BOOOOM!

A deafening explosion echoed across the eerie crimson-hued sky, shaking the area from which it ca. There was no sun here, just the shifting colors of reality itself, a phenonon that dictated the passing of ti. The deepening shade of daily red ant evening was approaching.

Beyond the towering Mansion, ho of the Shinso family, nestled at the edge of the sprawling Poffora Forest, two figures stood amidst the thick, black-barked trees, their twisted green leaves pulsing with glowing red veins.

The forest was infamous for harboring monstrous beings known as Superficials, chaotic beings drawn to areas with the densest pools of Miasma that filled the Monster Realm.

And the Poffora Forest was one such area.

Fortunately, the estate and the entire Minerva Village was protected by a powerful defensive array. After all, this village, ho to various monster species, was a sanctuary for outcasts; hybrids, and chiras, scorned by the purist ideals of mainstream monster society.

But today, Adam had no ti to ponder societal divisions. His focus was entirely on his training.

Priscilla on the other hand stood with her arms crossed, watching Adam from a distance as he prepared for his final task of the day. Before him stood three training dummies, one frozen solid, another buried deep in the earth, and scorched a little bit as if sothing exploded on it, and the last, completely untouched.

"Concentrate Adam, you already know the formula."

Priscilla said to Adam who replied.

"I know."

He said subtly.

And with a determined expression, Adam extended his hand. The mont he did, a glowing 12-inch magic circle manifested in his palm, swirling with white light. This was Heat Magic, a versatile elent that governed both fire and ice, allowing him to control temperature reactions, exothermic for fire, and endothermic for ice.

And seeing that Adam was finally ready.

Priscilla, who was standing off to the side, spoke once more.

"This ti, Adam, aim for an instant kill using fire. Since it's a long-range target, construct sothing efficient. No wasted energy, minimal Astrum consumption."

When these words were said.

A smirk spread across Adam's face, as he replied back to Priscilla saying.

"Got it, Big Sis."

She nodded her head, her expectations high in his usage of magic.

After all, Priscilla wasn't just drilling him on any random spell, she was teaching him the basics of Construct Magic, a fundantal principle that allowed for the precise shaping of magical attacks.

And using spirit language to code the fundantal commands behind the construct purpose, given magic casting in this new world was basically coding with special ruins, called spirit ruins, and combining certain commands, to form an order or a logic behind it, and so far these ruin's is what makes up the spirit language.

"As you wish bis sis."

Adam said as he was about to cast a firebase offensive spell, using construction magic via heat attribute, naturally he could absorb Astrum way faster than he could originally as a result of the Gates of Magic increasing the rate of absorption by 500%.

As of right now, his Heat spirits have converted 1/16th of the total attributeless Astrum he has gathered into his sea, into pure heat attribute.

That was the Astrum type he needed to use Heat magic, or in this subjective case, fire magic.

As such the spell was about to be cast.

A fireball was too basic.

And Adam wants to impress Priscilla.

So he was about to use sothing else.

With the Gate of Magic, he could replicate any magic he has seen with his eyes, instantly or over ti, it really depends on the complexity behind it.

A few days ago, Priscilla had demonstrated an advanced fire construct. Now, Adam was about to recreate it perfectly. Or rather a water-down version of it as he was not planning on starting a forest fire.

The air shimred as his magic circle pulsed, heating up further. Adam locked onto his target, his mind flashing back to his Call of Duty days.

'Steady breath... align your shot... fire.'

With pinpoint focus, he structured the spell using spirit language, encoding details like velocity, impact force, and detonation radius, all in the construct.

And holding his breath, he took aim; the magic circle glowing at the palm of his left hand.

Then, after his focus was set, he fired.

Of course, there were no incantations, those were more ritual-based, and even then, the Gate of Magic did not really need him to say his spells out either way.

But that aside, in the next instant, a massive one-ter-long flaming arrow shot forth like a missile from the 12-inch wide and long magic circle, blazing through the air at an astonishing 148 miles per hour. The force of the recoil sent Adam stumbling back, but he quickly regained his balance.

The mont the flaming projectile struck the training dummy, the ground trembled.

BOOOOM!

The explosion engulfed the area in a 13-ter-wide inferno, its heat so intense that even the frozen dummy was flung aside, the ice instantly vaporizing into steam. The buried dummy, now unearthed, caught fire. The primary target? Obliterated. Burned fragnts rained from the sky, the air thick with smoke.

Adam grinned, hands on his hips.

"Hahaha! Overkill! Did you see that, Big Sis? If that had been a person, they'd be either dead or horribly burned, unless they were so regenerating freak."

Priscilla closed her eyes and smiled.

She then walked up to him, and...

THWACK!

Only to knuckle him square on the forehead.

"OW! OW OW OW! What was that for?!"

Adam yelped, clutching his head in pain.

Priscilla let out a sigh right after, and the send began to speak to Adam, telling him as such.

"As impressive as that was, you need to stay humble. Arrogance gets people killed. Being a genius is great and all, but overconfidence? That's a death sentence. Just because you blew soone to pieces doesn't an they're dead. At least, not in the Monster Realm. There are creatures out there with ridiculous regeneration. Always confirm the kill, just because it looks dead, doesn't an it is dead."

Priscilla said.

Her tone was serious, but then she smirked, ruffling his hair.

"That aside... your execution was flawless. You're an absolute monster of talent. Honestly, you learn at a rate that is unheard of, even Echidna would be jealous."

Adam pouted, rubbing his forehead.

"Still didn't have to hit ."

"You'll live."

Priscilla shrugged.

Then, she continued.

"That aside, ti for so criticism, one... you did take too long casting, though. Two seconds longer than necessary. Stop overthinking, just cast."

Priscilla inford Adam who began to nod at her words, absorbing every word of advice she had to offer.

Priscilla then dropped her next bombshell.

"Good! Now, for tonight's howork."

Adam groaned at her words, pretending to be cute, and kid-like here and there.

"Ugh... more?"

Ignoring his protest, Priscilla continued.

"So far, you've mastered six spells. Which, mind you, should have taken at least two months, and you learned them all just by watching once. Insane... it's for that reason, that I am training you in a combat way instead on how to use the six of them as efficiently as possible during a fight."

She then listed them off.

"You have one stealth spell, one defensive spell, two combat spells, one tracking spell, and one support spell. You need to start organizing them efficiently, categorizing them for instant use. In battle, you won't have ti to think about what to use. You need to react as if second nature."

Explained Priscilla; anwhile, Adam nodded at her words, clearly listening intently to what she was saying.

Knowledge was power, and there could never be too much of it.

Priscilla then went on to say.

"Also, manage your Astrum reserves wisely. You might be able to hold an infinite number of spells and an infinite amount of Astrum, but it isn't truly infinite given you can only absorb fixed amounts at a ti per second as all lifeforms can as well, well those with the gift of magic at least.... so always keep in mind, any battles are wars of endurance."

Said Priscilla.

She then began to give him a final pat on the shoulder.

"Alright, you're dismissed. You have Miasma class with Minerva next."

Adam blinked at these last words, as he soon began to ask.

"Wait, already? Isn't that at night? Why so early today?"

When this question was asked, Priscilla gave him an evil smirk as she replied back to him, stating as such.

"She has sothing special planned for you today. And seeing how quickly you've picked up the basics... my guess is she wants to test you."

Adam's eyes widened as he said.

"Test ?!"

"Yes test you... don't worry worst-case scenario you die."

"...Th..th..That was not funny."

"Hehehe... well just survive, as simple as that."

"I see...

Adam said with a defeated look, but soon after he turned his back on the forest and Priscilla, looking at the mansion up ahead, preparing to leave for Minerva, but before he went he stopped and said.

"Dont worry big sis... I will survive at all costs, how else will I be able to marry you and the others in the future if I die."

Priscilla blush at this, but soon brushed it off by saying.

"Stop saying stupid things boy... off you go now."

"Hehehe... yeah... yeah... Love you too big sis."

Adam chuckled, as he run off to Minerva.
