Adam lay on the blood-soaked ground, his body trembling like a leaf in a storm. His chest rose and fell in ragged, uneven breaths, every inch of him screaming in pain. His muscles twitched involuntarily, his nerves still raw from the agony of whatever the hell had just happened to him.
He felt achey all over.
Like he had been torn apart, thrown into a blender, and sohow stitched back together by a drunk surgeon. His vision was still hazy from his grueso evolution. The thick scent of his own blood filled the air, mixing with the smoke from the burning village.
『Master, are you alright』
The System’s voice rang in his head, calm as ever, completely ignoring the fact that he had just scread his lungs out like a dying animal.
Adam let out a weak, breathless laugh.
"Hah... ha... For a mont there, I thought I was actually gonna die."
He wasn’t even exaggerating.
What he felt during his adaption was not re pain...that was pure, unfiltered suffering.
And the System then began to explain why he felt that level of unbearable pain, as she said.
『Understandable... Your body underwent massive genetic restructuring all at once. I will now explain the details』
Adam groaned at her words.
He wasn’t in the mood for a lecture, but at this point, he at least needed to know why the hell his body had decided to self-destruct like that.
『Your Local Adaptation ability passively activated upon entering Ultima Village, like I said earlier, but you were in too much pain to hear out. As a result, you assimilated traits from the three dominant races within the population of that village, that being...Werewolves, Nekomata, and Nekowolves』
Said the System, causing Adam to blink slowly, as his mind was still sluggish from the aftershock of his transformation.
"...Wait... Are you saying... I evolved again, like I did five years ago?"
『Correct. Your core race remains Shinso Human, but your body has now incorporated physical and genetic traits from all three species. Your physiology has drastically changed』
Adam forced himself to sit up, wincing as his muscles protested. He was drenched in his own blood, his body stable after that grueso adaption he underwent.
Still, he needed to see it for himself.
His hands were the first thing he noticed.
They looked... sharper.
His fingers were slightly longer, and at the tips, instead of normal fingernails, he now had sleek black claws that glead in the violet hue.
His eyes widened slightly.
Reaching behind him, his fingers brushed against sothing soft and thick.
Slowly, carefully, he pulled it into view.
Looking at what was in his hand, his voice leaked, saying in shock.
"... Ha? This is... A tail."
He murmured to no one but himself. It was similar to Keria one, but his was black, and not crimson.
Adam stared at it like it was an alien limb, giving it a small flick...only for it to actually move, like it had a mind of its own.
"Holy shit...
He muttered, as the sensation was foreign to him.
His heart pounded as he finally caught a glimpse of his reflection in his own pool of blood that was soaking into the dirt below.
Looking at it, he could see that he still had his normal human ears; however, a new fluffy pair appeared just above his head.
In their place sat a pair of hybrid beast ears, a fusion between wolf and cat. They twitched involuntarily, picking up every little sound in the burning village around him...the crackling flas, the distant screams, the scuttling of sothing multiple presence moving underground.
And then there were his eyes.
No longer the simple, human orbs he once had, that made his pupils rotate like a galaxy.
Now, his irises glowed a sharp, predatory blue with slit pupils... it was the unmistakable gaze of a Nekomata.
His fingers curled into fists.
And despite all the changes, Adam didn’t feel off one bit.
His body wasn’t rejecting the traits, nor did he feel any discomfort moving his new limbs. If anything, it all felt natural, like he was always ant to be this way.
"Wow, not going to lie, this all feels so natural, yet so weird."
Said Adam.
But at the sa ti, he felt a weird tingly sensation shooting his left arm.
"I wonder what this feeling is. It is like an itch, yet I feel like if I try to push hard, sothing will happen."
With curiosity taking the better of him, he pushed, and his muscles tensed, his skin stretched, and his bones shifted.
When he did that, his entire left arm started to morph into sothing else.
Soon, thick, dark fur erupted from his skin, his forearm expanding, his biceps bulging with muscle. His human fingers elongated into massive, brutal claws, sharp enough to rend through solid steel.
"Wo..
Adam’s eyes widened at the sight.
His arm had mutated into a monstrous werewolf’s arm, nearly thrice the size of his regular one. He flexed his fingers, feeling the sheer strength within them. They felt light, despite looking so heavy and out of proportion to the rest of his body.
Seeing this, the System talks up, saying.
『I see you already picked up partial transformation so quickly, ha Master』
When Adam heard the System speak, he, too, jumped in replying back to it, saying...
"Partial transformation, you say....hmmm, how fascinating, although going by that naming sense, I presu this one of the werewolf traits right?"
『Yes, it’s a trait of the werewolves. Those claws can release a special toxin that is deadly to undead-type monsters, for example, Vampires...but the scariest trait of the werewolf monster species is that they can straight up ignore durability』
Hearing this, Adam was surprised, to say the least, as he responded.
"So these werewolves are similar to the werewolves in I am the Alpha... Those guys have 5 special transformations and are the strongest variation of werewolves I have ever seen in any dia before."
Said Adam, aloud.
However, it was the System that shocked him at this mont, as it said.
『That is because the werewolves in this Asrum Feild are the sa werewolves from the mobile gacha ga... I am the Alpha』
