That Night.

Ravenclaw Common Room

"Snap." The sharp sound of Ethan's textbook closing echoed through the evening air like a gunshot in a cathedral.

Glancing at the ornate clock above the fireplace, he exhaled softly, his breath barely disturbing the dancing shadows cast by flickering flas. Beneath his calm exterior, excitent and anticipation thrumd through his veins like liquid fire.

Rising from his chair with fluid grace, he walked toward the portrait hole, each footstep deliberate and asured.

Ti to bring Hogwarts a little surprise.

The arrival of surprises was just so beautifully simple and unpretentious.

The evening common room stretched before him in peaceful tranquillity, its blue and bronze tapestries swaying gently in draughts from hidden passages. Students clustered in small groups throughout the circular space, so bent over ancient tos whose pages whispered secrets in the candlelight, others engaged in quiet discussions about various magical mysteries. Broken eggshells from intellectual puzzles littered the floor like scattered thoughts.

None of them had the slightest inkling of what was about to unfold.

Seeing Ethan's departure, they rely glanced up with mild curiosity before returning to their studies. After all, this was Ethan Vincent. School rules about travelling in groups seed almost quaint when applied to soone who carried himself like he owned the very stones of Hogwarts.

However, one figure imdiately rose from the shadows near the window, following in Ethan's wake like a hunting hound scenting prey.

Arthur.

At this mont, his face appeared even more haggard than at the start of term, as if so invisible parasite had been steadily draining his vitality. Dark circles ringed his sunken eyes like bruises, while those sa eyes now glead with an unsettling madness that made other students instinctively step aside.

The other Ravenclaws whispered among themselves that he'd lost his mind obsessing over the Chamber opener, targeting even innocent students in his paranoid investigations.

"I learnt more in Ethan's club training than in all my Defence Against the Dark Arts classes combined!" one student was saying. "Plus, I actually got prize money for my efforts!"

Another nodded enthusiastically. "Round Table Council? Never heard of them. Don't understand the appeal."

Arthur paid no attention to such idle gossip, his focus laser-sharp on his quarry. He firmly believed that once he exposed and captured the Chamber opener, the Round Table Council would return to its forr glory, and his own reputation would be restored beyond question.

Staring at Ethan's retreating figure, Arthur felt a powerful premonition building in his chest like gathering storm clouds. Tonight, he might finally uncover clues about the true mastermind behind these attacks.

Perhaps Ethan's reckless confidence ans he'll be the next victim, Arthur thought with malicious satisfaction, his lips curving in what might charitably be called a smile.

He failed to notice how his thoughts had grown increasingly extre and violent over the past weeks.

Ahead of him, hidden beneath Ethan's dark hair, a small eyeball rolled with wet precision, catching sight of the figure following under a hastily cast Disillusionnt Charm.

Ethan's lips curved in genuine amusent. Coming along for the show, little brother? How thoughtful of you.

Shh... be very careful now. The path to hell is slowly unfolding beneath our feet, and only one step remains.

Tonight would serve as the ultimate test of whether his protective painting could truly resist the basilisk's deadly curse.

Chamber of Secrets

"Eergani's Skirt," Ethan whispered like a prayer to forgotten gods.

A gossar-thin white veil materialised around his head, its fabric seeming to capture and hold moonlight within its ethereal weave. Pure white scales caught the Chamber's dim luminescence, emitting a faint glow that transford his features into sothing almost angelic. Though the veil covered his eyes completely, it didn't obstruct his vision in the slightest. If anything, it seed to sharpen his perception of the magical world around him.

Drawing a deep breath that tasted of ancient stone and mysteries older than mory, Ethan stood in the vast Chamber's heart. The space stretched around him like a cathedral built for giants, its towering pillars disappearing into shadows that seed to whisper secrets in long-dead languages.

He closed his eyes, raised the snake whistle to his lips, and blew a single, haunting note.

The sound echoed through the Chamber like a funeral dirge, bouncing off stone walls until it beca sothing more than re music. A summons that resonated in the very bones of the earth.

Rustle rustle. The sound of scales against stone began in the depths, gradually growing louder and closer with each passing heartbeat. The noise was hypnotic, like rainfall on ancient leaves or waves against a forgotten shore.

Until Ethan's outstretched hand touched that cold, slippery mass of serpentine muscle.

"Hiss, hiss..." The soft sound of a forked tongue tasting the air ca from sowhere high above, accompanied by the subtle displacent of air that spoke of sothing truly massive moving through the darkness.

Thump thump! Thump thump! His heart hamred against his ribs like a caged bird desperate for freedom.

Ethan's lips curved in anticipation as he looked up and slowly, deliberately, opened his eyes.

A pair of brilliant, dazzling golden pupils materialised in his vision like twin suns blazing in the void. Those contracted, needle-like pupils were sharp as sword points, designed by nature to pierce directly through a viewer's eyes and into their very soul.

"Hiss hiss hiss!" The basilisk frantically shook its massive head and squeezed its eyes shut, confused and alard. The ancient creature couldn't understand why its beloved little master would suddenly open his eyes in such a reckless manner.

It knew with absolute certainty that any creature eting its gaze would die instantly, their life force extinguished like a candle in a hurricane.

However, a soft, delighted laugh rang through the Chamber like silver bells.

"Heh, you don't need to close your eyes, little one," Ethan said with gentle authority. "I no longer fear your gaze!"

The basilisk obeyed with reptilian grace, opening its eyes in amazent. Those ancient golden orbs t a pair of calm, deep cobalt-blue eyes that gazed back without the slightest trace of fear. Bright light flickered in their depths like stars being born.

The sight made the basilisk recall nights from so very long ago. mories almost lost to the weight of centuries. Back then, it hadn't been trapped in this stone prison. It had been young and free, following its great first master, Salazar Slytherin, through mountain passes and across rolling countryside under skies full of stars.

Its little master's eyes were exactly like this. So beautiful, so fearless, so alive.

The basilisk released a sound of pure joy, carefully extending its forked tongue to touch Ethan's nose with the gentleness of a mother greeting her child.

"Hahaha." Ethan couldn't help but laugh, the sound echoing through the Chamber with infectious warmth.

He stared at those magnificent golden pupils with fascination and pride, like a traveller who had finally scaled an impossible mountain peak or a warrior who had conquered the last dragon. The sense of accomplishnt filled him from crown to toe.

He had succeeded!

This painting, infused with the protective power of the Patronus Charm, was indeed powerful enough to resist even the basilisk's most deadly curse!

Inspiration struck like lightning. Ethan waved his hand with theatrical grandeur, and the massive snakeskin canvas unfurled before him like a battle standard. His wand transford into a brush with liquid grace, the wood flowing and reshaping itself until he held an instrunt of pure artistic creation.

Looking up at the blank pupils in that ink-black serpent head, he smiled with the satisfaction of an artist about to complete his masterpiece.

With his free hand, he withdrew the extraordinary material known as Luminous Essence. The mont it appeared, the substance blazed like a captured star, imdiately illuminating every corner of the dim Chamber with radiance that seed to co from the heart of creation itself.

The brush tip touched the essence, fusing paint with magic in a union that transcended re art. The flawless white of Luminous Essence transford into golden yellow like molten treasure, warm and alive with power.

No hesitation was needed. Those golden pupils were already permanently etched in his mind with perfect clarity.

"Slap!" The brush tip pressed into the snake portrait's empty eye socket with decisive force.

His hand moved with supernatural speed and precision, painting and sketching in rapid strokes that seed to capture not just the image but the essence itself. Not a trace of uncertainty marred his technique.

In this mont, Ethan could hear nothing beyond the whisper of brush against canvas. In his eyes existed only that gradually clarifying, gradually awakening ink-black serpent that seed to et his gaze with growing intelligence.

Completed in one perfect breath!

Ethan swept the brush to a dramatic stop, his entire body trembling from the magical exertion. Stepping back, he panted softly while gazing up at those golden pupils that now floated in the ink-black mist like captured lightning.

The finishing touch is complete!

Instantly, an aura of pure evil surged from the painting with the force of a breaking dam. The very air stopped flowing, becoming thick and viscous as molasses, making each breath a conscious effort. The temperature seed to drop by degrees as shadows began dancing independently of their sources.

"Hiss..." Accompanied by a low, hoarse sound like ancient secrets being whispered, the massive snake head on the painting began to writhe with impossible life.

Ink-black scales slid across the shed snakeskin canvas as if the creature were being reborn from its own image. Those pupils... those brilliant, dazzling golden pupils blazed like lamps lit in primordial darkness, flas that drew moths to their destruction.

They burnt with such beautiful intensity that creatures lured by their terrible temptation could never know what lay ahead. Only a deeper abyss. The abyss itself, given form and hunger.

[Effect: When existing alone, creatures gazed upon by its eyes will fall into intense hallucinations, forced to make sanity checks. Failure results in madness; can leap from the canvas as an attack thod.]

[When five paintings combine, effects and grade will undergo earth-shaking changes.]

[Warning! Current magic insufficient to support five painting fusions! Please complete advancent conditions first!]

Nearby, the original basilisk had coiled itself into a defensive ball, staring in absolute terror at this massive creature that resembled itself yet felt utterly alien. The ancient serpent could never consider this painted thing its own kind.

What manner of monster has my little master created? The basilisk wondered with sothing approaching awe. He's even madder than the original master!

Looking at Ethan with newfound respect, the basilisk felt certain confirmation through their shared gaze. This was indeed Salazar Slytherin's legitimate heir.

"Huff... insufficient magic..." Ethan panted slightly, sweat beading on his forehead despite the Chamber's chill.

Even without the system's helpful prompt, Ethan could clearly sense the truth. His current magical reserves were completely inadequate to support his ultimate grand plan.

But no matter. One advancent condition, holding a grand art exhibition for soone not of this world, was already prepared and waiting.

Creak.

A soft sound ca from behind him, barely audible above the Chamber's eternal whispers.

Ethan's lips curved in anticipation. First, he waved his hand to command the painted serpent to close its golden pupils. Then he blew a gentle note on the snake whistle, issuing a command to the original basilisk.

"Retreat to your lair."

Rustle. The massive creature obediently withdrew to the Chamber's deepest shadows, but not before hissing softly with genuine concern: "Little master, be careful."

Only then did Ethan turn to face the expected figure. Round Table Council President Arthur!

At this mont, that marble-hard face was a masterpiece of shock and disbelief. He stared at Ethan as if witnessing sothing that defied every law of reality, his mouth moving soundlessly as he struggled to process what he'd witnessed.

"Why are you here?" Arthur finally managed to stamr. "This... this is the Chamber of Secrets?"

His brain seed to be struggling with the basic concept of cause and effect.

Ethan smiled at him with infinite patience, waiting for the poor boy to sort through his tangled thoughts.

After several long seconds, Arthur's eyes slowly widened as understanding dawned like a terrible sunrise. His face underwent a transformation that would have been codic under any other circumstances.

Even if Headmaster Dumbledore had perford an interpretive dance before him, Arthur couldn't have been more thoroughly shocked!

"You... you're the Chamber opener! The mastermind behind everything!" His voice cracked with the strain of revelation. "It's you. Ethan Vincent!"

His shocked shout echoed through the empty Chamber like a death knell.

"Snap!" Ethan snapped his fingers with theatrical flair, casually transfiguring a button into an elegant top hat. He swept it to his chest in a playful, perfect bow that would have impressed any theatre critic.

Looking up with eyes that sparkled with mischief, he smiled. "Correct, that would indeed be ."

Arthur felt reality crumbling around him like a house of cards in a hurricane. This had to be so elaborate illusion. Ethan was deceiving him sohow. There was simply no other explanation!

How could this be possible? How could Ethan Vincent, that seemingly innocent second-year student, be the Chamber opener? How could he be the mastermind behind one terrifying incident after another?

He's only a child!

Arthur felt dizzy and disoriented, as if the very foundations of his understanding had been ripped away.

Then a darker realisation crept through his confusion like poison through water. If Ethan continued growing in power and influence at this rate, he would definitely beco an imasurable threat to the established order.

But if Arthur could arrest him now and expose him before the entire wizarding world, he could not only destroy Ethan's future but also elevate his own status beyond imagination.

Arthur steadied himself, greed and hunger blazing in his eyes like twin flas. His grip tightened on his wand until his knuckles went white.

Ethan observed this excellent Ravenclaw student with sothing approaching pity. "Mr Arthur, if I told you that everything I'm doing is rely in pursuit of supre knowledge, and that no one will suffer any substantial harm..."

Hearing that last phrase, Arthur nearly lost his composure entirely. What about all those students still lying catatonic in the hospital wing? Did you strip them of their very humanity?

Ethan felt his statent was entirely accurate. After all, he'd only used glorious radiance to wash away the evil thoughts corrupting these people's hearts. If anything, it would help them beco better human beings in the long run.

This was clearly an act of justice, far more rciful than the original story's indiscriminate killing.

"I respect the Round Table Council's noble traditions," Ethan continued reasonably. "Nor do I force students to join my organisation against their will. Under these circumstances, do you really still insist on being my enemy?"

Arthur's laugh was harsh and bitter. "Trying to beg for rcy now? Far too late for that!"

You'll beco my greatest achievent, the stepping stone to my ultimate triumph!

Ethan didn't respond imdiately. His eyes studied the increasingly thick dark magic that shrouded Arthur like a parasitic aura, feeding on his life force with every passing mont.

When he spoke again, his tone carried a weight that seed to press against the very stones.

"Finally, I want to ask you one last question. Please think very carefully before answering."

Ethan's voice suddenly dropped to sothing approaching a whisper, yet every word carried the authority of an avalanche. The power within made Arthur, who had been eager to finish this confrontation quickly, pause in genuine surprise.

For a mont, he glimpsed shadows of greatness in Ethan. Not just Dumbledore's gentle wisdom, but sothing far more dangerous. The kind of presence he'd only read about in history books – Ancient Wizards whose very nas made lesser n tremble.

"Did you co here and stand before by your own free will?"

By my own will? Arthur was startled by the question's unexpected depth.

Yes, why exactly had he beco so obsessed with Ethan Vincent? This doubt flickered through his consciousness like lightning.

But Arthur quickly found his answer, buried beneath layers of rationalisation and wounded pride. He had to overshadow Ethan's growing fa and influence. No matter what thods were required, he absolutely couldn't allow Ethan or the Morning Star Club to develop unchecked!

"Of course I ca willingly," Arthur answered without hesitation, his voice ringing with false confidence. "Stop wasting ti with your philosophical nonsense!"

"Very good." Ethan nodded slowly, his expression shifting to sothing resembling cold pity. "Then I won't hold back."

Ethan raised his hand with ceremonial grace, gesturing toward the closed-eyed serpent head that dominated the Chamber like a sleeping god.

Serpent pupils, open.

The next second, two blindingly brilliant lights erupted from that ink-black "mountain range" like the very mont of creation, when light first pierced the primordial darkness.

Arthur's scream began imdiately, but the light swallowed even that.
