Seeing the bloody handprint of Allash on the Statue of Nephari, Adam took a deep breath before he raised his left hand.

At that mont, a small, silver magic circle spun into existence at Adam’s fingertips.

The air around him stirred, gathering in a razor-thin blade of pure air, until an invisible knife made of air was created, and it hovered just above his open right palm. Without hesitation, he let it descend, and...

Slice!

The sound of his own flesh cutting could be heard.

From the self-inflicted wound, a thin line of red appeared across his right palm. The cut wasn’t deep, but it was enough to draw a good amount of blood. It was warm, and it began to welled up, rolling down his fingers in thick droplets. Without another word, Adam then turned his left hand over it and sared it against the wound, coating his palm and using his own blood as paint.

He exhaled slowly and looked up.

His gaze locked onto the glowing handprint, the spot where the Blood of Allash was hidden.

Before he could move, Keira’s voice cut in.

"...Are you paying your respects to Nephari Adam?"

"Hmm...

Adam said as he looked back downwards to find both Keira and Nyla wagging their tails as if happy about sothing.

’What got those two excited?’

He asked himself, but ultimately, only responded, stating as such.

"Yeah, might as well... besides, it’s your clan’s cultural practice. If I am here, I might as well respect it and participate in it since this doesn’t seem too extre."

His explanation was short, and in a way vividly true, he was paying his respects, however, his motives were as clear as day, if you knew what kind of power laid in the bloody handprint before him.

His eyes then drifted back to the Blood of Allash, but it was only at this mont that a thought crossed his mind.

’You know, I just realized this, but what the hell was Allash doing in the Monster World of all places?’

Adam asked himself, pondering on the actions of the Authorial.

After all, this DLC item wouldn’t be here if Allash hadn’t placed it himself.

He was known for placing his blood in random places...well, random places that were close to human civilizations.

So seeing this here was quite the surprise, to say the least.

Which ant that at so point in ti, he had stood here, before this very statue, and pressed his own bloodied hand against the stone.

A strange coincidence.

Or maybe not.

Allash was known to be ruthless, a warrior among warriors, but he wasn’t without honor. He respected those who had fallen in battle, even if they weren’t his own. If he left his blood here, then this was probably his way of acknowledging Nephari’s death. A final sign of respect.

Ultimately, of course, Adam wasn’t going to question it.

If anything, it worked out perfectly for him.

As such, he took one last deep breath and reached his sared hand forward.

His blood-coated palm pressed firmly against the weathered stone, aligning perfectly with the faint, glowing imprint left behind by Allash.

For a brief mont, nothing happened.

Then....

A deep, pulsing heat surged through his hand.

His muscles tensed as a foreign sensation crawled up his arm, like heated rcury rushing through his veins. His blood mingled with the ancient stain on the statue, and in that instant, it was as if the blood itself ca alive.

It slithered past his palm, ignoring the fresh layer of his own blood, and seeped into his pores.

A sharp breath left Adam’s lips.

"Ehaaeeaeeee...

Adam groaned silently as he tried to hold in the urge to scream in pain.

His vision blurred for a split second before the System’s voice rang out in his mind.

Her voice identifying the changes in his body.

『A Foreign Bloodline Detected』

『Analyzing...

『Bloodline of Allash identified』

『Assimilation comncing』

The mont the words echoed in his head, Adam felt it.

A shift within his own being.

An overwhelming force welled up within him, expanding, flooding his entire being with sothing ancient and powerful. His breath hitched as the sensation surged through his limbs, his mind, his very soul.

『Synchronization: 2%... 8%... 26%...』

His heartbeat thundered in his ears...it was like every part of his being was charging.

『55%... 81%...』

The world around him seed distant, fading into the background as the bloodline rewrote parts of him at an atomic level... yet his own unique bloodline, his Shinso bloodline, acted as if to say... he was already perfect henceforth; anything foreign had no say here.

And that was exactly what had happened.

Not even the blood of Allash could take over his body, as his dominant bloodline, and in that mont, his body changed in a weird way, his Shinso ability kicked in, and his body adapted, as a result it began to treat his new upgrades as re adaptions.

His muscles began to tighten, his bones beca denser, and his senses sharpened beyond what should have been natural.

This went on for about ten seconds as new power filled his being.

It wasn’t long before this process was complete.

『100%』

『Bloodline assimilation complete』

A heavy silence followed.

Adam’s body trembled, but he kept himself afloat.

He felt different at that mont.

Stronger and more sensitive to the world around him; his sight, hearing, touch, sll, and taste all seem to have upgraded in this mont.

His senses flared, sharpening to an unnatural degree. He barely had ti to adjust before the first thing hit him.

The sll of the world around him.

A thick, rancid stench flooded his nose, so vile and oppressive it made his stomach churn. It was the miasma around him.

He had known it was there, but he had never slled it before, so this was new.

It was pungent, like rotting flesh soaked in sulfur, clinging to the air like a disease.

And he could also feel it moving, without using the eyes of the world, to see its movent.

The way it slithered through the air, brushing against his skin like invisible tendrils.

But that wasn’t all.

A sound struck him next... not one, but many.

The Paffora Forest and the chaos within it. His ears picked up layers upon layers of noise he hadn’t noticed before. He could hear the wind cutting through the trees, but beneath that, there was movent... Rustling... Footsteps... The chittering of creatures lurking in it.

He also heard the bloodshed as well.

Flesh tearing... Bones snapping... Predators feasting... Creatures of the forest, locked in endless battle... He could hear them fighting and dying at the sa ti.
