[Chapter Size: 2100 Words.]
Third Person POV
Hogwarts.
...
...
Minerva quickly entered the infirmary accompanied by Headmaster Dumbledore as soon as she heard about the incident, her expression deeply worried. Inside, four hospital beds were occupied by Gryffindor students, and the first rays of the sun were just beginning to shine through the window. "By rlin!" Minerva exclaid in alarm upon seeing the state of the four students. "Tell , Miss Penelope! What happened to them!" She practically shouted at the nurse standing beside her, who only sighed.
"I don't know, I found them like this when I went to fetch Mr. Lupin from the Whomping Willow... They were all inside it, even Lupin was inside the safe spot..." She comnted with a sigh while Minerva continued to look shocked at their current state in the beds, her gaze then turned to the Headmaster who looked with a mix of concern and analysis.
"Tell , Albus. It wasn't Lupin who did sothing like this, was it?" she asked worriedly.
"I believe not, Minerva. But I am sure that Nurse Penelope can better answer that," the Headmaster remarked.
"It wasn't Lupin, because he's the one in the worst condition of all, he's been beaten for much longer than the others..." She comnted.
"Beaten...? What is their condition, who could do this to a werewolf?!" She exclaid in disbelief.
Nurse Penelope looked gravely at Minerva and Dumbledore. "The damage is extensive and quite severe, especially in Mr. Lupin's case," she began.
"Lupin is in a particularly critical condition. He has suffered multiple fractures throughout his body, including an exposed fracture in his left arm and several broken ribs, which are concerning because of the internal organs that might have been affected. He also has fractures on his face, including his jaw and orbital socket, which will require imdiate magical reconstruction to prevent permanent complications. He also has extensive bruising and lacerations, which indicates that the attack was both brutal and prolonged," she said, leaving both the Gryffindor Head of House and the Headmaster frowning.
Turning to the Marauders, Penelope continued her report: "Sirius Black has a concussion, a dislocated shoulder, and multiple bruises; his eye is swollen and his nose broken. Jas Potter has a fractured wrist, several broken ribs, and both his nose and jaw are broken as well. Peter Pettigrew seems to have suffered significant impact, resulting in spinal trauma, a dislocated shoulder, broken nose, and so teeth lost." She completed her diagnosis.
"Who would do all this to school students, who could do this to a transford werewolf?!" Minerva demanded answers once more.
"I don't know... but certainly, all these damages were caused by physical force, which is what scares the most... Perhaps only a giant could have done sothing like this, but surely the werewolf would hurt him and find his blood, not to ntion that he wouldn't fit in the place where Lupin transforms every month," she comnted, before sighing with a more serious look. "I used Revelio, and there was one more person there, at least there were marks of a wizard's shoe there..." She spoke.
While Minerva grimaced, Dumbledore pondered this... turning his gaze back to the four boys in very grave condition. "Tell , Nurse Penelope, what will their condition be like?" He asked.
"Well, that's not a problem, they will just have to stay here for a week for bone reconstruction and other injuries..." She comnted and continued. "However, we still don't know how traumatized they will be when they wake up... This could even be considered as using an unforgivable on the children," she remarked.
"Albus, we have to find out who did this!" Minerva urged, and Albus agreed, although he already had his suspicion because there was one person in this school who was used to bringing students to the infirmary after beating them with brute force, but to beat a werewolf to this extent... is really surprising and he ended up underestimating that boy in the end. He ended up looking at the plaque in the middle of the infirmary, with a very distinct rule of not speaking the na of a certain student in the place.
"Can we wake him up for a mont, Nurse Penelope?" He asked gently, as she nodded in the end.
"Let's wake Mr. Potter then," she said, moving towards Potter with a potion and wand in hand. She administered the potion while he was still asleep and used her wand on his head. Potter began to blink his eyes but did not open them while he moaned.
"Mr. Potter... can you tell who did this to you?" she asked directly.
Potter's lips trembled before he began to speak, his voice very weak and shaky. "Sna-Snape," he murmured in a whisper.
This caused Penelope's eyes to widen, unlike the Headmaster, who narrowed his eyes while Minerva looked furiously at what she had just heard.
"How dare he?" she murmured, never having been as angry at Snape as she was now, after all, he had crossed all the lines here.
She simply turned around and began to walk out to find Severus Snape but heard the Headmaster's voice before she took many steps, "Wait, Minerva. Don't do anything before we can see the whole situation," he requested calmly. After all, it was a delicate situation and they needed to know exactly what had happened.
He turned to the nurse. "Let's leave her now, tending to the patients," he comnted and began to withdraw, along with the professor.
Penelope sighed, watching them leave as her gaze returned to the unconscious children in their beds, full of injuries. "Why always this na?" she murmured, dissatisfied hearing Snape's na once again.
anwhile, Minerva walked ahead of the Headmaster, heading towards the Slytherin wing. "Wait, Minerva," the Headmaster called out again, and she looked at him, confused. "Snape is not in the castle," he said, as he continued out, and she, seeing this, quickly followed him.
It was Sunday, and many students were enjoying their day off doing various things, from studying to preparing to go to Hogsade or just wandering around the castle grounds. They passed many students chatting and playing in front of the castle, who greeted them respectfully, and the two continued to a distinct location outside the school, heading towards the Whomping Willow.
"Fawkes told he ca here," the Headmaster said as they continued walking. They saw the Willow from a distance, but it seed agitated as they couldn't see what was beneath it, with a hill in front.
As they continued, they finally erged from behind the hill and had a view of what was happening there, which was unbelievable to their eyes, even for a nearly centenarian wizard like Headmaster Dumbledore.
There, in front of them, the Whomping Willow was skillfully moving as it tried to hit a kind of fly at its feet, but this sa fly seed quick enough to dodge, and it quickly advanced to the trunk of the tree, punching it, while the snaps of wood reached the ears of the two elders, who were internally questioning if what they were seeing was real, as there was a student fighting with his fists against the Whomping Willow itself, shirtless, striking and dodging the tree.
"Finally, soone worthy!" they heard a shout from Snape as the boy seed to change his expression from always serious to soone enjoying the mont.
The Headmaster, having never seen such an expression on the boy since he had returned different, Snape was feeling the thrill of the battle, fighting against that thing, punching its hard bark, not easy to knock down.
And the Whomping Willow danced against Snape as its tree struck him, Snape was hit at one point and flew backward while being dragged across the grass, but this didn't stop him from continuing as he advanced again punching it from the side, with the Willow trying to hit him while he dodged, giving another punch to its bark. The tree again turning to the side as it hit him, with him putting his arm up to protect himself, falling several ters and returning to the fight.
This lasted several minutes until Snape seed finally satisfied and stepped back while the Whomping Willow did not seem very pleased with this, seeming to want to fight more, but Severus had other tasks and could not afford to spend his ti fighting all day. He ca here to test what he felt yesterday, after doing his daily exercises.
He started to gather his things, feeling the distant stares during the fight but not caring much.
While Minerva understood why a werewolf had ended up in that state, the Headmaster was impressed; he knew Snape fought against the creatures of the lake, but seeing him battle the Whomping Willow with superhuman jumps and punches was quite alarming for him.
Snape gathered his belongings and decided to leave. As he walked with his clothes magically put on, he approached the two elders. "Hello," he responded calmly, while Minerva snapped out of her stunned gaze and looked at him furiously.
"Do you have any idea what you've done?" she exclaid angrily, while the Headmaster remained silent, but narrowed his eyes.
"Idea about what?" Severus looked at her, raising an eyebrow.
"Don't play dumb with . What you did to Lupin, Potter, Black, and Pettigrew?! You put them in the infirmary and they are severely injured," Minerva said with a tone of dissatisfaction.
"Yes, I encountered them last night and I rely defended myself. After all, they set a werewolf on ," Snape spoke calmly, his voice maintaining a challenge. Wanting to see if this woman would be irrational enough to protect her Gryffindor students to the extent of setting another student against their beast...
"Listen here, Mr. Snape, what you did is against every rule of the school. You could be expelled or even sent to Azkaban," she said, as the Headmaster tried to calm the situation, but Snape began to laugh.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA!" He laughed, lifting his head.
"What's so funny?" she said, gritting her teeth at him.
"Well, this is really funny," Snape said, still laughing, "because I was leaving the school today. I planned to go to the Daily Prophet, as so students created a werewolf trap within the school. This is news for the well-being of all Hogwarts students. Maybe Potter and the others might even end up in Azkaban with the letter they sent , luring here," Snape spoke word by word, leaving the Headmaster with a raised eyebrow.
"You can't be serious," Minerva seed to have her reality check at that mont with what she heard.
"You bet I am. The Marauders crossed the line by setting a Werewolf against a student. If I weren't as strong as I am now, it could have killed . This is a danger to the school and to the children," Snape spoke, seeming to be the only one with common sense there, leaving Minerva and her fury speechless.
"Wait, Mr. Snape, I believe we don't need to act like this," the Headmaster quickly spoke, as the situation seed to be getting out of control and the punishnt he could give to Snape was turning against him and Minerva if he could prove his point and make it public.
"We have a promise, Headmaster, I know, about never speaking about Remus's situation. However, the mont they set that two-legged dog against , since that thing could have killed if I were a student from a year ago, I intend to break that," he said with a very determined tone.
"Wait, Mr. Snape, I believe I could take a look at this letter," he spoke once more.
"Headmaster, do you think I will give you that letter? I am not as naive as the students you usually deceive," Snape taunted, while Minerva was shocked by him speaking to the Headmaster that way.
For Snape, the Headmaster was quite hypocritical and hid behind a loving grandfatherly deanor, but the man had quite questionable actions at the sa ti.
"Wait, Mr. Snape, I believe we can talk about this..." The Headmaster tried to change his approach, not minding the student speaking to him in that manner, to which he was already accustod, and he couldn't even try to control Snape with that unknown strength he had, and which even he seed unable to affect, as it still gave him chills just thinking about the abyss he saw.
"Well, Headmaster, if you really want to talk and save those students of yours, I would be open to it, but with so conditions," Snape said with a smile. After all, it was a good way for him to gain more privileges at this school, even if he had to deal with so fools occasionally, this place had proven quite useful in recent months.
