[ Damon ]

After discussing the situation and leaving it in Delta Finn’s hands to deal with the human authorities, Damon and Aila returned to the packhouse. Other warriors followed them as instructed by Finn whilst Damon sped back in his sports car. It wasn’t long before they were back, and the mansion was full of those who were not injured so badly.

Others had been taken to the clinic where those like Thomas would take care of them. The entire walk from the car, Damon did not let go of his mate. The tingles of the bond humd between them at their connecting hands. They were both wary and overly conscious that their mate was in danger again.

After checking on the others, speaking to and from each pack mber that was left with a few grazes and cuts that would heal quickly, the Alpha-Luna pair turned to the living room, turning on the news. They knew whatever live video these hunters created would be put all over the news by now.

Damon held Aila in his arms from behind her, his nose constantly going into her hair to inhale her scent so more. His mate wasn’t even injured, but he was feeling overly protective of her. So was Darius.

At the mont, it was a struggle to keep his wolf at bay. Damon wanted to give him the reins for a mont so he would calm down, but once Darius was out, it would be hard to pull him back and take control once more. He should have been paying attention to the headlines and the video feed, but he couldn’t help but tighten his hold on his mate, his fiancé, his angel, and pay her attention more.

From what little attention he did pay to the TV, it was just the reporter discussing the situation and showing footage of the aftermath. They had yet to leak the footage, though it was incredibly violent; it made Damon wonder if they would reveal parts of it or all of it.

How would the news use this?

What angle would they go by?

"Aila! My sugar plum! My sweet pea!"

Damon gritted his teeth at the sound of Ajax’s voice. He really did wonder if the guy put this persona on. Still, he reluctantly released Aila from his hold as Ajax pulled her away, his hands on her arms, bringing them out wide while he assessed her for any injuries.

Darius growled at his touch, making Aila and Ajax look in his direction with raised brows. "Now, now, Alpha. I’m just checking her over. But I can see why you might feel a little possessive.." Ajax looked Aila up and down, spun her around quickly and grinned. "She looks absolutely delightful. Aila should dress like this more often!"

Aila giggled and giggled harder when Damon snatched her by the waist possessively and pulled her into his side as he glared at the shapeshifter.

"You’re so easy!" Ajax winked before raking his hand through his hair, his playful expression turning serious as he looked Damon up and down.

The Alpha covered his chest a little and made a shocked expression. "My eyes are up here, shifter," he joked.

Aila’s eyes widened at it, and she flicked her gaze between the pair. It wasn’t long ago that Damon couldn’t stand the shapeshifter, yet here he was, jesting with him even after showing his annoyance at Ajax’s words to rile him up. Ajax grinned and patted the Alpha on the shoulder.

"Sorry, sir. I’m a taken man," Ajax winked again, then slumped on the armchair staring at the Alpha and Luna. "I’m glad to see you’re alright. Finn’s doing a fine job as Delta."

Even as he smiled and joked, Damon could see a slight wariness and concern around the edges of his eyes. "Chiara is strong. She’ll be fine," Damon said, surprising his mate and Ajax again.

Ajax nodded. "I know. I’ve seen her fight off a haul of rogues. My girl is tough." There was pride in his eyes which made Damon’s lips twitch slightly.

The Alpha didn’t know when it happened, but he was starting to believe that maybe this odd pair were good for each other. One that was tough, thick-skinned and a little sharp around the edges and the other was bubbly and charismatic but had more experience in things loved and lost than most, making him rather good with advice. Or so he had heard from Gamma Chiara.

All eyes then went to the TV screen as the footage that was recorded by these ’hunters’ played. It was sickening to see, but the comnts raised by users who logged in and watched surprised them. They were disgusted by what they were watching. So even seed to be fans of the werewolves.

Finn walked into the living just as the comnts about his perky ass were on the screen, making Aila, Damon and Ajax burst into laughter, causing the Delta’s face to go red. It really was a strange ordeal to be laughing after what had happened.

Reading the comnts:

’Damn, his ass is fiiine.’

’Stop drooling. This is horrible.’

’I can’t not unsee that ass, though..’

Even made the tips of his ears burn bright red.

"You know.." Ajax’s gaze lowered to Finn’s backside as he stood beside the armchair the shapeshifter lounged in. "I never noticed that before. Your fans are right."

"Stop perving! What would our dear Gamma think?" Finn smirked as he punched Ajax’s shoulder.

"She might agree with . What do you think, Aila?" Ajax looked to the Luna, who rolled her eyes and didn’t comnt and looked at the screen.

"I say no one compares to my Alpha’s ass," Aila smirked, making Darius proud and Damon’s chest vibrate in approval as he kissed the top of her head.

"Yeah, yeah, sure… You’re no fun. I wanted to see Damon’s face." Ajax waved his hand, seeming disappointed that his mate did not align her comntary with his to rile him up.

Aila knew better than to do that. That was a ticket to getting a smacked ass. His eyes lowered to the tutu and her legs.

"She’s still getting a smacked ass." Darius licked his lips. "And a good fucking."

"Down, boy," Damon joked back to his wolf. He didn’t mind his wolf’s wayward thoughts, though. The only thing he was annoyed about was that their date night, sothing that was ant to be ’normal’ for Aila, had blown up in their faces with an attack.
