"Master Cui, you are embarrassing ." Song Yixu couldn't help but pout upon hearing the words of Madam Cui, she looked at the elderly woman and then remarked sternly, "When I was young and couldn't even do anything right, it was you who helped . No one was willing to accept as their disciple because I was slow and not as witty as my sisters."
Song Yixu was indeed slow as a child, because of this no one was willing to teach her. Even her mother thought that Song Yixu was probably going to live a poor life under the suppression of her half-sisters but then Madam Cui ca and took Song Yixu with her.
She taught her everything patiently even though Song Yixu was not good with many things. Madam Cui was patient with Song Yixu even when she offended a custor or ended up making a mistake in the calculations. She had never lost her temper with Song Yixu no matter what and that was why Song Yixu respected and cared for Madam Cui.
"You are thinking too much, I did not do anything too much," Madam Cui was touched when she thought about how Song Yixu was willing to rember what she had done for her but it was still not enough to change her decision.
After all, Madam Cui had indeed stretched out her hand for help in front of many of her disciples. They all agreed to help her but after sending two or three catties of grains, they stopped responding. Madam Cui also understood that they wanted her to stop sending pleas for help and so she did.
She also learned the hard way that when tragedy struck, people wouldn't think twice before burning the bridges. The sa one which helped them cross to the better side.
Madam Cui did not want to feel disappointed once again, thus she adamantly refused.
"Madam Cui, I know that you are worried that I will chase you and your family out of my house but you don't need to fear such a thing as the situation in the Big River Town is better than here," as she spoke, she explained everything to Madam Cui including the mall that Yu Dong had opened in the town.
She also told her that there was no lack of water and food at the Big River Village as well as her house as she listened to Yu Dong and looked for a water resource for the sumrs. Fortunately, she was able to buy a house that had two wells that were deep and filled with water.
Since Song Yixu was only taking of her parents she did not have to worry about the water level of the wells going down, as she did not care what happened to her sisters who did not listen to her when she told them that they should dig up a well for their use as the sumrs were to be hard this year.
When Madam Cui heard that the Big River Town was still selling fruits and vegetables, she was shocked. She did not expect that there was a town which was unaffected by the drought.
"Are you speaking the truth?" Madam Cui asked with shock written on her face.
Song Yixu nodded and replied, "I am. I will not lie to you about things that do not exist. The mall at the Big River town has almost everything, you can buy at and vegetables as long as you have money. Of course, the price of the at and vegetables is a bit higher but once you buy them, you will know that there is a reason for that price."
Madam Cui fell into thought after hearing what Song Yixu said to her, if what she said was the truth then it ant that the Big River Town was not suffering. If anything it was flourishing.
"Can you give a day? I will discuss this matter with my family and relay their answer to you," Madam Cui said to Song Yixu who nodded and agreed. "Sure why not, I will wait for your response then master."
Song Yixu took her leave after she cupped her hands and bowed in front of Madam Cui. Once she was gone, Madam Cui turned to look at her helper and said to her, "Go and call my family, tell them that there is sothing that I need to say to them."
The helper nodded and then rushed to call the Cui family as she knew that this matter was of utmost importance!

"Mother, you an to say that there is a mall where we can buy vegetables and at?" Cui Wang who was the eldest of the five daughters of Madam Cui asked with surprise laced in her tone. She couldn't believe that there was a place in this country left where they could get food and water.
Madam Cui turned to look at her daughter and questioned sternly, "If not do you think I would have told you all about it?"
"No, what I ant," Cui Wang began but was interrupted by her husband, Master Gong, "My wife did not an anything rude, Mother. It's just that you have seen the current state of the country. People are willing to eat their family mbers out of hunger, I am sure that my wife is only worried about what might happen to our family in case, Madam Song has so sort of hidden intentions."
"That's right!" Master Duan, the husband of the second daughter, Cui Guang said to Madam Cui, "Mother don't you rember? Three months ago, a man from the south ca to the town and said that he was here to bring his widowed r brother back ho with him along with his sons.
He cried and sobbed saying that he missed his brother and wanted to bring him to a nicer place where his brother and his children could eat and drink their fill."
"What happened then? That r and his children were eaten by that man!"
