Although Loki lost his boss a couple of tis while following him, he made sure to catch back up by following the most likely routes to the destination.
The routes all involved staying hidden in the darkness and shadows, evading people and not letting their attention fall on him.
It was a typical movent pattern that he had learnt during his ti as a pickpocket, sothing that had been ingrained into his very being.
Finally, Loki reached a dark and rustic street that was flanked by apartnts on both sides of the road.
'Wasn't it 12 Gimmauld Place?'
Loki counted the houses on the street and finally landed on the number twelve etched in gold on a particularly dark black door.
The door, lined by spikey tal fences on either side, stood as a reflection of all dark and unholy, reminding anyone who graced it of the night when all the demons spewed out.
It was unsettling.
Especially because of the stone gargoyle on the door out of whose mouth the knocker hung.
'It looks scary.' Loki thought as he looked at the door that his boss was standing in front of.
The cold man looked around, making sure no one was looking at him, and brought out his tools to pick the lock on the door.
Loki saw the man fiddle with the lock for a few seconds before the door opened as if it had been left unlocked.
The door swung open slightly only to reveal darkness even darker than black waiting inside the ho.
The man opened the door wide, but because Loki was far away, he couldn't see anything on the inside.
'What's going on?' Loki thought as he looked at the dark door that was shut close after the man walked into the ho.
Loki waited for fifteen minutes but nothing indicated any signs of movents on the inside.
None of the three windows that lined vertically on the wall facing the street ever lit up to show any indication of occupation, and neither was there any sound to indicate movent inside.
'Should I go in?'
'But what if he asks why I followed him here?'
'Hmm…why don't I wait for a little while longer. I haven't heard a gunshot, I'm sure he will try to defend himself if sothing happens.'
Loki stood around on the street waiting for any indication of what was happening inside as his patience was slowly wearing thin.
'Did soone kill him already?' Loki wondered.
'Then I guess that's it? I'm free. Just like that?'
Loki started to pace away from the house because its dead silence was creeping him out, but when he cast one last glance at the house he saw a bright green flash on the window on the first floor.
'What was that!?'
Loki stopped in his tracks, his hesitation stemming from the faint opportunity that he cooked up in his mind.
'Did he kill 'boss'? I should run awa-' Loki started to think but paused. 'Huh? What was I think-'
'Was that magic?'
Although Loki didn't know for sure, sothing in his gut made him feel like there was a huge opportunity in front of him. He could feel that there was sothing magical about what he had just seen.
'Can I learn magic from the person that lives there?'
'If he could fight off against a person with a gun he should be powerful right?'
'Perhaps he can teach ?'
Loki's heart began to beat rapidly, and his face expressed his excitent in the form of wide starry eyes as he clenched his hands until his knuckles turned white.
'But what if the man wants to kill m-?'
'What if I shout at him from outside?'
'I can try that and then if he doesn't like it, I can run away?'
'It's worth a try.'
Convincing himself Loki nodded and began to walk towards the house.
Arriving at the door, Loki looked at the window and shouted out loud.
"Is anyone in there!?"
"Mr. Wizard! I saw that bright green flash of light!"
"Are you also a wizard!?"
"I'm also a wizard!!!"
"Can you hear !? I want to go to the sa school you went to!!!"
With his naive shouts, Loki tried attracting the attention of the resident but after the first green flash, there was no other sound or light in response to his questions.
Seeing no responses to his questions, Loki thought of sothing else, "Mr. Wizard! Can I co in!? I know how to do magic too! I made a few of my own spells!!! Could we share!!?"
Before Loki could shout more things that would embarrass him and the people listening to him, the door opened.
"Ah…"
'So that's why she didn't respond.'
"I'm sorry Misses. I didn't know you were a woman."
Loki looked at the woman standing in front of him and easily guessed that her deanour was strict and uncaring.
Her eyes were cold and her face had the most neutral unhappy expression possible.
'She would probably do good in a ga of poker.'
"What's your na." The lady asked Loki and from her expression, it wasn't a question, it was a statent that demanded an answer.
"Loki. My na's Loki."
The woman's eyes gained an unconcealable gleam as she looked at the boy in a new light.
She stepped a little away from the door and indicated for Loki to enter.
And Loki did.
He sidestepped the gap between the door and the woman and entered the house.
As he did, he noticed the small stick holstered on her waist and let out a low whistle.
"Is that a wand!?" Loki asked as he stepped backwards. "I saw one shaped like an umbrella earlier."
But before the woman could answer, Loki tripped.
*THUD*
Instead of collapsing on the hard carpeted floor though, Loki landed on sothing soft and squishy.
It was also surprisingly warm to the touch.
"Huh? What's thi- AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"
Loki imdiately stood up and looked at the man who had collapsed on the floor. The man had a face he recognised, a face that was no longer hidden by the mask around his head.
He wasn't breathing and neither were any of his other body parts moving to indicate the presence of life.
Loki bumped into the woman as he walked backwards, but imdiately rushed away as he tried to maintain distance between himself and her.
"I know you killed him!! But- but, wait why didn't I think you would want to kill too!?" Loki asked in a hushed whisper, afraid of alerting the neighbours and being caught up in this ss.
'As if an arson charge wasn't enough, now I've even beco a murderer!'
'Everything seems to always go wrong when I et any magical people!'
