"The first-year student Loki?" McGonagall asked for confirmation.
"Yes, that would be him."
"He's a decent child, has good talent in a few subjects and is diligent."
"...nothing special?" Dumbledore asked.
"No, although he can be a bit of a tease at tis and skips Professor Quirrell's class because he feels it is a waste of ti, he is quite normal."
"Is that all?" Dumbledore asked seeking more information, a little disappointed about sothing.
"I think Professor Snape will know more about him given he's a Slytherin and has had most of his detentions with him."
"Detentions?"
"Yes, he got detentions from the first day."
"Why?" Dumbledore asked puzzled.
"He's the child that insulted the Pure Blood faction on the first day Albus. The detentions were to keep him safe from harm from the rather proud faction." McGonagall said exasperated since he was out of touch with a student that nearly all teachers knew.
"How is he in class? Anything special? Is he connected to the other side?"
"*sigh* no Albus, as far as I've seen or worked with him, he doesn't seem to be a Beyonder."
"I see. I will ask Snape for more information. That will be all Minerva."
McGonagall shook her head and left the office room that had turned silent, Dumbledore seed to be thinking sothing but did not speak anything.
Eventually, after a while, he pulled out his unique wand and waved it, causing an ethereal wisp to erge from its tip and coalesce into a dium-sized phoenix.
Dumbledore pulled out a piece of paper that he seed to have conjured from thin air and handed it over to the phoenix.
The ethereal phoenix left the office and before a long while passed, Professor Snape entered the office.
He silently looked at the Headmaster waiting for him to ask him a question.
"Are you alright Severus?"
"..."
"I understand you don't like to speak Severus, but you could spare a few words at least."
"What is it?" Snape spat each word with annoyance.
"Do you know of a student nad Loki?"
Snape's eyes narrowed and he asked, "What do you want with him?"
"Oh? I'm surprised to see you care about your student for once!"
Snape only further narrowed his eyes in response.
"Alright, alright, can you let know if he has co in contact with the other side before?"
"No. He had t a wizard before school, but nothing else."
"Is he not a Beyonder?"
"...No. I haven't seen him use any Beyonder-specific spells of any of the standard pathways. The only other way would be to be the blessed of an Outer God, but I don't think he has anything special to attract an outer god. Even his physical abilities are sub-par at best."
"-You should however recognise him as the boy who got the wand made out of a dentor's bone."
"Ah…yes…I do rember him. So that was him was it?"
Dumbledore seed to fall into contemplation as he thought about sothing in silence but then he turned to Snape and spoke, "Keep an eye for for would you?"
Snape nodded and turned around without any greetings and left the office silently.
Stepping above the Grey fog in his room Loki walked over to the large table he had set up, sat down and pulled the topaz pendant into his hand along with the ruby ring.
Wearing the pendant on his wrist he waited until it had stopped moving before closing his eyes, taking a deep breath in and speaking out.
"Soone used supernatural ans to induce coincidences to make et and fight the troll."
"Soone used supernatural ans to induce coincidences to make et and fight the troll."
"Soone used supernatural ans to induce coincidences to make et and fight the troll."
"Soone used supernatural ans to induce coincidences to make et and fight the troll."
"Soone used supernatural ans to induce coincidences to make et and fight the troll."
"Soone used supernatural ans to induce coincidences to make et and fight the troll."
"Soone used supernatural ans to induce coincidences to make et and fight the troll."
Holding the pendant and waiting, Loki soon found it slowly beginning to spin clockwise.
"Not a very strong affirmation."
"This could an that there were coincidences but they were not arranged for ."
"Strange, then who were the coincidences arranged for?"
"Professor Quirrel and Snape?"
"But what would they gain from getting them to fight the Troll and save Hermione?"
"No, it is more likely that they were heading to the third-floor corridor to enhance the protection of whatever Fluffy is protecting."
Loki sat back in his chair and wondered, thinking about the question for a while, until he realised he couldn't find the answer with any further divinations because he didn't know much about the coincidences.
"Well, let's go et Mione, if anyone might know sothing it would be her." Loki wondered and with but a simple thought he left the Sefirah Castle and arrived back into the cubicle he was using to enter the Sefirot.
Exiting the washroom, Loki made his way to the library, where he guessed Hermione would most likely be.
"Mione!" Loki whispered as he sat himself beside her chair in the library.
"Loki!!!" Hermione almost shouted excitedly but sense prevailed and she rembered she was in the library and kept her voice low.
"What's up?"
"Don't what's up ! Where did you go after you sent away!? I was so worried! If it wasn't for Professor McGonagall stopping and telling about you being in the Hospital Wing I would've raised a fuss!"
"Aww…that's cute."
"Cute my foot! I wanted to beat you up when I realised you basically pushed away to face the troll on your own!" Hermione whispered angrily like a hissing cat.
"Why were you in that washroom in the first place!?" Loki asked since he thought he might learn sothing important.
"Well…a few people in Gryffindor felt that I wasn't being helpful in classes and I had no friends that's why….well don't worry about it, now that I know you're alright, I don't have to worry."
"They told you that you didn't have any friends?" Loki asked with a frown on his face. "That's not a nice thing to say."
"Well forget about it, they apologised and they were even ready to help out when I went looking for people to help you."
"Oh?" Loki's eyebrows raised as he felt like he'd found the answer to his previously asked question. "Did they not follow their prefects to the dormitory?"
"Well, Harry and Ron said that they'd been worried that I was in the washroom so they sneaked away to help out."
"Huh? How did they know to look for you?"
"They said they overheard Neville and Parvati talk about ."
"I see." Loki nodded, while outwardly he remained impassive to the situation and also a little angry about the two little buggers who had called his only friend, friendless, inwardly he was also holding the feeling of jubilant joy.
'I know who the incident was ant for!'
'It's almost bookish with how it was set up!'
'Must be a terrible author to have such a cliched story of friendship.'
'The key was ant to be there for Harry and Ron to lock the troll inside the washroom after Hermione escaped, saving her and becoming her best friends in the process.'
'But the writer didn't intercept my interception.'
anwhile, in the office, Dumbledore pulled out a faint whisp of shining threads and dropped them into the pensive that was floating beside him.
In the scene before him, Dumbledore saw himself standing in the middle of the corridor, where he saw a young Loki hiding behind the stone Gargoyle clearly ignoring the him in the mory like he wasn't there at all.
Quirrel wearing a turban passed right by him after which Snape followed neither noticing he was standing in the corridor either.
And soon the boy stepped from behind his gargoyle and rushed into the bathroom he had so delicately arranged for the prophesied one.
Dumbledore in the mory lifted his wand and as soon as he began to attempt to confound the boy to leave his stage alone he felt a terrible premonition of danger.
'Misfortune.'
'I felt a terrible sense of Misfortune the second I aid to manipulate the boy's story.' Dumbledore thought with a frown.
'Why?'
