[Chapter Size: 2000 Words.]

Third Person POV

Sowhere unknown.

...

...

Finding what he was looking for wasn't difficult, especially when Lucius himself volunteered to get it for them.

Since he didn't want Severus simply entering the vaults inside the manor, he said he would be back shortly with the diary, knowing exactly where it was.

Narcissa appeared soon after in the sitting room where they remained, looking surprised to find Severus and Rosaria standing there.

Severus looked at her, noticing her caution, as she pondered whether he had co to harm Lucius after his last visit.

However, Severus gave her a small smile.

"Hello, Narcissa, how are you?" he said in a friendly tone.

"I'm fine..." She seed a little cautious.

Severus liked her; she was a woman who had helped him in the past at Hogwarts, and that was the main reason he had never truly hard them before, as he held her in so regard.

"Hey, how about joining us? Your husband went to fetch sothing I ca to look for in the manor. I'll be leaving right after that." Severus offered, even though they were in "her" house, while Rosaria looked at her curiously, rembering Narcissa from Black Manor.

With no choice, Narcissa sat down across from them as a house-elf appeared. Even though Malfoy's father hadn't managed to buy Dobby at that auction, it didn't stop him from acquiring another house-elf.

The elf placed its hands one over the other and imdiately attended to its mistress.

"How may I help, master?" he asked nervously.

"Would you like dinner?" Narcissa asked, while Severus shook his head, preferring to do that with Rosaria at the manor.

"Then bring us tea, please," Narcissa said, turning her gaze back to Severus with a certain caution. She also noticed the shadow standing behind Severus.

"Ah, let introduce you. This is Voldemort, my servant," Severus mocked.

He treated his shadows as servants, but did not miss the chance to mock Voldemort, since he was a man who wanted to turn everyone into servants; it was ironic and a great joke.

Narcissa shuddered at hearing this, staring incredulously at the shadow, wondering if that was truly the Dark Lord, while at the sa ti knowing he was in Azkaban.

anwhile, Severus did not see anger or sha in the shadow's gaze; he noticed it had a glimr of adoration. It wasn't hard to imagine that this shadow loved being his servant and would say so if it could speak.

As Narcissa looked at Severus with growing fear, she knew her entire family feared him, and she ntally noted she should never offend him—he was even more dangerous than he had ever shown.

'To think that skinny, frail boy beca a monster...' she thought.

Voldemort's shadow, in turn, had unquestionable loyalty to Severus. Either way, Severus shrugged and turned back to Narcissa.

"When is the wedding between you?" he asked calmly.

Narcissa stared at him for a mont, trying to forget the shadow of Voldemort standing there.

"We don't know yet. Lucius has been summoned to the Ministry's court, as there are so connections linking him to the Death Eaters. Even after trying to bribe them, he still might go straight to Azkaban..." She seed sad.

"Are you pregnant?" Severus suddenly asked, seeing the fear in the woman and, with his senses, perceiving the truth.

"Yes," she replied with dread.

"I see. Well, I'm glad you found soone you love," Severus said with a smile, happy that Narcissa was with soone, despite considering Lucius a fool in his opinion and soone he himself had beaten a few tis in the past.

Either way, he couldn't help but want the best for her.

"Thank you," she replied, a little surprised by his sincerity.

"And my sister? She wrote to the other day, talking about the way you left... and even sleeping together..." Narcissa comnted, as she glanced at the frown forming beside her from Rosaria.

"Well, it's true. I'm seeing two of my fiancées," he replied casually, not caring about the looks he was getting.

"Just make her happy..." was all Narcissa said in the end, not wanting to delve deeper into that conversation when the half-vampire beside her was starting to beco a little dangerous.

Severus shrugged. It seed that this rivalry between his won would last for a long ti; he only hoped that one day they would finally co to an agreent and acknowledge the position each one had in the family.

It was at that mont that Lucius arrived, as they finished their tea and changed the subject. Severus spoke calmly with Narcissa about school and his plans regarding education—he wanted to be on good terms with her, since she had helped him a few tis and her sister was his future wife.

Lucius placed the book on the table in front of Severus, who didn't even move from his spot. He simply lifted a finger and placed it on the book as Voldemort's shadow approached.

"Arise."

In the next mont, an explosion of smoke began to erge from the book, moving directly toward the shadow and absorbing yet another piece of Voldemort's soul.

Lucius and Narcissa shuddered at the sight until all the dark magic of the diary simply vanished.

Severus burned it right there, with fire coming from the finger pressed against the notebook, as the flas consud it until nothing remained but ashes.

"Looks like we're done here," Severus said with a satisfied smile, standing up.

He was about to leave when Lucius, who had not spoken again, looked at him for a mont. The gaze made the man shiver, wondering what Severus wanted from him.

"Let see the arm with Voldemort's mark," Severus requested.

The man took a few seconds to understand what he ant but eventually stood, rolled up his sleeve, and revealed the skull with the snake.

"Can you remove this?" Severus asked directly to Voldemort's shadow, who nodded. Taking a wand made of shadows, the dark figure approached Lucius and pointed before he could question anything.

Then, the mark began to burn in the next mont, while Lucius watched in surprise as it grew smaller and smaller until it completely disappeared from his arm. He was stunned—it had vanished even from his soul; it was completely gone.

"How...?" was the first thing that ca out of his mouth.

"It was Voldemort who put that on you. Who else would be more suited to remove it than Voldemort himself?" Severus shrugged.

"But why...?" Lucius murmured, still doubtful.

"Certainly, removing the mark today will help you get out of the authorities' sights. But I'm doing this more for Narcissa than for you, you fool. Still, you will not commit another cri in your life. Otherwise... well, I won't hesitate to make her a widow. Just as I killed your father and hundreds of other wizards from noble houses." Severus' eyes shone with a dangerous light.

Lucius shuddered at hearing this. Certainly, when they all embraced this "pro–pure-blood" ideology, no one imagined the outco. The old and noble wizarding houses believed they would never be defeated and remained untouchable in their quest for absolute power, especially over Muggle-borns entering the wizarding world.

They never thought the final result would be the destruction of most of them, and half of the houses that had joined the Dark Lord simply vanished from the map. Severus Snape had exterminated them all, and Lucius would also be dead if he had gone that day into the trap Voldemort had set for him.

"One more thing," Severus continued. "I want you to donate your resources and efforts to passing laws that no longer favor pure-bloods over Muggle-borns. I've already told you I don't want to hear that ideology in this country anymore. But now I want you to help, in exchange for the freedom I'm giving you."

That was not a proposal. It was not a question. It was a demand.

Severus was already about to leave at that mont.

"Wait!" Lucius shouted.

"It's not about what you just said that I want to discuss, it's sothing else," Lucius began before Severus could question what it was. His tone was cautious before he continued.

"I've heard that a new force is entering England to investigate you... A very powerful group, directly from the ICW, along with the president, Vicencia Santos, from Brazil. They've summoned the Sentinels of the Veil... I don't know if you've heard of them..." Lucius said, while Severus shook his head, showing he had never heard of them.

"It's a group within the ICW that deals with very peculiar problems. They are so powerful that only the best in the world gather in this squad... Even Dumbledore has been invited several tis to join the group," Lucius explained.

"If there's such a powerful group, why haven't they done anything until now against Voldemort and you all?" Severus asked, curious, while Rosaria seed a little cautious. He noticed she knew sothing.

"Because they couldn't intervene until you appeared. The Dark Lord was still within the threat limit and hadn't conquered England; it was still an internal problem... but when a greater threat arises anywhere in the world, the ICW summons them. The Dark Lord believed we could handle them..." Lucius replied.

"I see. Well, thank you for the information."

Before he could say anything else, Severus simply made Voldemort's shadow disappear, took Rosaria's arm, and vanished from there, leaving only Narcissa and Lucius alone, standing in the sitting room that night.

Severus and Rosaria found themselves back at Prince Manor. He called the house-elves, asking for dinner for the two of them.

His uncle had already dined, so they took the opportunity to sit outside the manor, where they once again found the garden destroyed by Atlas. Severus quickly repaired it before watching the house-elves set up a table and chairs with dinner there.

"So, what is this group? You knew about them?" he asked curiously, as he had never heard of them.

"Well... I just never imagined they would be sent here... I was even invited to join them," she admitted.

"Really?" Severus seed a little impressed. After all, Rosaria was quite powerful — second only to Dumbledore and Voldemort in power levels — and even they had invited Dumbledore to join.

"Yes, they deal with threats a little more peculiar than what Aurors and other magical law enforcent forces can face in other countries," she comnted.

"Is that why they haven't dealt with Voldemort until now? What exactly do they handle?" Severus asked.

"They deal with threats external to our world. Voldemort was an internal threat... or, in their eyes, not powerful enough to summon them when he had not yet conquered England..." Rosaria explained.

Severus grew thoughtful. "What else can you tell about this group?"

"It's made up of various magical creatures... I only t two when they ca to speak to : an ancient vampire, though not as old or powerful as my father, and a gno who was also a Seer. That's how they found and approached . My father told more about them, or at least about the mbers who are part of the squad..." she replied.

"They deal with things that threaten the entire world and were founded after the threat of Grindelwald. The ICW began gathering them a few years after the fall of the last Dark Lord, precisely to have a powerful group capable of handling a wizard equally powerful when he was out of control." she explained...

"Since Voldemort had not taken power over England, he was not a threat in this group's eyes," Severus concluded.

"Interesting," was all Severus said afterward, a slight smile forming as he wondered when he would see the Sentinels of the Veil in England.
