The wedding banquet started as soon as Yu Tong took away Lin Hanjing. The rs followed the bridal procession to the Yu houses while Yu Dong stayed behind with Xiao Hua who was staring at the procession leave.

She glanced at the r next to her and said to him, "Are you upset?"

"I am not upset," Xiao Hua replied with his arms crossed as he looked at Lin Hanjing leave. "No matter where he is and what he is doing, Brother Hanjing will always be my big brother."

His eyes continued to look at Lin Hanjing who was sitting in the sedan which was carried by four mammies while Yu Tong threw wedding candies to the children and the villagers while sitting on the horse.

The two of them looked happy and excited about their new life together.

"It is just that I will miss him a bit," Xiao Hua answered with a small smile which was filled with a reminiscent touch.

He turned his face to the right and was about to tell Yu Dong to follow the wedding procession when he was pushed into a corner. Warm lips covered his own, at first Xiao Hua was stunned at the sudden kiss but then he threw his arms around Yu Dong's neck and welcod the kiss.

He tilted his mouth to one side and let Yu Dong deepen the kiss as he sucked and nipped on her lips. Their tongues were entangled together as the sound of suppressed moans and groans echoed in the now-silent house.

Xiao Hua tugged and pulled at Yu Dong's hair as he whispered against her lips, "Whats with this sudden favour?"

"Just felt like you needed it," Yu Dong whispered back as he pecked Xiao Hua on the lips before pulling away. She leaned against his forehead before saying, "Don't worry, you will soon be next to your Brother Hanjing once we get married."

Xiao Hua's lips curled up slightly, he raised his hand and cupped Yu Dong's cheek before saying, "Well, I will be waiting for that day."

"It won't be long."

"Haha, is that so?"

On the other side, at the Yu house.

Yu Tong arrived with the bridegroom. As soon as she arrived the crowd started buzzing with excitent, many villagers blessed Yu Tong with a happy married life.

While many teased her by asking her to have a lot of kids.

But so looked at the empty seat where the mother of the bride should be sitting and couldn't help but mutter,

"Yu Linyun is really too much. No matter what Yu Tong is her daughter, how can she skip her own daughter's wedding?" One of the elderly won said with a frown.

"I know right," another woman clicked her tongue and said to the elderly woman. "I heard Madam Yu went to look for Yu Linyun and asked her to attend the wedding despite their differences but Yu Linyun refused to co."

"Yu Dong even said that she would take twenty thousand taels off her debt but how could Yu Linyun agree? She did not want Yu Tong to marry Lin Hanjing in the first place. So even with that temptation, Yu Linyun refused."

"She is being so petty. No matter what Yu Tong is her daughter, she should not hold such grudges against her."

The elderly won continued to gossip while Yu Tong guided Lin Hanjing inside the house. As Yu Linyun did not attend the wedding, Grandma Yu was the one who took her place.

They had no choice, this part of the ceremony could not be skipped and they needed soone to fill in the spot.

"I should have just fucking killed that woman," Yu Dong muttered loud enough for everyone to hear. "At least that way we could have used her morial tablet."

Everyone: ".." It is fine. It's alright, we can make do with this. There is no need to go to such extre lengths.

"Oh hush," Shen Li pinched his wife on the waist. He said to her, "There is no need for you to say such things at a wedding."

Yu Dong was about to say sothing but her attention was caught by a sneaky figure that was hiding behind the door of the Yu house.

She narrowed her eyes before making her way to the front door.

"What are you doing?" She asked Old Master Tong when she ca to a stop in front of the r who was about to run.

"I—-I ca to give this to Ah Tong," Old Master Tong reached out his hands in front of Yu Dong and showed him a small golden ring. It was so small that only a child could wear it.

Old Master Tong was worried that Yu Dong would mock him, so he hurriedly said, "This…This is the only thing that I could buy with my own savings….I know it is not good enough compared to the gold jewellery that her husband is wearing but—— but this is my heartfelt feeling and blessings."

As Old Master Tong grew older, the more he realised that he was in the wrong and that he shouldn't have been so greedy. Even though he was married and had a wife who was younger and more beautiful than Old Madam Yu—— he was still lonely. Continue your adventure at My Virtual Library Empire

But Old Master Tong could not say a word of complaint as this was the consequence of his actions.

Yu Dong looked at Old Master Tong's shaking hand and humiliation-filled expression. She didn't say for a while before she questioned, "You regret it, don't you?"

Old Master Tong raised his head and looked at Yu Dong in surprise. At first, nothing happened but then his lips curled into a wry smile as he nodded, "Yeah…I regret it. I regret it so much that…I wish I could change everything."

But there was no dicine for regrets. He was the one who made the choices, since he was the one who picked the wrong path he had to suffer the pain as well.

Yu Dong glanced at Old Madam Tong whose pain and grief were vividly visible on his face.

She sighed and stepped aside, "Go and give it to her. I think Ah Tong will like it too."
