[Chapter Size: 2000 Words.]

Third Person POV

Hogwarts.

...

...

The elves were working tirelessly. As one hurried with a pie towards the fire, another was crushing so tomatoes with their feet on the table to make a sauce. Soone was frying so chicken, while another stirred the giant cauldron with a finger.

Snape walked in, observing the place, analyzing and studying the creatures as they worked, trying to understand how they functioned.

"How strange... according to my mories, these creatures have to work tirelessly to be able to live. Snape had never cared much for house-elves, however their value is incredible. I don't know how the magical world hasn't exploited them more..." Snape thought.

As he walked towards the center of the kitchen, the elves soon noticed Snape approaching, which took them a bit by surprise, but they all knew Snape as the wizard who sotis ate there and being quite sour when they tried to interact with him, they left him alone while just watching with fear and caution. Snape might have changed in appearance, but his magical signature remained the sa to the elves.

"It's him!"

"The Slytherin student."

"He's going to eat alone again..."

"What is he going to order?"

"I hope he accepts my grape pie that I made with my beautiful feet!"

"He has to try my orange juice!"

"Let's see what he's going to order first..."

The elves started gossiping among themselves, looking at Snape. Even though they were cautious, they still wanted to be useful; after all, it's in their nature.

Snape didn't speak to anyone until he found a table that was not being used, sitting down while turning his attention to the elves, but a bit surprised that everyone had stopped working at that mont.

"What's this...?" He wondered as he was taken aback by all the elves looking at him, waiting for an answer.

"Rmm!" He cleared his throat after being a bit surprised and looked more calmly at all the elves, waiting for a response from them.

"Would you like to eat sothing, what do you have?" He regretted having asked such an open question because right after that, all the elves teleported close to him, seeing that he was not as sour as the last tis, they were shouting various options.

"What are you doing?!" Snape said as he found himself surrounded by a crowd of house-elves, each more eager than the last to offer their dishes. The situation was chaotic, yet comical, as the elves competed among themselves to catch his attention.

"Try our grape pie, sir!" An elf, excited, balancing on their tiptoes.

"Our orange juice is the best in the house!" Another, holding a shining jug, eyes gleaming with pride.

"We also have a skewer of crispy crickets, a delicacy!" A younger elf, with a mischievous expression, offering a sowhat questionable dish.

"How about our specialty? Spaghetti with chocolate atballs!" An elf, with a sly smile, holding a plate.

"Sir, please try our honey bread filled with gorgonzola cheese!" An elf, making a face, clearly not understanding the combination they created.

"Our pumpkin soup cos with a special touch, gummy worms!" An elf, blinking excitedly, holding a steaming tureen.

"You can't miss our banana pizza with mint sauce!" An elf, presenting a quite peculiar creation.

"For you, sir, we have a lake mud pie, we guarantee it's just chocolate!" An elf, with a serious expression, trying to convey trust.

"Our garlic ice cream is refreshing and... unique." An elf, hesitant, offering a scoop of ice cream with a strong sll.

"Sir, we have a atloaf filled with strawberry jelly, a surprising contrast!" An elf, proud of their culinary invention, waiting for approval.

"Step back." Snape, unable to take it anymore, spoke in a stern tone as his eyes glowed a blue tone.

In the next mont, all the elves disappeared, while their dishes broke and were thrown into the air. Snape found himself then surrounded, alone at this mont. All the elves were so scared and filled every corner of the room, trembling with fear as they looked at Snape.

Snape sighed, seeing that he had gone too far and scared all the elves, while food was scattered with glass and broken dishes all over the place.

"He's so scary!"

"He's even worse than before!"

"I'm paralyzed with fear!"

"Should I punish myself for this?"

"Sorry about that..." He said calmly, and looked at them, "Could you bring sothing with a lot of protein?" He said, and the elves, still looking at him with fear, began to move for the first ti. With great caution, they brought the food to Snape.

After placing the food, the elf disappeared, leaving Snape eating while they cautiously returned to their work.

He ate the food in peace for 20 minutes, and the elves eventually returned to their routine, but not approaching the Slytherin wizard.

Snape sighed as he turned back to them, "I need so information..." He began.

A very cautious elf approached while trembling with fear. "How may I assist you, sir..."

"I'm curious about you..." He started in a calm tone. "Can you tell your abilities?" Snape asked.

The elf hesitated before beginning to speak, while many of the others watched. "Yes, sir, we... we have unique magical abilities," the elf began with a weak voice. "We can teleport within the boundaries of the property we serve, and we have a strong connection with the magic of the house."

"Interesting," Snape nodded before waiting for the elf to continue.

"Moreover," another elf continued, appearing out of nowhere beside the first, "we can perform magic without a wand, like cooking and cleaning with just a thought. And we can sense the emotions of the people in the house, to better serve our masters."

"Not only that, sir," a third elf joined, visibly gaining courage seeing that Snape didn't seem as scary as before. "We can also make objects move without touching them, prepare potions, and even heal minor injuries with our homade redies."

"But our magic is limited by the vows of servitude," a fourth elf explained, "we cannot use our magic against our masters or to harm others. And our magic is stronger when we are performing tasks that we have been ordered to."

"Ah, and there's one more thing, sir," the first elf added, "we can hear the call of our masters from anywhere on the property. It's like we have an internal communication system."

Snape, evaluating everything he heard, was quite impressed with the variety and utility of their abilities, nodded. "I like what I've heard... you really are impressive..." Snape admitted, already knowing the basics, but now he was more interested.

"Do you really think so, sir!?" Exclaid a female elf joyfully.

"Are we incredible, sir?!" Another elf exclaid with joy.

"Yes... now I would like to ask sothing, where can I get so of you?" He asked, interested in having his own.

"Do you really want to hire one of us?! But no one here is free... we have to see if we find soone... we are always sold by wizards..." The elf in front of him spoke with so sorrow.

"I see... I'll look into that later." Snape spoke.

He had his own plans, having a house-elf could greatly facilitate his life on this planet during the ti he would stay here, or at least that's what he planned. 'There must be a shop in Diagon Alley, I'll have a look as soon as I can...' He thought and turned his attention back to the elves.

"Now... you seem to have been working in this castle for a long ti, how about you tell a bit about this place and less visited places, after all, you can teleport all over, can't you?" Snape asked with interest.

"Yes, sir! We can teleport anywhere within Hogwarts," the elf replied cheerfully without any fear as before, and many joined the conversation. "This castle is very old and full of secrets. So places are so forgotten that not even the teachers rember them."

"For example," a younger elf intervened, "there's a room on the third floor that only appears at midnight and vanishes at dawn. It's said to be haunted by the ghost of a forr student."

"And there's this kitchen, of course," another elf said with a proud smile. "Few students know how to enter. But you already know how to get here, sir."

"We can't forget about the Black Lake," added an older elf. "There are underwater caves that have never been fully explored. It's said that unknown magical creatures live there."

Snape listened to this and already knew a bit about the Black Lake, having fought an octopus there the sa day, but he didn't know about these caves; maybe he would explore them later.

"Ah, and the Forbidden Forest," an elf said with an expression of mystery and fear. "It's a place full of dangers. There are secret paths among the trees that only we know." He said with a certain pride.

'That's a place I intend to go.' Snape thought and kept the elves' tip and the paths they know, after all, it might be useful.

"There's also the West Tower, which has a magical clock. It doesn't asure ti, but the tides of magic at Hogwarts. Few know of its existence," another elf comnted, eyes gleaming with the secret.

"And the restricted section," whispered an elf who seed fond of reading. "There are books so powerful that they can only be read with special permission. So are so ancient that the magic in them is almost forgotten."

'This will be dealt with this afternoon.' Snape concluded, since he had the permission to enter it and planned to do so after lunch, having no more classes in the afternoon.

"Hogwarts is full of secret passages too," another elf added excitedly. "So lead directly outside the castle, others to hidden rooms. But they are dangerous and should only be used in ergencies."

"That's interesting, but there's more, isn't there?" Snape looked attentively at the elves.

"There's a place..." Said an older elf with his weak voice and Snape looked at him, waiting for him to continue.

"50 years ago I saw a student enter a room that appeared on the seventh floor, I swear. I was curious and tried to follow him, but the room disappeared for !" The elf spoke as if he had been pondering this mystery for 50 years.

"A room that appears out of nowhere, doesn't seem all that different from what I've heard..." Snape didn't pay much attention to this, he turned his attention back to the elves. "I have one more question," Snape pondered. "Is there anything you desire? Sothing that Hogwarts may not be providing?"

The elves exchanged surprised looks among themselves; rarely did anyone care about their desires. "We... we have everything we need here, sir. Serving is our greatest joy," said the first elf, but there was a glint of appreciation in his eyes for the man's question that had made them tremble with fear until a short while ago.

"Very well," Snape nodded, preparing to leave the kitchen. "Keep up the good work. And thank you again for the conversation."

"Did he thank us?" Asked an elf who was still cleaning up all the broken cutlery and looked at Snape, stunned.

"Incredible... He's so kind!!" One jumped for joy at this.

"Sir!!!" Another elf began to cry.

"Always at your service, sir," they responded together, leaving a murmur of voices as Snape opened the kitchen door, pleased to have eaten so beef they had given him, and headed towards the library, wanting to finally see what he could learn from this school where he decided to stay.
