es’s extended limb. The she-wolf had claws, but the dagger kept them from getting bloody.

Not that Es would attack anyone. This was only to keep her skills up and the ’victims’ on their toes.

"Did you expect to learn a lot when we first t? When you first t anyone?" Davian smirked, watching Es brush her clothes down.

They t in a ’Hub’, a place primarily rogues attended, though anyone was allowed to enter, including vampires and shapeshifters, only if they didn’t cause any trouble. They were known for the not-so-secret fighting rings that so attended to watch and bet. He’d fought in there a few tis to get rid of excess energy and anger, and so had this little fireball.

Es or Nyx is known to quite a few rogues that recognise her for her talents in incapacitating n three tis her size.

Es shrugged, though he noted the sharp look in her eyes. "My job.." She cleared her throat and started again. "I’ve always been good at reading people. It seems I was wrong about you, though."

Davian chuckled lightly and started strolling with his hands behind his back as though he was walking beside a fair maiden once upon a ti. But this was modern day, and Es was far from fair. The little demoness.

"For soone as old as I.. it is natural to spend ti thinking about certain things. It is hard to do that in a place like that." Davian wanted to say where he grew up, but only a few knew who he really was, and he preferred it that way.

With his black hair, it kept the attention away from him. Though not all attention. He was still good-looking and had power emanating from him as strong as any Alpha, drawing unmated she-wolves closer to him.

Davian may technically be a ’rogue’, but he was still powerful. Even humans can feel it emitting from him when he passed them in the past.

"Please, don’t talk about age," Es muttered, but he knew she ant for the comnt to remain quieter than a whisper. Instead, she stopped and looked at him. "If this place gives you so much misery, why are you here?

"Life might not be short for you, hybrid, but it doesn’t have to be so shitty. Cass isn’t holding your leash anymore. You don’t have to stay here. It’s not like you don’t have any money."

Davian stared at the little she-wolf for a mont after her little rant. Es was right, and her comnts fell in line with his recurring thoughts. He had so ’friends’ here, Aldric, Harry, Aila and Es, but he wanted to wander now he was free.

"You’re right," he admitted quietly, continuing past so of the last stray trees of the forest that opened up to vast grassland.

"I know I am," Es smirked before sauntering off. She was going to shift and go for a run.

Gabriel had returned to ONYX to solve matters that his vampire clans had brought forth. It wasn’t for long, though, as they were attending Aila and Damon’s second wedding. Sothing Davian definitely wanted to be gone for.

This one was strictly for publicity, and he didn’t want to be seen, having reporters and the public questioning who he was.
